I'm not sure being a RPer has anything to do with it, seems more like a personality thing, but okay. If you want honest, productive discussion titles like that seem click-baity and hostile. Are you feeling attack because you think what I said may be true? I am not ruining the community on Mateus, I am making sure it is clear that there is a problem and it can't just be ignored and hope it goes away type of attitude. You don't know me, and you likely haven't met me or my characters before, so your judgement of my character isn't all that important to me, and you may be a nice RPer and person which I would be happy to believe if you claimed. I can be dramatic to get people to click on something, but if you read the actual content, it is no more than that, a dramatic title. I'm not really feeling attacked. I have no ties or personal feelings towards Mateus or Balmung. I never said you're ruining the community on Mateus so I'm not sure where that's coming from. No, I don't know you, that's correct. I've seen your posts in here and the other thread about keeping RP only on Balmung and you don't seem terribly interested in fostering a community on Mateus. I read the actual content, that's why I referenced you saying you hadn't logged onto the server in weeks. How you wrote the original post doesn't exactly come across as, "Let's help other people feel welcome on Mateus." I just thinking having a weird title such as "Wicked Origin" is a little silly, and I don't think it has anything to do with being a RPer. It just catches people's attention. Then go back and read my very first post in the keeping RP on Balmung thread please. I am interested in fostering a community, but I don't have as much time or effort at the moment, and when faced with discouraging things right from the very start, that makes it even harder. Being that like me, many do not have a lot of time for multiple characters due to real life, this kind of sudden onset of distaste for community members who may have not even said a word, and literally the hour, day, or week they joined, can damage for a long period if they felt the fall in inspiration I felt. If you have something else to add besides questioning my character as a person, please do post further, otherwise thank you and I won't be replying further to you specifically if it's on this topic of me rather than the issue. I'm sorry if you thought I was questioning your character as a person, that wasn't what I was intending to do. I don't think it's your sole job to foster a RP community or anything, that's super unfair to suggest. Not having a lot of time and joining a server only to feel unwelcome and unliked would leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth, I definitely agree. I don't think it's okay or fair for people on Mateus to say Balmung players are rude, or mean, or annoying, or anything else. I think both groups of people should work together on making RP fun and inclusive for people. My original comment in this was to say that the Original Post paired with the title didn't seem like it fostered great discussion. I'm sorry if I came across as hostile or mean to you, that's not what I meant. Sorry about mentioning the consolidating Balmung thing, I mistook you for someone else. Just wanted to reiterate that I apologize for coming across as rude.

I'm not quite sure how. I'm not on either of the Discords and I haven't talked about Balmung or Mateus badly. I was just saying that yes, I see OP's point and I understand that it can feel uncomfortable to not feel welcome. However the original post does come across as hostile itself, although perhaps that's just me. I didn't say anything like, "Oh get off Mateus," or "Your opinion sucks". I just didn't think the OP came across how it intended to.

I haven't logged in, or made much of an effort to, in part because I would have needed that fire I lost to do so during a pre-expansion push to get things done on my main on Balmung. After the expansion is in full swing, I may have more down time to go back to it, but that also hasn't stopped me from getting word from people who are still there and receiving this kind of treatment. Also: I'm an RPer, there are few things even in real life that don't sound melodramatic when they come out. It isn't intentionally extra, in the words of Nina Bonina zos Galvus Brown: "Sue me". I'm not sure being a RPer has anything to do with it, seems more like a personality thing, but okay. If you want honest, productive discussion titles like that seem click-baity and hostile. My character's name is Luna Sona and she's a real cutie and a lot nicer than I'll ever be. I'm excited to start RPing again and making new friends. MMORPG background I've played World of Warcraft for a really, really long time. I played in vanilla when I was younger and could steal my older brother's WoW account away from him. Afterwards I used a bunch of trial accounts to play (when they still expired) until I could finally have my own permanent account. I RPed in Cataclysm and Mist of Pandaria, although mainly Horde-side on the Moon Guard server. I've played Guild Wars 2 for like 5 hours, you could say I'm an expert in that game. RP experience I've been RPing for a really long time. I used to RP on freewebs (now just webs I think), Chatango and other random sites I stumbled across. I can't say I was very good at RPing back then but it was fun and it made me happy. I'm better at RP and character development now, but I'm probably still not the best. Character ideas/info I wanted to RP a character who was sweet, cheerful and cute. My main RP character in WoW was cute, but I'm not quite sure how sweet they were. There was a running joke in my guild about my character setting things on fire. Luna Sona was born to be a happy miqo'te with a passion for learning and healing, yay. How did you learn about the coalition? I googled "FFXIV RP". What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? (e.g. Light, medium, or heavy) I like all sorts of RP but I lean towards medium to heavy RP. I usually join military guilds but I'm not sure if Luna Sona fits that kind of guild, I suppose we'll see! Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? (Work, school, hobbies, etc.) I play League of Legends a lot, mainly mid lane. I also enjoy PUBG (despite being terrible at it) and a few other games. I enjoy writing and reading. I have a German Shepherd named Ned Stark. I'm planning on streaming on Twitch starting this summer. I'm currently dating a British boy so I'm up at ungodly hours and say British things now, it's a terrible existence.

I know you posted those pictures awhile ago but I wanted to say your eye makeup is pretty, you blend very well.

I think everyone else has said anything that needs to be said, but you do seem a bit biased and dramatic. "Wicked origin" is quite melodramatic. You also said you haven't quit the server or anything dramatic, but in the original post say you haven't logged on to the server in weeks. I do understand it sucks to feel ostracized but the way you wrote this post seems a tad extra.

The Importance of Consolidating RP on Balmung and Having One RP Hub
Luna Sona replied to Sig's topic in RP Discussion
I'm fairly certain Balmung is going to stay locked for a long while. Months at least. It's THAT overfilled, and Gilgamesh is not a good option unless you're going to create a community from near the ground up. (and it too, is very full and will not unlock for a long time) I'm honestly not saying that players SHOULD avoid splintering off and creating other communities, though if Balmung becomes the smaller community, Balmung will die out and most will move to the bigger one. That's the mindset of the overall roleplay community. Once the server swap is available again, Balmung will either be the smaller community by the end of it and the transfers out will commence or this new community will be off splintering again back to Balmung. It's not so much a solution to the situation, more a sorta grim truth. People say FFXIV is going to be different from other games but it really isn't. We're not a different breed of human. Then how do you explain Moon Guard and Wyrmrest Accord on WoW? Those are two healthy RP servers and people can just switch between them. There's no reason for it to be, "Balmung or nothing." -
The Importance of Consolidating RP on Balmung and Having One RP Hub
Luna Sona replied to Sig's topic in RP Discussion
EU WoW servers want a word with you. We only had one roleplay server left in the end. Just because it worked on WoW US doesn't mean it will on FFXIV. To be fair, what FFXIV currently has in it's one locked and previously impossible to get onto without paying money server also is not working. There isn't really a middle option in this race. Yeah but a second server isn't magically going to establish itself either. So what do you suggest new people do then? Just sit and wait until Balmung opens? There are people working right now on Mateus and other servers to help support and foster a RP community. -
If SE was to designate an RP server, would you move?
Luna Sona replied to ExAtomos's topic in RP Discussion
Given that WoW seems to have completely failed in enforcing that, I severely doubt SE would be able to. I'd rather stay on a server with my friends where I can speak freely if wanted. They actually do throw the ban hammer quite hard on people who harassed roleplayers. Only places it was questionable was RP-PvP server due to you technically signing up for PvP as well. That said, they were a lot better about it in Vanilla/TBC. After that Activision came in, and rip caring about roleplayers. Speaking freely? Dude. DUDE. C'mon. Don't you think we had some places to trashtalk OOC in public? Of course we do. Mostly trade district with the Market Boards were n1 spot, and later we got the Meme Roof. But that was all out of direct sight of RPers. And if people were passing trough the trade district IC, no one would kick up a stink and go "Ew gross RPers." either. It was nice. What I mean is that from everyone I've heard talk about WoW RP, they totally let the RPers attack and mutilate their own communities. I guess Blizzard probably just went "not on our site" and left it at that, but you know exactly what I'm talking about. A server tagged for RP would just invite in "RP Police" people who'd be just as dangerous to a community as any RP-hating jerk. That's weird. I'm not sure if you've personally RPed on WoW, but the community is pretty okay recently. The only people that I know of that "attacked and mutilated" their own community were the Night Elf RPers and that was in Cataclysm, which was quite a few years ago. I'm new to FFXIV and RPing here, but I've seen more RP police on this site than I have on WoW.
