Ciel Posted January 12, 2014 Share #1 Posted January 12, 2014 RPing in the game is great, but sometimes you just want to explore character development a little bit more and really work on crafting a story, or new experiences, around your character. As we've seen on here, the forums can be a good place for some general RP, but there are also other options which some of you may be familiar with. Others might not even be aware that it's a thing. For the past 15 or so years, I've been an admin on a text-based roleplaying game based around the Final Fantasy series. It's been a wonderful creative outlet, and it's opened the door for a lot of varied RP which can't always be had on an MMO. It differs from forum RP in only a couple of ways, but they are significant differences. 1. You are RPing with other players in a live environment, much as you would in an MMO. 2. A character application IS required, but it's a great way to get into the character's head and explore where you want to go with them. Character development still happens over time, and through interactions with others. One of the best parts? You can interact with characters from other titles in the series in an environment which makes sense. You can also play a character that you wouldn't normally have control of. For example... you could play Hildibrand, or Merlwyb. Take your pick, there are plenty to choose from, or you could craft a version of your existing FF14 character. So if this would be of interest to any of you, feel free to swing by our wiki and have a look through the menu tabs. Mind you we will be streamlining a few things in the near future, but it will only help accessibility. http://ffmux.play-hookey.com/wiki/ Link to comment
