I'd go if they went back to offering day passes. Since I live 15 minutes from the city it was a nice way to spend a Saturday but I won't spend 70-80 bucks for one day. Still, might stop by the inner harbor to people watch.

I won't be at Otakon, but I live 20 minutes away from the convention center, so if any of you are dead set on meeting the Living Legend in the flesh we can meet up somewhere. I am quite fond of the Pratt Street Alehouse.

Pratt Street Alehouse, so good.

It's a lot of fun! It's also annual, so start planning for next year. My most cherished moment was getting to play Rock Band while in my Steiner costume with a full band.

I feel like such a geezer going, though! I never make it to panels or events or anything. I just admire good cosplayers, duck into movies and spotpass every living creature on my 3DS. Oh, and dealer's room. I make it a point to buy a new Gundam every year, and my friends know there's a bounty on Yuko from xxxHolic stuff.

Knowing me, I'll end up "borrowing" someone's pass to get in on Saturday. My collection of Crabby badges must continue growing!

I didn't know we had so many local RPCers to this area. We should do a meet and greet sometime. I'll try to drink Doggy under the table.

WHERE ARE YOU

I'm from The Dirty D. DUNDALK REPRESENTIN, HON.

You cannot drink a Dundalk boy under the table. We live in toxic sludge, we're genetic mutants that can take more abuse than anyone else.

I'm from Philadelphia originally, and come from a long line of alcoholics, each alcoholier than the last.

Ah, Philly, you mean the town whose biggest hero is a fictional boxer who lost the match?

Exactly. We're made out of bitter hate and resentment. Alcohol just makes us burn hotter.

... each alcoholier than the last.

I shouldn't have, but I laughed.

[edit]: Also, philadelphians don't even like Philadelphia. It may look green right now, but in another month it will be a grey and twisted wasteland choked with graffiti and coal dust.

I'm not proud to admit it, but I stole the premise of the joke right from a Penny Arcade comic.

I'm not too far from Baltimore either. I was thinking of watching cosplayers at the inner harbor, because I didn't want to pay $80 when my friends didn't also have the money to join in. Parking would be horrible though. :P

I used to work in an office on Charles Street. It's all a matter of timing and knowing where to park. Worst Case Scenario, Park and Ride on Eastern Boulevarde in Essex and take the 23 or the 40 quickbus. They'll put you within walking distance of the con. Or you could park anywhere along the Light Rail and take that in. Lots of options!

Thanks for the advice! I'll figure it out once my friend and I decide if we're going or not. :)

Traffic report on 98Rock this morning right as I was getting out of my car at work made mention that the line for Otakon wraps entirely around the building of the BCC and it causing gawker delays.

I was down there yesterday! Me and three friends were in line for about an hour or so before we reached the halfway point and by then it was already 8pm. We left to get dinner and they resolved to just get down there today to pick up badges, hoping the problem would be resolved.

...welp. Good luck, anyone trying to get down there and in. Seriously questioning whether or not it's worth it!

And listen to Dogberry; The light rail is by far the most convenient thing to get in and out. Works great for O's games, too.

If you don't mind the extra walk, you can also park at the Rusty Scupper over at the other end of the harbor past the Science Center. That is where I always park for Ravens games and the prices are pretty reasonable last I remember.
