To my knowledge it's just a matter of coming up with a name. There's no pre-suffix nor post suffix. Female first names are typically short, two syllable things, sometimes with unspoken H's.

Ah, Xenogears is one of my favorite games!

I. Basic Info Characters:Koren Panipar Primary character:Koren Panipar Linkshells:TEXT HERE Primary RP linkshell:TEXT HERE II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I would say that I'm definitely a "heavy" RPer; ideally I want to be in character as much as possible and I consider that my default state. This isn't to say that I'll forcibly RP dungeons out (I sense the mood first) but I do tend to keep myself as close to IC as the situation allows for. I tend to keep OOC in private tells unless someone needs help. I love walkup RP! And, frankly, I kinda like it when people feel comfortable in jumping into my stories a little bit so long as they get some grounding first ("Wait a second, I remember you from school back in X-- did you ever do anything with that golem idea?" when school wasn't particularly mentioned though my character is from X and they were mentioned to be involved with magical experimentation... if not a golem specifically). I think things like that make stories come alive but, obviously, if something doesn't jive I'll tend towards "no, but" instead of doing "yes, and" (though I'll always respond unless it's entirely out of character). Views on RP combat and injuries: I don't mind RP combat at all, that said, I don't really have a character who's likely to get in random brawls or such things. I'm pretty flexible towards what other people want, rolls or stats or just writing it out... that SAID I do have a bit of persnickety-ness towards power levels... I'm all right with non-mortal injuries and you don't really have to warn me too much outside from saying "this conflict is going to get physical" for what's going to happen. If it's something that wouldn't heal or would change the character as a whole? (Blinding, amputation, severe facial scarring, death etc) you should probably tell me first. Views on IC romance: I'm flexible about romance with this character. I'm not going to seek it or force anything but I'm not going to turn away. That said, I also have a very slow build when it comes to relationships: after one month of knowing a PC... they've known each other for one month. Don't get expect a marriage unless the RP involves a reason for a rush-to-the-altar-for-a-greencard like situation. I've played casual relationships, I've played true-wuv!, and if it's interesting and advances the character I like it. That said... I have run into people who've gotten too attached. Please no "too attached" and I'm not all that keen on over-dramatic love triangles. Likewise; a day is a day in my RP and I tend to be more realistic than anything else. I don't really do "speed pregnancies" where one week counts as one trimester or anything like that and I kind of would prefer to avoid that sort of thing as far as RP partners. I understand there are perfectly valid and interesting characters that have children and frankly I think it could offer interesting RP! That said, I expect that if people with children enter my RP that they RP it and my characters will tend to treat people differently if they're parents with kids and always hanging out in the tavern or have a hundred off-screen nannies available at all hours of the night. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Yes. So much yes. I love family and people coming in and jumping in the story soooooo very much! Old friends, rivals, enemies, all of that is wonderful. HOWEVER I find that a lot of pre-game planning comes off too stilted unless things go absolutely just right. It's like trying to force lightning into a bottle. So... it's something to talk about first. Views on lore: Admittedly I don't know the Lore all that well yet... so I'm leaning. Still, I tend to cleave to the lore as best as I can for the sake of the game. I think it takes some away when you're in a situation and RPing a group that's all supposed to like the color pink and culturally it's important to eat together (for example) but everyone chooses to hate pink and makes a big show about how different they are by not eating together. It means (to me) that someone can't play someone who's debating whether they like pink as being in between (because everyone's kinda pushed the RP line where questioning that like is no longer in the middle)... and as I've been someone who's played that character and felt really uncomfortable to have made someone who was supposed to be kind of liberal by the lore but was treated as if I were super-conservative by play. It didn't feel great. ; Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Say is IC, dungeons are usually silent except for OOC bubbles by necessity unless I'm told we're doing it IC. Tells are usually OOC but I'll denote either with bubbles or by noting I'm whisper. III. Other Info Country:United States Timezone:Central Contact info:Kitsuiko is my Skype name and I can be usually found here. I will chat always, calls are... well, we need to know each other first for awhile but I'm always happy to chat. I tend to be friendly and like to establish a decent OOC relationship because I'm all about community (despite my somewhat harsh requirements and stipulations I listed above) and I like knowing people and getting involved. Sure, I'd like to be added! I'm Kitsuiko

Somehow the line about her being a Keeper got cut out when I edited this to make sense. Keepers seem to have a bit higher mind and piety and lower physicals and their personality traits kinda meshed so... yeah. Fufufufufu~ But, yeah, I kind of like the feel of the Keepers so I was going for that. Watching the anime Paprika makes me want to steal traits from said character for my own. That mysterious cheerfulness... My goodness, I think I have a personality!

I don't know how much I can say because I'm still researching and learning lore to make sure I make sense. ; For instance; I knew that she'd be an odd one out (or at least suspected) being a Miqo'te Arcanist judging from the art and most of the works suggesting they're a very physical people. I'm still trying to figure out what makes sense for her parents to have been researching and what they were doing it for, and what sort of lifestyle that meant for her. I like the idea of her viewing what she does as an art rather than a science; her study of Aether being kind of aesthetic in a sense? If that makes any sense -- I was thinking how the Arcanists use their books. Of course, this is really early on. Maybe I'll wake up tomorrow and she'll be a Legally Blonde expy who's flighty and girly and seems flaky but actually has a talent despite her airheaded persona.

Still very messy, ugh some of that shading... but! Here's where I am since I first posted it. Ugh. My tablet does NOT show me where some of those sloppy lines are as clearly as I'm seeing here. that smudge across her thigh and over her shoulders will drive me to distraction ; Ah well. That's what rough drafts are.

I'll definitely keep that in mind! I'm always looking for RP ties and eventually when I get 30% less lazy and put up information about Koren maybe they'll be two that can work well together! I'm still learning a lot about the game and the culture as I'm trying to design her so she makes a bit more sense as someone in the world but I think I've gotten a few basic traits down to try and make sure she plays well with others. Though... of course, this means I'm going to be reading Kevaraan's RP posts to learn about him ; what can I say, I really do like reading characters.

I'm also at this point officially accepting commissions. I think from what I understand my starting price is 15 an hour AND you have to please be present during some of the live-stream so I know that I'm getting what you're asking for. Re-drawing and stuff is a lot of time, yo. To give a general idea estimate the picture in this post was a 3.5 hour drawing. I... do not color. Color is not my jam http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=3364 however is great at color and muscles so I recommend him if you want to do that Wink. I can leave off all shading so that someone else or you can color. To compare, the other pictures in this thread were 30 to 40 minute doodles. My price for those is 10. As you might imagine from the link, Susu's a friend of mine. If you're looking for a more Western, comic book style he's a great source. I'm more of a Korean-style intricate person. Also my guys kinda look femme unless I try real hard. Let's start with a 30 minute sketch! I didn't actually get to finish it because, well, 30 minutes but I'm SUPER HAPPY with how it came out. So, that's my first sketch of Koren. Eventually she'll have a book there and be laying on her bed. I think I need to rotate her body back around so she's laying more on her tummy? Idunno. Also her ear is all wrong. >_< Either which way! Koren! COMMISSIONS COMPLETED Alodia (Complete!) COMMISSIONS PENDING 1. Para (Shading) 2. Eva (On Deck) 3. Felix (Early Saturday) 4. Poe (Late Saturday) 5. 7.

Think less stuffy library and more... Indiana Jones. Ah, it's still forming but I liked the idea of playing with the dichotomy and seeing if I could make an interesting conflict for a person. Ideally with a little less "going to ignore my culture" and a little more "how do I reconcile my culture and what I am" though ; I've a bugaboo about just ditching culture entirely for RP. That said she's all Moon-y and Moon-like so there's a little bit of that kittenish stand-back-and-poke-it I think. Imma start a doodle of Koren then.... ooh! Speed challenge time.

Hello all! As you can probably guess by me posting in the Welcome Desk and by this being my first post I'm an entirely new person joining the fray, so, hi! I'm not new to RP at all (though I did just play in my first play by post last week! Outside of Doctor Who, I don't think there's a better use of the phrase Timey-Wimey for how that can get though it's super fun) and I've played in a few MMOs prior to now. I run LARPs IRL though I'm on break after running a two year Legend of Five Rings game and I'm currently in the process of playing/leaving a Vampire the Masquerade (Not Requiem, I wish it were...) game. I love RP though and that's what usually draws me into games. Straight social... I get a little bored but in past games (GW2, City of Heroes, TSW) I loved the idea of meandering around with my fellow players in the world and roleplaying through events and weaving ourselves into the story and meeting new people. I flat out love meeting new people in game. Seriously, I do a happy raptor dance IRL when I run into RPers in the game world (there are no gifs of this... yet...) I will admit my bias is older FF games. Though I love X and refuse to hear ill spoke of it. Let's see... I like both J and Kpop though I've got a HUGE Morning Musume bias  so that might be a dangerous one to bring up. I actually legitimately love hearing about people's characters and how they're creating them and their history and stuff so if you ever want an ear to bounce ideas off from? I'm your huckleberry. So far I'm not entirely certain what I'm playing but I'm leaning towards a Miqo'te Arcanist who's parents were something of anthropologists investigating the beast tribes to study the primals but that's all gooby-wooby forming in my head. OH! I also draw! I'm stupid lazy though... so I'll freely admit getting me to do pictures can be like pulling teeth though I'll always finish it. But, since I usually only charge in game money (or assistance with bosses) I think that's okay to wait two weeks for my lazy butt. Lookin forward to meeting you all!
