Welcome to Mateus! I'm Zeizei Zeloo and I'm newish around here too! I've been really lucky to fall into a group with some old and new friends alike and I'm always looking to meet more people! I play a bit of a loud mouthed bratty Miqo'te orphan, feel free to look me up in game some time (I'm usually around after 6pm PDT) or peek in at our FC's Library and Lounge at Goblet Ward 10, Brimming Heart Subdivision, Plot 49 to see if anyone's around!

Mmm. Not so much. There's texts apparently that describe Red Magic out there. You go looking around some ruins in Gyr Abania for some texts during one of the 60+ RDM quests. I haven't gotten that far in the RDM quests, but I had assumed that there must exist some texts out there on it, so this is good to know! The character concept I've already been rolling with is someone who's learned what she knows via a stolen book (and is probably as dangerous to herself as anyone else). It also leaves opportunities for someone to come looking for a book that was stolen 10 some years ago!

This is a topic I've been interested in myself as it's a direction I've been planning to go with my own character since RDM fits the rogue/wizard multiclass concept so well. There's a couple threads about it already you might be interested in http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=19853 http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=18784 The general consensus seems to be that the Crimson Duelists were only once faction of Red Mages, so there's no reason others would not exist. The art itself also doesn't seem terribly difficult to pick up, provided you already have some talent for magic - so previous experience as a thaum or conjurer would probably be beneficial. The magic itself is casted from your own aether reserves and isn't/shouldn't considered illegal anywhere. This is, of course, what I've interpreted from what's been posted already and should in no way be accepted as absolute fact. It's RP though: if your concept is interesting and, most importantly, fun to you, then I'm sure most people would be alright with a little lorebending.

I'm fairly new myself and started on Mateus with a couple RPers who recommended the game to me! The community has been growing quite quickly and everyone I've met here so far have all been wonderful and the que's have never delayed me logging in by more than a minute or two. Otherwise I know Balmung is the big name for RP servers and there's other servers with small communities forming as well.

I'd be interested in attending this! I'm pretty new to FFXIV and would love an opportunity to meet more people and expand my small circle of friends!

I just realized I ran a trial with a couple of you yesterday and I've been meaning to try and get on this linkshell! Thanks again for being so pleasant to play with, any room for a total FFXIV newbie?

RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium-Heavy - I love intense story driven RP as much as I love light and goofy RP and often try to blend the two together. I also enjoy PVE content and if you see me running around in the world I may not be IC at that moment, but if you give me an OOC poke I could be! Views on RP combat and injuries: Injuries happen as does fighting. Ultimately I prefer to avoid this type of conflict in a “serious” player vs player context without discussion beforehand. Play fighting and rough housing such as slaps, bonks, upending buckets of water is just fine as is smashing NPC heads together! Views on IC romance: I’m fine with all kinds of RP as long as it remains IC. Romance happens; sometimes it’s light and casual sometimes it’s intense and passionate. Just don’t expect to get anywhere without taking the time to build some kind of IC relationship first. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): See above! Views on lore: I try to be correct but I am still new to FFXIV’s lore. That said, I’m not looking to get ultra-strict about it either.
