Hi there! New to rp on FF, but old roleplayer with a lore question about rdm!

Hello friends,

I'm an avid roleplayer, I've been enjoying this hobby for longer than I care to admit. I used to just rp in person with friends, then I started roleplaying on other MMOs, and now I finally started my rp adventures on FFXIV, mostly just with friends.

I'm a viera and I wanted to rp as a red mage, I'm mostly wondering how likely that is. I'm only level 75, and still going through stormblood, so I don't know what happened in the red mage storyline until the end. As far as I know there may be a new generation of reds.

There is no big problem RPing as a Red Mage.   X'Rhun Tia - the guy who teaches us the Red Mage skills - is perfectly willing to teach other people as well.  We know he met and trained Alisaie at some point between the end of ARR and the start of Stormblood for example.

It is also concievable that there are some other experienced Red Mages alive out there.

Yeah I know he trained Alisaie, but I wasn't sure it was likely that he would've trained others too, at least he didn't mention anything in the questline up to the point where I am.

The little lore I know about red mage would suggest that most of them are gone and the source material to become one isn't in a particularly safe place.

 

Are there other options to become one too? Not that the one you mentioned isn't valid, but I just wanted to see if there's more options and find one I like.
