The grip on the bare neck tightened, gloved hands reached to hold the wrist of the aggressor weakly. "You hold no chance, Aoelus'a. Nothing will stop the Primal." The Roegadyn's attacker bore teeth in a smile, his Miqo'te eyes covered by longer bangs of dark red with white highlights. Though she was choking the female Roegadyn gave out a smirk, the light in her eyes was fading quickly. "You can protect your other... but who will protect you?"

The head of the Miqo'te lifted enough to reveal his face. His amused face was gone as his eyes peered into her, shifting and swirling one consumed even the pupil in pure white, the other pure black. Both searched her and held no more appeal than endless voids. His fangs poked out from under his upper lip and held over his lower lip constantly without need to bare them. Holding her neck with one arm his voice slid out from his lips with a darkness like an unwanted demon's; corruption with a want for purity.

"No one. Only this one needs it." He spoke as his fingers tightened, the metal of his armor shifting with his movements and only muffled slightly by the sounds of the bones inside the woman's neck cracking. She gave off no sound as her strength waned until she dangled helple-

"Woah woah woah woah woah."

"What?"

"You're telling me that not only did he chase after to fight a primal -by himself-, but he lifted up a Roegadyn and choked her and snapped her neck with one hand."

Two Hyur and a Miqo'te males sat around a table, cards in hand and beer bottles between them. Each were armored well enough and kept their weapons laying against the table.

"I'm telling you that's what happened." The Highlander Hyur spoke loudly as he looked to the others.

"Buuuuulllshiiiit."  The Miqo'te spoke, intoxicated as he shook his head. "The boss is weird, but he's not strong or anything like that. He gives Miqo'te a bad name walking around acting like he's so cold. I bet he's a fluffy little puppy on the inside."

"You mean kitty."

"What?"

"He's a Miqo'te...so you mean fluffy little kitty."

The Miqo'te shook his head again. "No, he weirds me out. I am going to think of him as a dog until he doesn't frighten me."

The Midlander took a swig from his bottle and looked at the other two, smirking and blushing in early intoxication. "And what's up with the way he speaks? Who the hell is 'this one'? And 'the third'?" He snorted in a small laughter. "I think he carries around mice or something."

The Highlander nodded slowly. "Yeah, he talks in the third person...or that's what it sounds like... it's fucking weird."

"You know what else is pretty weird?" The three turned around to the noise; an armored Miqo'te stood behind them with his arms crossed, his lips curled down in an un-amused look. "When I tell three idiots to guard the entrance when I say I'll be back later to check something out. They instead get 3 beers each and are playing cards before I even left and commence talking about their boss behind his back." The standing Miqo'te leaned forward and turned like a crane to turn to each, stopping at the Midlander. His hands held each other behind his back. His gaze into each offered the thought of oblivion as his eyes were as described in the Hyur's story.

The three men stood up quickly saluting and shaking. A-A-A-Aoelus'a..ss-s-s-sir!" The largest spoke out in his salute. They stood there momentarily in silence as Aoelus'a's pupiless eyes searched the three, his frown deepening as the seconds rolled on without noise.

"GET MOVING" He screamed at the guards, his hands to his sides now in fists. "Or we'll be playing Go-Fish with your LIVES!" He looked to the other Miqo'te, his glare hard to make out without vision of any eyes besides voids, but much too easy to piece together that he wasn't happy. "I think you'll enjoy it the most, little fluffy kitty."

The three moved out of he room quickly, making sure to grab their weapons before heading out. The Midlander leaned back into the doorway, looking to Aoelus'a. "Hey...boss?"

"What?"

"Have you ever chased after and fought a primal...and could you pick up a Roegadyn with one arm?"

Aoelus'a looked to him for a second, then turning his surprised gaze at his own bicep. He was certainly muscular, but not overly big for his race and would never be able to pick up something that big with one hand. His wide-eyed stare shifted back to the Hyur slowly before speaking softly in his demonic voice.

"You're an absolute idiot, Rourrick. Get out of here before I catch your stupidity."

The Hyur blushed and half-saluted before leaving. Aoelus'a sighed as he looked down; he crossed his arms again and closed his eyes.

"Hey, Aoelus'a, you should be head-of-security for Ambrosia. It'll be fun, Aoelus'a... and you'll be able to protect people like you allllwaaays wanted." He inhaled deeply and exhaled the same as he picked up an un-opened beer on the table the others sat at and popped it open, drinking quickly from it.

"Fuck you, Aoelus'a. How can the original voice inside my own head have such shitty ideas?"

"No...yes......No.."

The Miqo'te walked down the road, his hands pocketed inside his crossed arms. Taking a few steps further he began to speak out loud more, with no obvious target for his words.

"No...wait! ...No again." He smiled, his fangs poking out harmlessly over his lower lip as he turned around to look at the building he had made distance from. The breeze offered comfort, even in the colder embrace of the night. The lighting of the area was poor, buildings were blackened out and road lights were few and far between. Tilting his head up the armored Miqo'te straightened his face at the sight of the equally dimly lit structure.

"Ambrosia.." He started to scowl as he peered to the door as best he could from the distance. His face softened though and his scowl turned a guilty frown as he looked over the rest of the structure's features. His eyebrow suddenly furrowed and he turned around, waving a a hand in front of his face in an agitated fashion, the lance he armed himself with dangled on his back. "Yeah, yeah, I know. You -have- to be right, don't you?"

Turning his shoulders around he once more continued down the poorly visible road. His eyes searched the ground as his lips were curled down in a mustered state of sadness. A toothpick dangled lightly between his lips and his fangs after he remembered he had taken one to chew on. His pupiless eyes watched the ground and moved about frantically, as if he was spending more time thinking - or arguing, than watching where he was going. He stayed unattentive to his surroundings as his face shifted as if he was listening to someone speak. His ears, however, did not twitch or flutter as they usually did.  He ceased movement a moment later, looking up to nothing and no one, but speaking allowed. His white eye swirled with a darkness and he spoke in a much more demonic voice.

"Shut up right now, you have no business...you..." His eyes began to water and whiten with color as his fists clenched to his sides. "Don't bring her up! Shut up! Shut up!" If anyone was watching, they would see the suffering man hit himself in the head with the smaller knuckles on both fist. He stopped after a moment, shaking his head, panting for breath as his eyes swirled between the two colors constantly until balancing out to his usual look- white and black.

Taking a moment the settled man would wipe a sleeve across his face, careful to not drag any metal or spikes across his eyes. "Quit being an idiot, we're going to go see her if you'd calm down for 5 minutes. You look crazy." He couldn't help but take amusement in himself, chuckling momentarily before stopping quickly, his ears fluttering 3 times in quick succession like a butterfly; he was stopped by a voice not in his head.

"Crazy is just the word I was looking for." Aoelus'a turned around, peering at the man who spoke out. He was a shorter Hyur man with spiked brown hair, though it seems as if it was that way from smoke or dirt than it was styled. He wore thick goggles over his face and his grin was wide. He dawned cloth robes, white as if he was trying to mimic a lab-coat but failed miserably. Kneeling down the unusual Hyur man spoke with a raspy and older sounding voice. He held out a small amount of food low the the ground as he tried to beckon Aoelus'a over. "Heeerree kitty kitty...tch tch tch...kiiiiittyy."

Aoelus'a scowled and gripped his lance over his right shoulder. "Yup, you have a one-in-one chance of fucking dying after that, old man." Before he could fully unsheathe his weapon, the Hyur man pointed behind him and called out.

"Now, Arluck! Flip the switch!"

Turning around Aoelus'a would see an enormous figure; a Roegadyn male even bigger than natural size. He held a switch in the palm of his hand, much too small in proportion to his palm. Taking a finger he lightly pressed against the switch. "Sorry, kitty." Was all he said as he flipped it; the switch connected itself to wires that ran off of Aoelus'a vision. He quickly followed to what they were only to realize they led to a normal wooden barrel.

"What was that supposed to-" He turned his head to look at the switch again but was stopped. The large Roegadyn had used the time to walk up to him and punch the side of his head pretty hard, instantly knocking the Miqo'te to the ground. His vision faded to black as he only heard voices before losing consciousness.

"Boss...I still don't see why we needed da' switch. I could of just of punching him from start?"

"Because I'm the scientist, Arluck. Not shut up and grab his body. This will much more fun with a crazy kitty."

A groggy haze came over Aoelus'a, his eyes barely opening and only a blur overtook his vision. A force pushed at the top of his head, starting at his forehead and pulling to the back of his head. His ears twitched and shifted back with each touch and it was still a few moments later before he registered what was happening.

He lied on a reclined table, lights beaming in his face and it took the Moon keeper even longer to register his vision properly. His eyes attempting to open, but wincing at each time the pressure repeated itself on his head. He finally caught vision of what was happening and a frown overtook his lips.

"Good kitty!"

It was the Roegadyn, his large hand resting on the Miqo'te's head before pulling all the way back, petting him harshly. "What a soft kitty!" The Roegadyn was not gently with the petting, and it took a few seconds before Aoelus'a glared up to him in-between the pets.

"Don't...touch...me..."

The large man looked down, his smile widening as he heard the feline speak.

"Kitty! You're awake! Boss! Kitty is awake!" His head turned and he stood up. Aoelus'a was glad at least that the petting had stopped. He shook his head a moment to re-adjust his hair, though the significance of looking spiffy here was quite low. A voice rang out from the other room, echoing along the walls.

"Perfect! The tests can begin! I'll be there in just a second!" The voice wasn't hard to to connect to an owner, considering it felt like just seconds since their last meeting to Aoelus'a. A second later a drill was heard from from the other room, followed by a small cackle. "Hahaha...yes..that'll go through nicely!"

Eyes widening the Miqo'te started to look around. His vision still blurring the only thing he could see was the largest thing there, the Roegadyn.

"Pssst, hey! ...Hey!" He began pulling at the restraints and whispering loudly, hoping to only catch the attention of the large brute. Fortunately the large man turning around, giving off only a slightly confused exhale. Aoelus'a continued talking to him quietly.

"Do you enjoy Petting kitty?"

"Yes! Yes!" The brute began to clap. "Arluck loves soft kitty!"

Aoelus'a winced in agitation, scowling but shaking his head and trying to pull off a helpless look.

"Listen, Arluck. That man you work for wants to hurt kitty."

Arluck shrugged with a saddened whimper. "Yeah...but boss says It'll be fun. I'm going to miss kitty..."

Aoelus'a's expression deepened with worry. "But...wouldn't it be more fun to pet kitty all the time? When he's done with me, you'll never have any kitties to pet, ever again. Never." Arluck's face twisted, confusion taking over as he suddenly became visibly conflicted. "Let kitty go, and you can pet kitty as much as you want."

Arluck looked to him, then to the doorway, hearing the drill go off again. Turning back to the Miqo'te he looked genuinely sad. "As much as Arluck wants?P-..promise?"

A small guilty frown came over Aoelus'a's lips before hearing the drill once more, shaking his head and looking to the man. "Kitty promises! Just hurry!"

A moment passed by as the Roegadyn began to pace. "But boss will...I'll...I want to pet.." A loud huff came passed his lips as he rushed to Aoelus'a side, unstrapping his wrists and ankles. Aoelus'a quickly rose and started to run, but stopped and turned to the massive man. The sky-scraper of a man was watching him without moving, his eyes watering. Sighing Aoelus'a moved back to the Roegadyn and leaned his head forward.

"Yaaaay!" Echoed out the towering man's lips as he pet Aoelus'a one more time, instantly picking him up to hug him tight. A noise blurted from the Feline-man's mouth  as his bones were nearly crushed. Once let go he gave a small wave and a comforted smirk.

"What the hell is going on out ther-" The lab-coated man walked through the doorway, stopping instantly as he saw Aoelus'a waving to him with a sinister smile as he ran out of the the room. Arluck was waving as well, but to Aoelus'a and with a gigantic smile. The scientist dropped a tray full of stuff, drills and glass hit the ground, most of the equipment breaking on impact.

Shifting around corners Aoelus'a sprinted through the many rooms the labs had consisted itself of. Reaching to a room that held a brighter light at the end he sprinted harder, only to be stopped by two figures. Both the mad scientist and the Roegadyn stood in his path. Staring at the two with utmost confusion words finally expressed themselves in the most gentle way the Miqo'te could muster.

"How the fucking-fuck did you do that?"

The scientist laughed, pushing at the wall beside him. It spun and led directly to the room that Aoelus'a had started in. Arluck looked to the both of them, but said nothing, an expression of sorrow on his face.

"Fear me, mortal!" The scientist bellowed. He held out a book and the pages flipped wildly. A light chained itself from the book to his extended hand, pointing right at Aoelus'a. The light grew brighter, the chain slowly pointing out from his gloved palm. He laughed maniacally as the small chain turned to a ball, the brightness blinding before it was stopped entirely.

Arluck had gripped the scientist with a bear hug, looking to Aoelus'a. "Eradinamicate!"

Aoelus'a only stood there for a moment, staring at the burly man. "...What?"

Arluck motioned his face to the stairs next to Aoelus'a, calling out again as he fought the wiggling scientist. "Go! Stairs! Eradmaticate!"

Aoelus'a turned to the stairs, shrugging and quickly climbing them. The room he entered was a walled off balcony, looking over the room that the other two were in. A window peered through the concrete wall that watched over the other two. To the middle he saw a wooden switch. It was the only thing in the room besides a note underneath it. The note read in all capitals "ERADICATE".

Aoelus'a stared at it for a moment a smirk overcoming his lips. His fangs bore themselves more as his demonic voice slid from his teeth.

"Oh...oh yes..."

  • 3 weeks later...

"Wh...what the fuck..." Were the words that escaped the Miqo'te's lips while he watched the scene below. Moments prior he had pulled down the wooden switch and gazed deep into the goggles of the man willing to drill into him while doors slowly opened downstairs. The misunderstanding part, though, was what was to come out of those doors.

Butterflies...it was butterflies. Small winged insects fluttered out of the doorways but the hundreds, and the most disturbing part was the scientist's reaction.

"Noooo!" The scientist screamed, falling to his knees and flailing his arms about wildly. "You inconceivable monster!"

Aoelus'a could not speak after watching the scene in motion. Arluck danced about in the field of butterflies while the scientist screamed for his life. The irrational fear of the goggled Hyur who wanted to extract a whole sternum was too far gone for Aoelus'a to understand. Watching a moment longer he turned, pushing the door open and climbing down the stairs. Moving passed the large open room filled with color insects he walked right by the both of them. He paid little attention to them as both were preoccupied with the butterflies in their own way.

Moving outside he had scanned the area after gaining some distance from the normal looking building he had left. The area was lush and filled with trees. The sights not entirely foreign to him and he smiled.

"We are but a few minutes from Gridania." He exclaimed with a small smile while noticing his surroundings. Hills covered the area largely and frequently, almost surrounded as he was by them. Taking a moment to sigh he began climbing the first one straight from the exit of the lab. Halfway up it dawned on him.

"I need a weapon."
