Nikolai Posted August 20, 2010 Share #26 Posted August 20, 2010 As the group walked along and the woman divulged her plans, the man grinned, eyes glinting, though it seemed the meaning of his prior gesturing had been missed; she had still not given her name. Alas, he would take a more direct approach in a moment; still grinning, he commented as they yet moved, "A lofty ambition. I like it." They were then again interrupted by another girl claiming to have found a hat; indeed, she was carrying it. The man, rather intent on getting to the tavern sooner than later, seemed a little impatient, but was markedly more cordial than he had been with Antrekk. He reluctantly stopped to answer, "Yes, there was a woman earlier who indeed claimed to have lost a hat. She ran off in that direction," he said, pointing lazily, "with intent to return to us when she found it. She had blackish, reddish hair; if you manage to find her, do let her know we'll be at the Wench, won't you?" He nodded at her decisively, and without awaiting a response, continued toward the tavern, which was then, in fact, only a few steps away. "As I was saying," he segued quite smoothly as he pulled a chair from the table nearest to the entrance of the Wench and immediately took a seat, "it seems as though you've got some pretty big dreams. I admire that." He then laughingly added with a wink, "Reminds me of me. Ah, but I have one question; how, exactly, do you intend to go about bringing it to fruition?" He suddenly took a quite more serious demeanor, and he gazed levelly at the proprietor-woman from his seat. Link to comment
Kale Posted August 20, 2010 Share #27 Posted August 20, 2010 The doors to the Wench suddenly flew open and a Hyur man stumbles into the tavern with a bucket over his head. "Privy, WHERE'S THE PRIVY!?" he cries. An already frightened looking waitress points towards a corner in the back. "B-Behind the counters, to your left." The man stumbles over to the counter and slams a piece of paper with a nail dangling on one of its edges onto it's surface, startling the barkeep. "Hold that for me- I need that for later, I'll pay you some gils', but for now-" The mans stomach began roaring uncontrollably. "OH GODS- MERCY!" The man disappears behind the corner, all the while screaming "I'M GOING TO CRUSH THAT MIDGET!" The bewildered barkeep wonders briefly to himself what just happened, and looks over at what the man left behind. It was a flier mentioning what the barkeep percieved to be some sort of a Merchants' Guild, aptly titled, "The Silver Anvil." Link to comment
Richter Posted August 20, 2010 Share #28 Posted August 20, 2010 Indeed, as Richter was in his joy jog down to the Dolphin, he had sighted yet another Mi'qote vectoring towards the Adventurer's Guild, though with a peculiar hat in hand. Knowing that he was not privy to why she had it, he shrugged and kept pace down to the Drowning Wench. "Then again, she is following the group that's also heading- wait, now she's going back, and did that man say that someone desperately need said hat? ...No matter.". It would be of no matter to him, as his arrival at the Dolphin was nigh, and he was well-ahead of the main group. By the time they arrived, he'd be with some sparkling water, a nice waitress, some bread, and a mind set on his next adventure. --It certainly didn't go as planned. The minute that Richter, sweaty from a long jog and breathing like an enslaved kobold on a death march (--he prefers not to talk about that), had descended a tier from the Octant and to the Dolphin -- that was when he saw the man with a stand-out look: urgently running in, and with a bucket on head. Richter suddenly stopped to see said man storm into the Guild and loudly ask for the bar privy. Clearing his throat upon noticing the passer-bys who were also bemused, Richter made a lovely comment he did: "Now this man -- THIS man must have seen the new show! And I do wish to know which one it was." Richter, noticing that the door was closing, quickly skipped in through the passageway and found a table near the front, in the event that he needed to make haste. "Barkeep! Yes, I'd like your best sparkling water and a regular loaf." While waiting for his meal to arrive, the wiry and active Midlander spotted a conspicuous flyer bolted to the guild bar. Getting up to look at, he finds it to be the very same flyer that he possessed himself. "It would seem to be a good day for the proprietor. Though I lack interest in the guild itself, I could get them some supplies out in the wild -- anything to give me something to do right now." Link to comment
berdyne Posted August 20, 2010 Share #29 Posted August 20, 2010 Nodding her thanks Berdyne walks off to find the girl who lost her hat. Giving a confused look as the Hyur man runs past with the bucket on his head. Shaking her head partly amused she returns to searching for the girl. Link to comment
Midaja Posted August 20, 2010 Share #30 Posted August 20, 2010 With a low sigh Midaja slowly returned to the setting of the prior events, blinking a few times as everyone went off, especially the rather heavy built tailor, and with them her chance of getting a new hat immediately. So she just stand there, in the middle of the street, starting to think. After a few minutes she seemed to have made her decision and turned right, only to be surprised by a hyur woman standing there, having arms folded and looking quite sternly. "Hey, girl, what do you think you're doing, standing in the middle of a crowded street with your big ears not recording anything? Move you're ass! You're blocking the way!" and with one finger she pointed at a big chocobo. Not saying anything the young Miqo'te stepped aside, watching the elegant bird passing by. She blinked a few times, having forgotton what she had intended to do. Link to comment
berdyne Posted August 20, 2010 Share #31 Posted August 20, 2010 Looking around again for the girl hearing the huryn woman shouting at someone she turns looking at Midaja. The hat she had found in her hand she watches her inspecting; thinking she was around the description that she had been given. Berdyne walks to Midaja. âPardon me, um did you loose a hat?â Holds up the hat in-front of Midaja her eyes questioning? Link to comment
Hiname Posted August 21, 2010 Author Share #32 Posted August 21, 2010 Hiname seemed to be rather following and talking. It looked like she was not paying attention to anything around her, though she was clearly aware of the things happening around her, she just decided to focus on the matters at hand before being distracted. Things went just a too good way currently. "Well I gathered a lot of money, saved every last gil I could get my hands on from my own little business. Recently, I closed up my little forge and went to the bigger city of Gridania, paying nearly all my money to open up a big guild center and buy the needed equipment. It will be ready for opening in a couple of weeks, but to make this plan flourish, I need others. Crafters, salesman, guards... Man and woman capable and able to work for the anvil." She had a slight smirk on her face as she reached in her bag and waved with something that looked like.. A blueprint? "Theory is all but through and done. What I need are worthy employees now." Midaja Posted August 21, 2010 Share #33 Posted August 21, 2010 Being even more confused after being interrupted in her thoughts again, she watched to other Miqo'te woman up and down before spotting the headpiece. "Ooooh, yeeees, thats mine, thats mine!" She clapped into her hands and, for the first time today, let a feint smile appear on her face. "Can I have it? I didnt hope for someone actually bringing it back to me... This whole town seems all together to be much more thievisch than Gridania..." she said in a more lost-in-thought maner. Link to comment
Len Posted August 21, 2010 Share #34 Posted August 21, 2010 After following the man silently he finally entered the Wench and overheard someone talking about the silver anvil. Feeling he might finally get some answers he approaches the woman who talks about spending all her gil on it and stands behind her almost next to her listening until she finishes saying : "It will be ready for opening in a couple of weeks, but to make this plan flourish, I need others. Crafters, salesman, guards... Man and woman capable and able to work for the anvil." She had a slight smirk on her face as she reached in her bag and waved with something that looked like.. A blueprint? "Theory is all but through and done. What I need are worthy employees now." ( OOC COMMENT : whatever anyone else says I putting in red to separate it from what my character says And what my character says will be green just cause i like green ) He then interrupts the miqo'te woman and asks " What is this all about exactly " as he holds up the flyer with the face mark on it saying Silver Anvil Link to comment
UnbeknownstGhost Posted August 21, 2010 Share #35 Posted August 21, 2010 Ghost sat at his table, eating his pie. Eating his damn good pie. Around halfway through he heard a word that perked him right up. The word Guard. He like that word, being a guard was good money. And if the group he was guarding were traveling, well, he could eek more out of them by being their cook as well. Everybody loves a good cook. Sighing he left the rest of his pie on the table, money being a better prospect then good food at the moment. He grabbed his great axe Eea with his right hand, his helmet sitting on the table with his left and made his way over to the woman that said the magic word of money, using his large axe much like a walking stick. As he headed over there, the axe thumped heavily every other step, making it quite obvious where he was headed. He stopped in front of the woman, the axe made one final thump, and Ghost gave the lady his best, million gil smile, eyes glinting with pleasure at th overly dramatic entrance. "I bid you a good day Madame," Ghost spoke in a smooth, even voice, "My name is Klane Baet, I could not help but overhear you speak just a moment ago, sadly I was unable to hear much, but you did speak one role in which I excel. I, my lady, am a proffesional mercenary. A lone wolf for hire if you will. But, before we get to any buissness I would like to know the name of such a lovely lady." He finished this short speach with his most dashing smile. Link to comment
Richter Posted August 21, 2010 Share #36 Posted August 21, 2010 Richter had fallen half-asleep waiting for the proprietor to arrive at her destination, and it took someone's obnoxious axe-thumping to stir Richter from a day-dream. "Ah snap, I'm always like this when I go here to meet someone." He slowly stood up from his chair, making sure not to bump anything and cause a n inopportune ruckus at the Guild, and began to walk over to the small group that was now forming in the Dolphin. He knew exactly what to ask of the proprietor, and he going was make certain that he was fit for the role. Walking on in to complete the circle, just as soon as the marauder had finished, he spoke in a confident but reserved voice, almost with a hint of debonair: "Ladies and gentlemen, I have heard of your fine establishment", pulling out the flyer as he went along. "Considering that your guild is to consist of crafters here and from abroad, it would be considerate of someone to acquire crafting materials for a small fee. For that -- I can give you! and with great consistency can Richter. V, Vylbrand Scout and Spelunker, do you a favor!" Richter added some charisma to this charming intervention with motions of the hand and some well-placed expressions. Both he and the axe-wielder had made some fine approaches to this group, and it was now more than likely that both would get their fair share. Richter, on the contrary, was uncertain on what to expect, but that was always the case whenever he made an offer anywhere. Back home in Ul'dah, where gil was hard to come around, paying for his tenement was a major issue at certain times, though Richter eventually did make a lot of money as an ace swindler and crime boss for a month. If there was ever any one element that intervened with Richter's deals, then karma would be it. "I myself would like to know who the proprietor is, much as with this gent to my side." Richter would wait. Link to comment
Kale Posted August 21, 2010 Share #37 Posted August 21, 2010 After much wailing and what felt like an eternity, the Hyur man slowly emerges from the privy, bucket still on, though now with a giant hole poked into it with some sort of pointed object, just large enough to reveal his eyes so he can see. Exhausted, and with a butterfly-shaped perfume bottle in hand, he begins spraying its contents all over the tiny room before returning it to its little place-holder on his belt. He begins staggering over to the counter where he left the flyer he accidentally ripped off a wall on the streets somewhere, all the while whining about a Lallafel Alchemist he encountered earlier. "Cures' any and all ailments, he says, Guarunteed to work immediately after consumption, he says. Next time I see that little bastard I'm going to pull on his goatee until it comes off his chin..." The man pulls the paper off the counter and leaves a few gil for the barkeep before slumping over on a table near the privy, just in case, all the while startling an Elezen and Roegadyn who were already seated at that table. Wanting a little space, the Hyur lifts the bucket an inch or three, enough to reveal a good portion of his face (which was dotted with enough multicolored sores to form a new constellation), to the other two. "Excuse me,"The man begins, all the while bobbling his head from side to side, "I seem to have contracted the Plague, and-" Before he could finish his sentence, the other two flew off thier chairs and bolted out the tavern. Satisfied, he glances over the flyer in his hands, going over the contents, when at that moment he overheard someone talking about the very thing he came looking for: The Silver Anvil. The man turns around and sees two other Hyurs' (one of them a colossal of a man whose physical build made most other Hyur males look like wimps in comparison, probably a Highlander) along with a Lallafel, standing next to a table on the far end of the room near the entrance of the Tavern. Excited, he jumps off his chair, knocking over a waitress who was bringing him a glass of water. "Women Please, I know I'm sexy, but not now!" The Hyur leaves a couple of gils in the waitresses hands and dashes off to a little corner near the previously mentioned-group and hides himself under a table where he can observe their conversation. "I am Incognito!" the man chuckled at his self-supposed ingenious, in which he then diverged all his attention towards the group in front of him, all the while saying to himself, "Man I look stupid." -A bar patron walks by- "Man he looks stupid." berdyne Posted August 21, 2010 Share #38 Posted August 21, 2010 Giggling Berdyne offers the hat to Midaja with a smile. âOf course you can have it back dear. The others nodding toward the people headed to the tavern also wanted to let you know that if you wanted to join them for a drink you would be welcome to join them.â Waving to Midaja; Berdyne walks to the Drowning Wench for a meal and to hear more about the group the silver anvil. Nikolai Posted August 21, 2010 Share #39 Posted August 21, 2010 "Good Gods, one at a time, all of you!" For a moment, the man sitting at the table looked absolutely horrified at the sheer number of people who had just entered the conversation. However, he quickly regained his composure, pointedly shaking his head as though to snap himself free of an illusion. Brushing a little more dust from his coat, he debonairly declared, "Myself first, naturally. You say you're looking for employees? Well, my name is Nikolai Petrilio, and as it happens, I am an engineer, dedicated to providing swift solutions to even the most complex quandaries. Yet, before I enlist, another question; how do you intend to ensure that all members are equally, or, gods forbid, more dedicated to providing excellent goods and services? I wouldn't want my incredible inventions to be associated with some peddler's junk, after all." At that moment, a youngish looking hyur barmaid with long blonde hair wrapped into a bun arrived at the table looking awfully wary of the boisterous man who had emerged from the privy and knocked aside another of her co-workers. She chimed in with a somewhat forced cheeriness, "Welcome t' tha Wench. Can I get y'all an ale? Best in town." She looked around the table expectantly, and her eyes quickly met with Nikolai's, who looked to be doing his best to look charming, but with his messy hair, dirty coat, and strained expression, he instead appeared quite frazzled to her. She had gotten pretty good at reading her customers and whether they might leave a nice tip, but she wasn't sure about this one. She would work her charms as best she could, taking comfort in that at least, with what would surely be a large order, she would likely get a fair amount anyway. "No thanks; I'd like some mead, myself, and then whatever my two associates here would like," said Nikolai dismissively, motioning to Antrekk and the proprietor. The woman nodded, making note of his order on a pad with an extravagant quillpen and waiting patiently for the remaining orders. Link to comment
Midaja Posted August 22, 2010 Share #40 Posted August 22, 2010 Still happily looking at her recovered far-too-large wizard hat, Midaja didnt even notice the other woman leaving her, but the word "wrench" settled down somewhere in her head, and she was just thinking about visiting said place, when she saw something that wiped the smile from her face immediately: a large crack in her precious hat! "Oh no... Mum will be furious about that..." she murmured before putting the cloth back on her head, pulling it far down, so her fluffy ears plopped out of the holes in the upper part. Nonetheless her ears and tail twitched gladly as she was heading towards the Wench, taking a deep breath of non-boozer air before stepping inside, quickly spotting the now known white-haired Miqo'te and the crazy alchemist, engineer, whatever man. Walking over to them she asked: "Hey, is the big muscleman still anywhere around? The tailor one?" Link to comment
berdyne Posted August 22, 2010 Share #41 Posted August 22, 2010 Entering the tavern Berdyne quietly leans against the post behind the table of people who had given her directions listening to the conversation. Somewhat interested in what Hiname response would be. Link to comment
UnbeknownstGhost Posted August 23, 2010 Share #42 Posted August 23, 2010 Ghost pulled out a small bag of coins and handed it to the serving lady, "If you please get a slice of the fine pie earlier for each of these guests I would be much obliged. Oh, and might you send the shy serving girl that had brought me my pie to fetch the rest of it? It seems that in my dramatic entrance I forgot it. And please keep the change."
