  • Profession: Garlean Fugitive (Soldier and 'tinkerer')
  • Linkshells: Open RP,
  • Primary RP linkshell: None
  • Free Company: temp - Free Wing Society

 

II. RP Style

 

  • Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy):
    I'm capable of all types of rp, though all in all I am generally a heavy para rp'er (That's also a heavy gamer so enjoys mixing the two when I can). I 'will' adapt to the circumstances however, whether it's a larger group or a faster paced scene.
     
  • Views on RP combat and injuries:
    No matter what is going on, I strongly encourage ICA=ICC (In character action = in character consequences). If you do something that draws attention onto your character negatively, it's common rp etiquette to play things out accordingly if people feel a desire to react to what's happened. If you can communicate with an opposing player to work through FUN and reasonably take and gives through fighting then I support that very much. If you find it difficult to concede willingly in taking hits in a reasonable or realistic circumstance even though you've given them OR you want to spice things up with chance, then dice is a good way to go (the attacker rolls, the defender rolls to resist/dodge) Even if there are dice however, I feel that a large part of confrontation like that needs consent and a willingness to meet each other half way to enjoy the overall outcome. Whether you get your ass kicked or vice versa. Everyone needs to work together to have fun after all. As for injuries, if no magic is available then I usually follow a rule of thumb regarding typical rl human recovery speeds for all races. If magic is part of it, most people agree that too much aetheric influence is very bad for the body so healing by way of white magic is not a catch all deus ex to recuperating imo EVER. All in all this is also a means to an end of some sort of rp. just have fun with it, I'll play on injuries or handicaps for a realistic time, with or without the fantastic presence of 'magic'.
     
  • Views on IC romance:
    I feel the same way about this the same way I feel about IC confrontation, torture, death, platonic relationships and ERP. It's all a type of rp that can be used in rp to enhance the interaction in small or large ways. I don't normally get into myself, but "shit happens" as it were and some characters get along better than others. So long as a player can walk into and out of that rp, or any of those types of rp's without it influencing the ooc interaction then I see no reason to exclude it from a potential direction.
     
  • Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc):

  • Views on lore:
    Lore is a guideline and nothing more. There are social norms, acceptable adaptations and believable interpretations. It's the environment, the theme of the lore in general that needs to be honored in the act of rp'ing in situations like this. In mmo's. Honestly I feel there are no certainties where adaptable lore is concerned, however there are a few facts here and there as a sort of law to the world that needs to be respected through rp, no matter the rp. It's often mocked when one mentions wanting 'believable' rp in a fantasy setting, but it's not unthinkable where you can draw a line to what is norm and believable in certain contexts within that sort of world. Magic can only be the deux ex machina so many times before it gets incredibly boring, so creative boundaries are fun too :)
     
  • Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc):
    I'm not really sure what to say here... they're ok? xD
    I think that pearls and say should be kept for IC interaction if you're rp'ing. there are some specified ooc pearls which is perfectly fine and so long as you're not around anyone rp'ing, speaking in local oocly is fine too. Though normally whenever I speak in local oocly I automatically add brackets out of habit. Where tells are concerned... I do think that there could be some such pieces of technology (albeit expensive or incredibly tricky) to play off with to communicate solely between one another from one person to another. Personally I think of that sort of thing more as a Garlean piece of tech than an aetheric induced pearl that enmasse communicates to a group. Anything is possible though so it's not like I patent it or anything, I'm more than likely not the first person to think of it haha. (i'd personally prefer keeping it to pearl communication and moogle mail icly)

Eshkin is still technically on gilgamesh, but it's where I played with my ex. You should switch to balmung with me :)

 

Come to Baaalllmmmuuunngggg

 

when I get the money and time I've considered it. I have an alt on balmung, I doubt he's in the guild I had him in anymore, but he was part of a villains guild haha

Shame I never ran into you on Gilga T^T! I do have a character on Balmung, but she doesn't really receive the love she deserves and I have no plans to switch from Gilga sadly, I really like it there, it is a good crowd! :D And gah! Your elezen dude is pretty!

 

I played a great deal last year and the beginning of this year, but a lot of really bad stuff happened rl and I couldn't really get online or keep up the sub.

welp, whether or not I got any serious responses my new job takes up practically all of my free time in a day now. by the time I get home I am waaay too fricken tired to do much else besides shower, catch up on basic web stuff or just go and collapse into bed.

 

With that being said I'm probably going to be cancelling my subscription simply because it would just be taking money, yet I have no time for it yet again. Was nice meeting the few that responded and hanging out with others. Happy RP trails.
