Film Stuffs

Recommended Posts

So yeah, thought I'd make a new thread for film stuffs, not just movies, but short films, indy films and every manner of what you think might be artistic or just plain awesome. I'll start by posting one of my pieces; it's titled 'Paroxysm of Desire' and follows a woman as she literally takes the man she love's heart.

WARNING: THIS VIDEO USES EXCESSIVE STROBED LIGHTING THROUGHOUT. WATCH IN A WELL LIT ROOM.

Enjoy! :D

**edit**

and yes, that chick does have a dragon ball tattoo with the Majin symbol on it. Also, if you're brave enough to watch it more than once, you can see some of the crew briefly holding the strobe lights in one or two shots. lol.

Overall at least they captured the spirit of the game as opposed to say.... the actual two crappy Street fighter movies... god they were dire...

I agree. They actually released the first Street Fighter movie on BluRay, it's called the Ultimate Experience edition, or some such thing, lol. They have the gull to charge more than $5 for it. The BluRay runs like, $15 or $20 I think.

That last one was pure genius, I agree!

First one made my eyes bleed (and I'm not even epileptic and my room was well lit)

Street fighter on was so much better than the actual two.. wait, there were TWO Street Fighter movies? My brain must have refused to register the 2nd one after I seen the 1st. o_O

Anyone else thought Ryu kinda looked like Frodo, at first? In the woods with that cloth thing all over him? Sure wasn't Sam catching up with him, though.

Mortal Kombat one I had seen before and it was indeed great. Not exactly MK-ish, though, in that regard, the actualy first movie captured the essence of the game better, but if we call it a modernized "inspired from" version, I buy.

That was made as a pitch to make it a movie (I forget which production company they sent it to) but it was rejected, so now they're turning that version of MK into a video game, apparently.

Ahh yes, I had forgotten about this one. All you fans of Lord of the Rings here ya go:

The Hunt for Gollum

It's not the best thing in the world, but c'mon. Give the guy's credit, they shot it with less than $5,000. That little street fighter movie posted above cost more than that and it's not even 1/4 the length of this one! Enjoy!

*ADD ON*

I found this while browsing around on youtube, apparently the movie has been out for more than a year but I'm having troubles finding it. If you like Star Wars, here ya go:

Again, it's not the greatest thing in the world. In my opinion, it looks like they spent more time on CG environments and effects than they did on color correction...those two things to together like peas and carrots. One scene LOOKS like it was shot in a local park (you'll know what I'm talking about) when that's as easy to fix as putting the chain back on the gear of your bike. Then again, you really have to give these guys credit. People may bitch and moan, but I'd like to see those people make a movie half as good as that. It's not that easy folks.

Well, I finished uploading some video's to youtube for my website portfolio, and I thought I'd share this one

It was for a compositing class where we had to... well do stuff with compositing. Not to toot my own horn, but my project had the best green screen keying out of the ENTIRE class. 'Why?' you ask? Because I'm the man, that's why! I play the boss in this video that's wearing the Animal t-shirt. That's right. Animal, because "I Rock!"

Everyone should watch this, it's an amazing video and story:

;_;

Yes, indeed it is sad, but so awesome at the same time. And all done with Blender, a free open source 3D program. Some talented people out there.

btw, Noëlle, I read your character profile, I've been reading a lot of profiles lately, and I loved it. I've noticed a lot of people doing those tv tropes things and peoples profiles are huge! Makes Nedral's seem like nothing, even though I've put a great deal of time into it, and it's not finished, lol.
