II. RP Style

  • Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy):

Hum, I would consider myself a medium Roleplayer. For the most part, after I finish leveling that is, I tend to focus solely on roleplaying and might tip into Heavy. But as of right now, I am working hard to grind out the levels so that I can roleplay anywhere without the fear of being attacked by a creature + levels above me. My focus is on Caleb for now, I'd like to get him established in the RP community before I attempt bring any alt characters into the scene.
  • Views on RP combat and injuries:

So long as the injuries don't involve loss of limb, losing an eye or permanent damage I'm perfectly fine with leaving the injury to the dice gods. In fact to be honest, when in combat with another player OR NPC I prefer to roll for my actions, and be rolled against. But when it comes to losing limbs I don't leave that to chance, especially since the dice gods seem to take particular pleasure in my misfortune.
  • Views on IC romance:

I'm not at all opposed to it, if my character clicks with someone else's character and IC romance buds from it I'm down. I think a lot of people might mistake IC romance for "ERP" and the two are very different in my eyes. ERP is just people looking to get their rocks off, IC romance is player immersion and usually stems from a deep character connection rather then a "greet and beat".
  • Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc):

All for family ties if people want to play them. Both of Caleb's Parents are still alive, he has an Identical Twin Brother and a Younger Sister who can all be played out by others if it so pleases them. Beyond those 4 characters I haven't introduced any others to his backstory, and the aforementioned are still works in progress themselves. I can keep their names, descriptions etc vague so that people can have their own take on said characters. Well save for the description of his Identical Twin Brother..who is well..Identical.
  • Views on lore:

I tend to stick as close to the game lore as possible, when naming my Miqo'te and Roegaydn I made sure to look up the naming conventions of Square Enix so that lorewise their names would make sense. I try to roleplay within the FF14 lore as well, and that is a continuing learning experience. The name thing was just something I personally felt the desire to do, I don't hold it against anyone that didn't use the lore naming convention for their race. As I myself am learning about FF14 Lore, I'm pretty tolerant when it comes to new roleplayers. That said I do draw a line when people start wanting to play vampires and werewolves.
  • Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc):

Generally all of my IC chat is in /say and /tells, occasionally I will make an IC post in linkshells. But I try and use the proper chat function depending on how loud my character is being at that point. /tell would be if he was whispering to someone and others would not be able to hear him. /say for when he is talking at normal volume, and /linkshell if he is trying to contact someone who is nowhere near him. Party chat is almost always OOC for me and If I see others talking in /Linkshell OOC I generally will take that as a sign that it's Ok provided ((brackets)) are used.
