  1. Tactical RPGs including FF tactics series and Fire Emblem games. Recently, I purchased Etrian Odyssey 4, and I've really enjoyed it. It's sort of like a classic dungeon crawler where you have to draw your own maps.
  2. Does anyone else find it interesting that several leaders/authority figures in Eorzea are female? Gridania- Kann-E Senna Limsa Lominsa- Admiral Merlwyb Ul' Dah- the sultana (I can't remember her name)
  3. How important is it for one to talk during this event? Would it be alright if I were to come and more or less observe. This seems like a great way to start getting into RPing. I would love to check it out, but I don't have a 'stay behind'(non time-skipping) character.
  4. Will this start P4 or launch? Either way I'll be sure to /tell one of you pearlsacks for a linkpearl when the time comes.
  5. I haven't decided on a server yet either. I'm leaning a little more toward balmung, so whether I see you in-game or not welcome to the forums. EDIT: and thanks for this I like the thought of experienced players/RPer that could assist and advise some on Balmung.
  6. I would expect Musketeer to be released some time before the first expansion. There is already a guild for it in Limsa Lominsa. As for DRK, I really hope we do get it at some point in the future.
  7. If shes a Seeker B'eia would work, for Keeper it'd just be Beia, only the male keepers have apostrophes in their name, which is their moms then the syllable that designates what order they were born in. Xha'li for example is the third son of Xha. Thanks. She's a Seeker. I wasn't sure how the clans used the apostrophe.
  8. I found the bar graph to be most helpful for me. I like that it has feet/inches because I can easily compare to the heights of people I know. It's fun to think how they would appear irl not just in relation to the other races.
  9. I think I will partially, at least for the first name. My Miqo'te's last name is actually a nickname given to her by some highlander buddies. I've decided on the name Beia (or B'eia, Miqo'te spelling?) Quickclaw.
  10. I kind of figured some in the city-states might be less inclined to observe the tribal structure, but I just thought I'd make sure because I've been on some RP forums that were strict about lore almost to the point of being stifling.
  11. I thought of a few more question that is somewhat related to this topic. How close to lore should I stay with my character history? Would it be unreasonable to have self-contained family unit of Seekers rather than a situation with one male and several females?
  12. Thanks for the in depth reply.
  13. I don't play any instruments, but I would consider myself somewhat of a vocalist. I will be majoring in music theory and composition soon in the fall. For some experince, I considered writing a theme in the form of a tone poem. I love programmatic music, especially Dvorak's late tone poems after Kytice, a collection of Czech and Slavic folk tales. I've read somewhere that Nobuo Uematsu likes to use influence from romantic composers including Tchaikovsky, who was a contemporary of Dvorak. This is a big part of why I always enjoy music from FF titles.
  14. I am aware that Seekers are diurnal and Keepers are nocturnal, so they likely don't interact much. Do the clans generally get a long? This detail is pertinent to the crafting of my character's history.
  15. Would a question about lore go in the forum 'RP Discussion' or 'FFXIV Discussion?'
