Brynhilde Posted October 22, 2013 Share #1 Posted October 22, 2013 Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knew of a parser program for FFXIV that I could use to record chat logs. I am sad that I can't refer back to my RPs once I've logged out of the game. :< Link to comment
Naunet Posted October 22, 2013 Share #2 Posted October 22, 2013 I don't know, but I just highlight and copy/paste RP for record keeping. Very easy! So much better than TERA, where I had to screenshot everything and then manually type it all back up... @.@ Link to comment
Olofantur Posted October 22, 2013 Share #3 Posted October 22, 2013 Greeting Bryn, I've done some work on, and highly suggest using http://ffxiv-app.com/ While I worked mostly on the DPS and HPS calculation side, the chat log recorder is quite capable as well. Its still being tweaked but the current build is very stable. Hope that helps, and feel free to ask any questions you have about it. As a note for Scholars, yes it has a problem parsing preventative damage, its an old problem thats still being looked at. Link to comment
Twinflame Posted October 22, 2013 Share #4 Posted October 22, 2013 Do you mean FFXI or FFXIV, Bryn? Olofantur, long as you're here: I was told that the dps parser in ffxiv-app did not include dot damage into a person's dps. That factual or fibular? (Twin knows that fibular is not a word. No reason to tell him.) Link to comment

That factual or fibular? Its spotty, at cast first tick is recorded accurately, the following ticks can have a problem being recorded. My logs are usually pretty on par with others for end game. Early dungeons are arguably worse, particularly with arcanists who pick up aero and lightning when there's already a Conj or Thm in the party who actively cast them. Hopefully (fingers crossed) the script for identifying damage live per user will get better as it gets retooled. Also tweaking the setting to remove system messages and superfluous tracking can help the application to not be such a resource hog. Link to comment

I'll do some poking around at its settings and just keep an eye out for updates, then. Link to comment
Haven's Fox Posted October 24, 2013 Share #8 Posted October 24, 2013 For a second option there is this http://xivparser.com/summary/ . I have had this one up for the last few days myself after I went looking. Link to comment
