Hey there all, I'm An. I'm not so much new to the game but i am relatively new to RP.

 

 

 

 

--MMORPG background- Played WoW for awhile with a friend of mine but it never grabbed me very much. Been playing FF for a good amount of time with a couple max level characters

 

 

--RP experience- Not much honestly. Little bit here and there with random people on the server but not enough for me. Just looking for a solid community of people to RP with. 

 

 

--Character ideas/info- Have a recently rolled character at level 5 that is being used right now as y primary RP character. 

 

 

--How did you learn about the coalition?random internet search

 

--What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy?- Probably more of a medium to heavy RPer. I love filling the role of someone else and would love to spend more time doing just that

 

--Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing?- IRL I am a student on my second year of college studying to be a computer programmer and game designer with a minor in music education. I work full time in a hospital in Maryland as a companion. I sit with patients for hours on wend and get afforded alot of time to game and do homework at work. Other than that i spend my days gaming or going to classical music concerts.

 

 

Anyway thats me. Hope to hear from some of you and get involved in an awesome community.

Yay more lalafell! Being a hospital companion certainly sounds like it affords you quite a bit of time to think things over, maybe indulge in some forum RP here on the site~. Are there a lot of Operas, Orchestral shows or Concert bands playing where you live? There was a brilliant set played recently in my home town that featured mostly Rachmaninov pieces [my favorite being Piano Concerto No.2].

 

Anyroad, i've got a few links i'd like to share with you that might help you get a better idea of the community, maybe get your foot in the roleplay door.

This welcome post is just a general overview of the RPC, it mentions some of the links you can find around the site as well as giving you a bit of history about the community itself. If you take a look at the bottom of the post it also mentions a few of the key members of the site, though Kylin has stepped down as admin and that role is now filled by FreelanceWizard.

 

If you'd like to brush up on some of your RP knowledge, maybe peg down where along the medium/heavy line you'd like to be or just hear about how some other people have approached ideas in Eorzea the RP handbook by Eva:

Is a great resource. Theres an index hidden in the spoilers tag so that you can see how things are broken down, maybe skim over the bits you feel confident with to get to more interesting parts.

 

But onto the communities! I don't think there are many better ways to get to know just whats out there than taking a look through the linkshell hall then talking to them in-game or on the forums. I do have a pair of OOC groups I would like to recommend though, maybe you'll find some traction with them and from there get to know some people that you'll interact with down the road.

"Intermission" is a great OOC hub of chatter for Roleplayers of all stripes to meet and talk. Finding out where people are, what they're up to, if something public is happening and oh so much more...

"Balmungs Finest" on the other hand relys on building connections through grouping. Tired of waiting in the duty finder as a dps for 30+ minutes? really need to farm Brayflox to get some gear or maybe drag some poor soul through Aurum Vale? Balmungs Finest is dedicated to grouping people of Balmung together before relying on the Dungeon Finder.

 

Hrm, hopefully I haven't bored you to tears, and you've found something that you can run with. Please remember to ask any questions, voice any concerns, or just lurk around the ongoing discussions, there are plenty of people willing to provide their opinions on all sorts of topic.
