  1. Hey, Grin! I'll take a wild guess here, did you have a NA account? Don't forget to set your Square Enix account user settings / profile to NA too, even in the preferred language setting-- actually, just set everything you could set into NA region, including the address bar of your browser, does it spells EU somewhere? Replace it with NA if it is. Afterward, you should log out and go to the http://preorder.na.finalfantasyxiv.com/us where you should continue as usual, logging in and such. Good luck! nb: If it's continue to produce error messages, it could be that the server is congested, it happens the day before, but eventually you should get through and receives your 20 digits true code. I went over every possible spot something might be set wrong in my profile or account. It's all English (US), and the address I'm linked to is preorder.na. I still get the Error 2: The code entered has already been used. AND the game is still no longer registered to my account.
  2. Ok, maybe you guys can help me out. I pre-ordered July 14, got my email, and registered, as instructed. My profile showed ARR under registered games. Today I was told by a friend that I needed to go to the linkie for the early access, so I did. I got Error 2: Code already in use. So I checked my account, and ARR is no longer in my registered games. I'm trying to remain calm, but this is really - upsetting. Regards.
  3. How to get a Miqo'te in a tin can: Step 1: Meat Grinder Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit Does s/he have to have been raised in the tribes? Perhaps a small family unit broke away a few generations ago and took up residence in the city. Distanced from the tribal lifestyle, and perhaps one of many children, the best prospect is to take up arms, etc.
  4. I saw Ashren Snow. I waved and then I ran away
  5. I got hit with it a few hours ago, I expect I'm out of phase 4 for the duration, considering a friend got 3102'd the night of the 16th after only a few hours of play and still can't get back in. All but 2 people in our FC linkshell have 3102: One wasn't logged in during the spate of disconnects and the other one didn't zone, just logged out.
  6. Hm. So long as she's not fresh in from an assignment, Grinner smells like fruit candy and chalk pencils. Her giant tome of Awesome Equations, however, smells like whatever flowers and leaves she has pressed between it's pages.
  7. Thank you for sharing this! It's fantastic when you get it straight from a native speaker so you don't accidentally use a word that doesn't mean what you think it does. Not that I've ever done that :dodgy:
  8. That's not bird, it's. Um. Corn! Yes, it's corn! Bird is that way, hurry hurry! As previously stated, most role players are patient. Just keep at it until you fall in with a group you like! You seem to have a very engaging character.
  9. I'll help you find your bird Mr. Wheel! I'm a tiny, uh, harmless - yes, harmless - Lalafell! That way  to :chocobo:
  10. This is a character I created as part of the FC backstory. Turns out he escaped and will be Arching The Red Hand.
  11. My character started out as a Lala, went through a few evolutions, and wound up a Miquo'te. However, last night I came up with three very good reasons to change her back to Lala. Reason 1 Reason 2 Reason 3 The main reason I changed her race to begin with was I want to be a lancer/dragoon and I thought the Lala would be too clownish. However. A friend showed me some screenshots, and they are actually badass. Surprise!
  12. I have a vague concept, not necessarily villainous, but definitely morally ambiguous.
  13. Wow, she's really cute! I love her hair! Thank you! Her creation has been an evolutionary process, but I am really happy with the result.
  14. I created this look. I want to make her, but I don't know what I want to make her.
  15. All she wants is a little taste of your soul. That's actually a Wildwood, not a Duskwight.
  16. Yes, that's what we're going for with The Red Hand. We're the ones that don't ask questions. As one facet of the Free Company, I think it has fantastic potential to create role play opportunities and a great way to connect with other Free Companies or Link Shells.
  17. The Red Hand does plan to offer courier services, it's one aspect of the Free Company. There are some things you just don't want to trust to an impersonal service, or some items that don't do well via the mail service (you know, the ones that need air holes poked in the box). We don't need to know what's in the box, or why you need it to be delivered to a one-eyed Lala on the border of Ala Mhigo. We'll get it there in a timely manner - for the right price. You had drinks with a lovely sea wolf woman in Limsa Lominsa and she left certain articles behind; you'd like to return them but you didn't catch her name? Not to worry! Provide us with a thorough description, scars, birth marks, we'll track her down and return her possessions - if you can afford both the investigation and courier fees. There are a lot of fun possibilities!
  18. *forges a note in Rock's handwriting* If you want to see Fluffy - "Wait, Fluffy? Does this look like a Fluffy? ... Really?" - If you want to see Fluffy again, come to Gilgamesh. P.S. Bring candy
  19. Oh definitely, have your people contact my people.
  20. The Red Hand Trading Company is a "legitimate" front for smugglers, couriers and treasure hunters of an underhanded to downright loathsome bent. We also employ investigators, collections agents, and enforcers. We plan to have a main office in Limsa Lominsa or Ul'Dah (undecided) with satellite offices in the other plus Gridania.
  21. Congratulations! You've slain a young miquo'te female. She put up quite a fight for such a petite thing, and she wasn't even armed! Better hope there was enough in her pockets to cover your medical expenses. You monster. Copper Ring: A man's copper ring, etched with a closed eye, worn on her left thumb. A merchant might pay a few gil for it. Worn Map: A worn map of the area, annotated in her own shorthand Embossed Charms: An agitated half-elezen is looking for these charms and would really like to know how they came into your possession.

    Languages?

Thank you Freelance Wizard, that is informative. The languages may be defunct, but there is still a lot of room for a unique cultural identity whether it be strictly racial, or regional, or a blend. Regards

    Languages?

I should think that the races do have, or have had in the past, unique spoken languages. Not only do they have vastly different naming conventions, but some of the races have come from previously cut off areas, like the Miquo'te and Lalafell, right? So it would be logical that those races with no previous exposure to the others would historically speak a different language. And the point of the original post was to suggest a way to add racial/cultural flavor, not demand conformation to real-world languages. Regards Addendum: Not every minute detail has to be spelled out in "the lore". There are some things that tend to be fairly universal and lend credibility to the setting.
