Sterne Posted November 18, 2010 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2010 Organized by Sterne Evans - Representing "Sanctus Refero" Location: The Black Shroud Grid: 38x50 (horizontal x vertical) Just south of Camp Tranquil[/color] November 20th 22:00 (EST)/ 19:00 (PST) â Role Playing Event #1 Description: It's late in the day, and you're well on your way to Gridania in The Black Shroud. The walk from Ul'dah was a treacherous one, and what inspired you to walk there will evade you for some time to come. Accidentally making a wrong turn in the maze of a forest, you decide to find the nearest clearing you can find to take a short rest and think. Or maybe you keep on walking, determined to find what it is you're looking for. You remember some suns ago you heard a voice. A voice that sounds familiar yet unnerving at the same time. You don't speak of what happened to you then, but you take those words to heart. Hear. Feel. Think. Far off you can hear the soft ruckus of a camp, so you relax in knowing that there's someone near if there is any danger. Doing just as the voice dictated, you "Hear". Listening closely, you realize that you're not alone in the clearing! Purpose of Event This is the first of a regular RP event hosted by Sanctus Refero. As being the first one, some organizational things may change, as well as dates and times depending on feedback. Depending on how big the turn-out is, it may be better to pair people off instead of doing a mass group RP. This Event is open to all. There will postings on this forum, but the majority of future information will be on our linkshell website. Rules: All /say should be IC to avoid confusion. Sterne Posted November 21, 2010 Author Share #2 Posted November 21, 2010 Summary and Novelization The sounds in the forests of The Black Shroud grew from the silent hum of nature, to a bustling onslaught of voices. Adventurers from varying backgrounds found themselves involved in a meeting of pure coincidence that could not be trusted. "Something must have brought us all here". They wondered. But what was that link? Was it the lack of memory some of them shared? No, for there were others who's memories chronicled events better than the grand libraries in Ul'dah. The night pursued on ceaselessly in debate over the question. Concerns of morality and intent cropped up among the tragic tales of each individuals time. One even suggested the absent rulers of Mor Dohna were pulling the strings. The variety and intriguing nature of all the individuals brought to The Black Shroud put that idea in question. What would Mor Dohna have to do with them? Eventually, they agreed to bring an end to the debate on go on with their lives. The importance of "Why" dwindled as the idea of "What's next" crept up with severity. Some of them considered the though of banding together to enact the phrase: "Strength in Numbers". Regardless, these adventurers will meet again, no doubt, as the Goddess Nymeia would proclaim. The problem is, when and how will it happen? After thoughts: So, this turned out to be a very basic "Linkshell forming!" RP. That wasn't my initial intention, but I'm not complaining. I'm glad that the players were able to bring it to such a sensible conclusion. I'm mulling over the thought of having multiple RP events but with smaller groups. I believe that maybe it would be easier to RP and have a more enjoyable and fruitful experience in lesser numbers. "More with Less" and all that. For those who attended and those who just simply observed, your feedback would be most appreciated. Would you prefer a more concrete story to proceed on? Do you think, "Smaller groups would equal bigger fun?" What would you have liked to do, or have been done, differently? Link to comment
