I've switched from Figaro to Besaid after seeing some of the communities that would be on these servers, and I agree, Besaid seems like a safe choice for now. None of the groups are really throwing their hats onto that server, and as someone mentioned it's still a fairly small server, which we would easily bump up to a medium server.

I personally don't care one way or the other whether we end up on Lindblum or Besaid. And regardless of where this poll stands in less than 5 hours, I hope everyone will be 100% supportive of the decision. The entire purpose of the RPC is to unite the RP community. So please keep that in mind tonight.

 

If Besaid happens to win and you're on Lindblum already, you can hold off rerolling until release and just create an alt on the server to hold your name or something. That way, it's not overly inconvenient to anyone to stop what they're doing and go through the character creation process yet again. Bear in mind though that all character data will be deleted at the end of beta (save names).

I just tested it and it works fine. After selecting it, click submit. A vote will go away from what it was and go to where you just changed it.

Didnt do that for me it took my vote off cornelia and changed it to Besaid

Might be something on your end. I'm no expert or tech. dude or admin, but I just tried switching my vote to Gyasahl, then back to Lindblum, and it worked fine both times, removing a vote from one and adding to the other.

I don't believe there was any concrete evidence of that, outside of some random "Where are you rolling?" polls. I tried to find more info, but there really wasn't much. I believe Besaid remains, for the most part, unclaimed by any major groups.

 

Lindblum, meanwhile, definitely has a presence from Core.

No it don't just changed my vote from Lindblum to Besaid, took the vote from

Lindblum and added it to Besaid, didn't add another at all, if you look at the top of the poll you can see it says one vote, but theres also still new people voting maybe that was what you saw

Hm. At first blush, I found myself agreeing with you, but upon further thought... no, I don't really agree. I made no statements as to the tendencies or personalities of RPers. In fact, if anything, I argued against us developing such a definite self-image! Had I made general statements about the RP community, there'd be a clear parallel, but as I haven't... There's no real basis of comparison upon which a contradiction could be founded. I feel that my points remain undiminished.

Cheers to that. I have much respect for democracy, especially when it involves my fellow RP community. I'll go to whaterver server get's voted on....at least, if I'm able to when it comes out for the PS3.

I know people don't necessarily care one way or another but for people who want to reserve their character name for release it could be a problem.

Same reason people still prefer to vote for the Independent party rather than Republican or Democrat. It's all about expressing the freedoms we deserve.

I am quite surprised Wutai isn't the Sephiroth/Kefka server with all the FF& fan boys (myself included). ( was just as epic though so I'm not surprised it ended up taking that slot.

I guess I believe in democracy to a certain extent as well.. Since I'd like my choice to be seen.. Instead of riding with the wave, also.. There's no such thing as a wasted vote.
