Levi Druthers Posted September 1, 2013 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2013 That when I make a post under something, it doesn't go into the old post I made? I am writing something up, but I want the second post in the thread to be reserved. But every time I do it, it just makes a line and puts my post in the first I made, NOT in a new post. Naunet Posted September 2, 2013 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2013 I don't know; I think it's time-based. It's incredibly annoying, though, especially when I'm trying to format a thread for posting a story so that it's more easily readable. I wish I could disable it. Link to comment

Okay thanks. I'll confirm this. It is time based. I can't say exactly how long because I don't know, but I always wait about 5-10 minutes before posting again just to avoid the issue. Seems to work. Torvhan Posted September 4, 2013 Share #5 Posted September 4, 2013 This is a configurable setting in MyBB. That would have been set by our board admin, couldn't find a default time, looks like its normally disabled unless it is enabled by the board admin. So you would have to ask for the time limit. For those admin types who are curious or run their own boards: Go to: ACP > Configurations > Posting > and Enter `Number of seconds` for merging in "Post merge Time" option field. You would also need to Add Forums and groups who can post posts one after the other without merging. Link to comment
