Smiling River Posted August 22, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2010 Discussion thread since everyone else has one Here you can voice your questions, comments, concerns, etc. regarding the A.E.T.H.E.R. Linkshell. If you're mean, we'll stop doing your math homework. Link to comment
Lunavati Posted August 30, 2010 Share #2 Posted August 30, 2010 A.E.T.H.E.R. intrigues me, and my gaming partner, Dranmarth. He is not new to the Final Fantasy worlds; I am. Off to read lore and then try to write a character bio that does not make me cringe. Great work on the Linkshell. Mia Link to comment
Smiling River Posted August 30, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted August 30, 2010 Thanks for the enthusiasm! :cheer: If you want me to take a look at your bio and toss you some feedback prior to our doors being officially re-opened (aka the application questions resulting in bloodbath) send it over. You can PM me here or our forums, thanks! A slight update; we've had our first meeting and there are a lot of interesting concepts in the works, stay tuned to the main thread over in the Guild Hall :approve: Link to comment
Lunavati Posted August 30, 2010 Share #4 Posted August 30, 2010 Thanks, Mason, appreciate it mucho. I wrote up a draft last night, and *coughs* I am at work today, but may pm it over to you later today. Trying to get the geography/social aspects, not to mention the personal, to work without ever having seen the world making me a bit nuts. Mia Link to comment
Nbokkri Posted August 30, 2010 Share #5 Posted August 30, 2010 *coughs* I am at work today D: Such a horrible person! Work is for work *nods* It's only acceptable if you have nothing to do like me ^^ Link to comment
Lunavati Posted August 30, 2010 Share #6 Posted August 30, 2010 I have work, let me see, oh yes, right here: Find out where Mia's clans live. Yep. First order of business. And I guess I can grade a bit, sigh.... Link to comment

Lunavati Posted August 30, 2010 Share #8 Posted August 30, 2010 Shhh....don't tell anybody, but I teach college-level literature and humanties :geek: Link to comment
Dranmarth Posted August 30, 2010 Share #9 Posted August 30, 2010 Yes, she's a naughty teacher that games at work and only grades when she REALLY has to, no apples for her! As a side note, I'm also hashing out some stuff with my character bio and background, hope to have a good one for when applications re-open, looking forward to hopefully getting involved with A.E.T.H.E.R. Lunavati Posted August 30, 2010 Share #10 Posted August 30, 2010 Hey, Dran! And I will have you know my students bring me much more interesting things than apples :study: Link to comment

Lunavati Posted August 31, 2010 Share #12 Posted August 31, 2010 Haha, they tend to bring me things like fossils, rocks, minerals, family stories, pictures, a kitten once, and best of all, a three-foot tall animated, singing Frankenstein in honor of our reading/studying Mary Shelley one rainy October :study: Link to comment
Nbokkri Posted August 31, 2010 Share #13 Posted August 31, 2010 Nice : ) I was going to try going for teaching English at one point. Ended up in software instead... it's interesting where life can lead us. But I can say one thing: no one brings me anything but problems in software lol. *shakes fist at the sky* Link to comment
Lunavati Posted August 31, 2010 Share #14 Posted August 31, 2010 I get those tech support issues too. I teach online, so am always trouble-shooting for students, and then teaching faculty who like to open attachments in emails. *shiver* But I don't have to do software issues all day--know that gets draining. A.E.T.H.E.R. folk will be good to hang out with and let you blow off frustration. Wonder if they are going to be doing events? What kind? Mia Link to comment
Nbokkri Posted September 1, 2010 Share #15 Posted September 1, 2010 We've been tossing around ideas, but we're really trying to figure out something that would be fun. It can be difficult coming up with events that don't result in people just coming and standing around for an hour or longer... *memories of Aion come flooding back* Come launch we'll hopefully have some ideas : ) Link to comment
Smiling River Posted September 1, 2010 Author Share #16 Posted September 1, 2010 Ideas we do have plenty. However I'm not sure if I should spoil it here or wait until they are a little more refined and can be posted up officially by our beloved (hated) leader. I'm going to be very coy here and put a winky smiley at the end of this. Link to comment

Cause those could certainly be boring. Link to comment

Cause those could certainly be boring. *cough* Wouldn't want to mention any names... There were a lot of other RP events that were kinda lame though. One of the ones I enjoyed running (though I'm not sure how fun it was for the participants) was the Keravi scavanger hunt. We kind forced people together into groups and had quite a bit of fun coming up with clues and such ^^ Link to comment
Dranmarth Posted September 1, 2010 Share #20 Posted September 1, 2010 Yup, took part in that one a few times, it was fun, and it's ok, in retrospect, that concert idea was a horrible one for Aion, now if it had been done for Lotro, it would have worked pretty well seeing as how lotro has an ingame music system. Alvaruz Posted September 1, 2010 Share #21 Posted September 1, 2010 Hey, I did a strip-tease in a Moslan concert once and propose to my girlfriend in there! You just had to make sure you make something out of the ordinary, not just telling sentence and your song... Maybe the two only songs who kinda had some kind of interactivity with the crowd during the 8 months I went at those events... But I agree that we need some kind of interactivity with the people... There was one event, a Karnival at the begining of Aion, where there was a duel championship, that was fun... Link to comment
Tanusri Posted September 1, 2010 Share #22 Posted September 1, 2010 You know I can tell you there was nothing I hated more then being forced to go to that damn event... well maybe one more reason in that game... But yes Alva thank you for the striptease... It was funny cause I wasn't paying attention when you were doing it so I had to suddenly re-read like 15 mins of RP in 30secs, so I could reply. Asyria Posted October 5, 2010 Share #24 Posted October 5, 2010 Quick question regarding the lasted update/announcement in the guild Hall thread... Why the IC Bulletin Board open to the community at large on your boards when there already is an IC Bulletin Board here? My unnecessary duplicate-sense are tingling. ^^ Link to comment
DAISHI Posted October 5, 2010 Share #25 Posted October 5, 2010 Perhaps somebody is on their board and has a question they want to ask ICly? Or perhaps they've got a deep interest in A.E.T.H.E.R. and feels like inquiring? Given AETHER's commitment to RP I can see how it would be beneficial to have such a board on their forums.
