Any Cool Name Ideas?

So I'm waiting on Character Restrictions to be lifted and I am thinking of a name for my Miqo'te. Considering my character had a tragic past, I figured it may be nice to have another name for him so he wouldn't have that tie to his tribe making him remember the horrible childhood he had. I've gone by this alias before, but what do you all think of, "Rakiba Venclaire?" Maybe change the last name perhaps? Rakiba just sounds very....Miqo'te-ish...though it doesn't follow proper name convention lol. Or maybe... Rakiba Corinthos.

As far as conventions go, the tribe letter is part of the full name and used around people they aren't close with. Amongst family and friends the tribe letter is not used.

 

In a way, Rakiba does follow conventions, but drops the tribal letter for a different reason.

Depends on if you are playing a Seeker of the Sun or Keeper of the Moon. They have different naming conventions. 

 

Seekers add a letter at the beginning, depending on the tribe they are a part of. So it could be something as simple as him dropping that first letter and going by Rakiba, or he is part of the Raptor tribe and his name is R'akiba.

 

If a Keeper, you have a bit more freedom. The males add a letter to the end of their names denoting their birth order. So for the name you picked, you could do Rakib'a. He'd be the first born son of his tribe.

 

So really, your name works for either. Of course, if your character completely wants to separate himself from his tribe and take a whole new name, anything works. I think Rakiba is a great name and both names you mentioned as a last name go well with it.

Go nuts, give him a name that's so obviously fake and boring that people know he's using a pseudonym.  Like Stephan Stevens or Thomas Price.

"Really, Mr. Miqo'te sellsword, your name is actually Hugo Tanner?"

 

"No, you're right.  What name did you think would be appropriate for my race to have, Mr. Immortal Flame?  Obviously, Hugo Tanner isn't ethnic enough for you."
