Each select that is repeated is marked with a corresponding circle, square, whatever and see what parts of FFXIV appear to be copied and pasted. Link to comment

Tadir Posted September 13, 2010 Share #4 Posted September 13, 2010 If companies didn't we would spend more than twice as long on the terrain and would never make any deadlines. Link to comment
Eeam Posted September 13, 2010 Share #5 Posted September 13, 2010 I love me some Kotaku, but sometimes they're just biased morons. T_T Stuff like this is the reason I left IGN. Link to comment
Emaraya Posted September 13, 2010 Share #6 Posted September 13, 2010 Am I the only one who does not care one bit about the map as long as it is more accurate as the one in LotRO? I mean the graphic of these two places are not similiar are they? So why the heck care about a custom map. *opens her streetmap* "Oh my god all my highways look exactly the same and look this forest it is the same as there. These cheap bastards!" Link to comment
Tadir Posted September 13, 2010 Share #7 Posted September 13, 2010 No, you're not the only one. Every game does this. It's necessary. Link to comment
Satrina Posted September 13, 2010 Author Share #8 Posted September 13, 2010 No' date=' you're not the only one. Every game does this. It's necessary.[/quote'] Pretty much, its basically akin to why a lot of anime have scenes where the characters don't move or sit and only speak, it saves a lot of money and gets the product out on time. Cutting corners is fine when you do it right. Link to comment
Kylin Posted September 13, 2010 Share #9 Posted September 13, 2010 No' date=' you're not the only one. Every game does this. It's necessary.[/quote'] Mother Nature does it too. I swear I see the same patch of grass and tree everywhere I go. Freaking real life. Even it isn't realistic  I like how just about every comment on the article is basically ridiculing the author. Link to comment

Trizzip Posted September 13, 2010 Share #11 Posted September 13, 2010 I thought this one comment from there was pretty hilarious. Kotaku should instead investigate about the tear in the time/space continuum because we're playing a bad PS3 port 6 months before the PS3 version is released! Link to comment

Freyar Posted September 13, 2010 Share #13 Posted September 13, 2010 I saw it, and facepalmed. It doesn't matter enough to make me rage. Link to comment
Asyria Posted September 13, 2010 Share #14 Posted September 13, 2010 Like every single non-instanced cavern or fort in WoW wasn't a copy/paste... Link to comment
Emaraya Posted September 13, 2010 Share #15 Posted September 13, 2010 Well Warcraft knows alot about production logistics and therefore have regulations for size and architecture of buildings. Saves money and allows a quick rebuild after every orc or legion war. Link to comment
Freyar Posted September 13, 2010 Share #16 Posted September 13, 2010 Like every single non-instanced cavern or fort in WoW wasn't a copy/paste... Like every version of the Maiden isn't the same model with the only difference being her clothes, right? Link to comment
ArmachiA Posted September 14, 2010 Share #17 Posted September 14, 2010 Ah, the caves. At least I knew how to navigate them the minute I stepped in, regardless of where they were WoW was pretty good at reusing stuff over and over and over and over again Link to comment
Siben Posted September 14, 2010 Share #18 Posted September 14, 2010 ppfffffttt...typical corner cutting BS. What a cob job. Kagato Posted September 14, 2010 Share #19 Posted September 14, 2010 I canceled my pre-order and sold all my games. All those texture-copying bastards can go to hell. I'll be fine with tetris. *realizes all tetris blocks are black and fill up the same lines when put together correctly* MY LIFE IS A SHAM! Link to comment
Emaraya Posted September 14, 2010 Share #20 Posted September 14, 2010 I would recommend Pong if both I . I on the sides were not the same either. Our life is nothing but a failed copy, too. Link to comment

I realized the forest near me is FULL of copy-pasted trees so I set a giant fire in the forest to burn them all down. Also I noticed a few clouds in the sky looked very similar, im trying to figure out a way to darken the sky completely! Link to comment
