New RPer Here

I will begin my first foray into Role-Playing at the launch of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. This is by no means the first MMORPG I have played, but it will host my earliest attempt at RPing. From what I have experienced up until this point in beta, my first beta by the way, the community in XIV is shaping to be helpful for first-timers. 

 

I'd like to learn as much as I can about RPing from these forums. I'll be sure to read what my fellow members have written about their characters, as I develop some ideas of my own. Any tips from veteran RPers will be much appreciated.

 

Also, would anyone know a good place to learn some Eorzean lore?

I'm planning to start on gilgamesh in Phase 4. I just might see you there, on my female seeker(Beia Quickclaw) or Highlander female. I'm still in the process of choosing a design for my main.

Welcome! As far as lore, if no one's post it yet, Endemerrin has a pretty in-depth write-up of the 1.0 storyline. SE also has their own lore forums, which are great for some official tidbits. The wiki also has some official info from the FFXIV site that we've transferred over.
