Good evening! I'm new to FFXIV, and I've recently transferred a character over to Balmung for rping purposes. Though new to this game, I've been active on Guild Wars 2 for the past year or so- And I've played many other MMO's as well!

 

RP experience is varied. I've rped on Tumblr, but have spent most my time in forums or through Skype and (years ago back when it was cool) AIM. I've rped both for fandoms and with OCs.

 

Character wise, for FFXIV, I only have my current main. I don't have any idea what to say about him though! I have yet to rp with him, and have mostly been leveling and exploring to get a feel for the world. You're more than welcome to ask about him!

 

Learned about this site when I was looking for rp communities in the game. I was unable to find a free company or anything in my old server (Leviathan). Since I wanted to use this toon specifically for rp, I decided to do a world transfer based on information I've found on this site! So now I'm on Balmung... and just as lost as before. Haha.

 

I love writing, so I am very used to heavy rping. For games, I have only lightly rping in GW2. This is mostly due to how shy I get with approaching others in games. I can do any range of rp, though.

 

I live on the east coast, so I'll be active around 5PM-10PM EST. I work one job currently, but I'll likely have a second within a few months. Some days of the week I may be on all day, and other days I may stay up much later. 

 

I am sorry if my introduction is wordy! Just using the template because I am not sure how to introduce myself!

 

I would love information on how to get involved in the rp community. Til then, I'll be browsing the forums! Thank you.

Welcome to the RPC and Balmung! I hope your transfer went well, there are a few people who have come over from different servers in the last month and hopefully like them you'll find yourself in the swing of things before too long. On that topic i've got a few links i'd like to share with you. The first two are on the RPC at large and Roleplay, the second are some OOC communities I think might interest you.

This generic welcome post outlines a few of the key features here at the RPC, the wiki, calendar, lantern ect. As well as listing some key community individuals at the bottom of the post. [Though Kylin is stepping down as Admin and FreelanceWizard is stepping forward to carry the mantel.]

Using the index in the "spoilers" to skip down to the areas that interest you should help break it down into more digestible chunks if you're just looking to confirm some of your own ideas or get a second opinion.

 

But onto the communities! I'm not a big fan of recommending IC groups because I feel that you know what you want better than anyone else so a "just go check out the linkshell hall" might serve you best, many of the groups are open for questions in game or on the posting page (though it may take them a while to get back to you.) Anyways, I do have some OOC groups i'd like to recommend.

"Intermission" is a chat channel spanning Roleplayers of all types across the realm. If you'd like to listen in on what people are talking about, or throw some random questions out to see how people feel, Intermission is a great place to do it. Though I would warn you that things can get pretty rambunctious.

"Balmungs finest" is a OOC linkshell dedicated to group content. If you've ever waited in the queue for half an hour or got stuck on Aurum Vale because everyone eats the morbol Fruit as soon as they get one stack of the debuff this might be the place for you. Building connections through dungeons, Primals and raids of all sorts.

 

If I haven't bored you yet I think that its a great idea that you're hoping into the forums, there are plenty of discussions happening that could be of interest to you, and as always if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to voice them there are many people here that are willing to give an opinion on pretty much anything.

Oh, there's rp on tumblr! It's easy to find if you look for rp groups! Though outside of that, yes. It is mostly porn and cats.
