I'm new to hydaelyn, and need help.

hello everyone, I'm new to this land and I'm kinda lost in all this. I tried RP before and loved it. One of the troubles I am having is that my server is on JP/ Typhoon. I can't seem to enter Gilgamesh or Balmung. I am will to wait until they open the server. What should be my next step to step into the world of Rp?

Hi Will,

 

They've announced a big maintenance fix starting tomorrow at 5pm pacific. My hope is that a lot of the issues we are currently having will be alleviated after it is over. So my advice is hang tight until Wednesday morning.

I'm sorry you haven't been able to get on Gilgamesh or Balmung yet. Like Desmond said, hopefully some slots will open up with the server maintenance. Good luck!

 

It's storming outside right now, and I can't log in to play, so to keep myself from going a little crazy I'm trying to make a character sheet. Do you have any idea what your character will be like? Maybe think a bit on their background, and their motives and personality. If you need any help brainstorming, I'm sure several of us would be more than happy to.

 

You could also take a look at the Town Square section of the forums, where a lot of people post their stories. A few of them have inspired me to write a little. This one is my favorite so far. One major part of everyone's character is the Calamity--were they at the battle, what were they doing, how they were affected. Those are a few things to think on.

Thanks for the info guys, the Character sheet sound like fun, btw Tirra the Character sheet you sent me was great. Is there a page on this site that helps in making a character, and the rule's in make one. sorry for all the Q I'm a bit of a noob. Thanks again.

This website has character sheets in the form of wikis! If you go to the top of the navagation bar, click on Wiki, it will take you to the RPC Library. On the left-hand side, go to Characters, and Player Characters, and you will find a long list of character sheets.

 

There is no hard set of rules in making a character, and everyone's wiki is a little bit different. Some people will post long histories or rumors about their character, while others just want to share basic information, like appearances, how old they are and where they're from. Take a look at a few of them, and develop your own preferences. =^^=

EDIT: For guidelines on how to maximize RP, I'd suggest checking the RP Handbook (or whatever it's called) that we have on our site. If you can't seem to think of a good idea for a character and want to see what the rest of us have done, you can check the RPC Library on our wiki page as Tirra pointed out earlier.
