Tolka Posted January 11, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 11, 2014 Ok so i'm going to make a new character and for part of his back story i want to make him wear the Highland hood like all though out the game like i was going to put in the back story when he gets this item he wears it all the time because it reminds him of his home even though it not like the best armor in the game and every class can use it at lVl1 would it be a bad thing to roleplay like this or would it just look wierd? FreelanceWizard Posted January 11, 2014 Share #2 Posted January 11, 2014 I don't think there's anything wrong with this in social RP, seeing as you have a narrative reason for it. Such commitment will likely start some conversations ("Why are you wearing that with full plate armor?"). That said, in combat situations, opting out of more effective armor for personal reasons is definitely going to provoke some (likely negative) reactions ICly. OOC, it's especially problematic, because it's disadvantaging yourself and your group for the purposes of RP. With a group you're familiar with and is okay with it, it's not a big deal, but others might view it as crossing a red line (RP should not impact gameplay). Link to comment

It keeps the whole thing IC, too, which is a plus. 1 Link to comment

LiadansWhisper Posted January 11, 2014 Share #6 Posted January 11, 2014 The Highland Hood is a crafted item. http://xivdb.com/?search/highland-hood Just get the materials together (the Blue Fox Hide is a rare drop from Goatskin treasure maps, if I'm not mistaken) and take it to a Leatherworker.
