Kage Posted May 1, 2014 Share #26 Posted May 1, 2014 The stat differences make no tangible difference in endgame; the one example I can think of is Lallafel BLM getting an extra cast with their Mind without having to work on the stat. Unless you're willing to rework your character into a Lallafel, starting stats are basically meaningless. Pretty much Dunesfolk Lalafell base stats with the 23 PIE gives them like one extra Fire cast for BLM. I didn't know this when I rolled a Dunesfolk Lala and knew I wanted try BLM until I noticed that in end-game I had a certain hundred more MP or so. The MIND doesn't really mean much I've heard in this game. Racial Min-maxing really doesn't make much difference at all. A Lala PLD is just as effective really as a Roe PLD Link to comment
Jana Posted May 1, 2014 Share #27 Posted May 1, 2014 Yes, I meant Piety, not Mind. I don't play casting classes very often, and you'd think a "god-y" stat like Piety would have to do with healing, no the other way around... Just a little confusion on my part. You see, I'm use to games where the bonus stats of races make differences in the game play. I'll probably think about reworking into a Hyur then, but I actually kind of enjoy the look I managed to get for the character. What you wanna do in the end is up to you. Just keep in mind that this game doesn't put a lot of emphasis on race and racial stat. Rather it encourages players to level every class to 50 on a single character, for better or worse, so no race has a real leg-up on any other per class. Link to comment
Aysun Posted May 1, 2014 Share #28 Posted May 1, 2014 Glad I didn't disappoint. People pretty much expect me to be rude, and treat me as if I am being rude, even when I am not. Gotta hold up that image. Stats do matter, you'll see when you get further in the game and such, but that's only when you're choosing your gear and weapon. It shouldn't influence your race choice, because their stat differences are so miniscule they're hardly notable at endgame. SE did that intentionally I believe, so that people could play whatever race they wanted regardless of what class they wanted to do, but the min/maxers could choose their race based on some tiny stat boost if it is that important to them.
