Extra Life Art Jam!! [[OVER!! THANK YOU ALL!!]]
T'salmaveth replied to Smores's topic in Artisan House
Has anyone heard from P'rido at all lately? I have PMed and emailed and heard nothing back. I have no issues at all with my donation, as I fully support the cause... but if I'm not going to get the art at this point, I'd like to know so I can try to find someone else to do a pic for ol' T'sal. :? -

Hey, haven't hard anything on this in a bit. I hope the graphics card didn't cause too much of a problem. ^^ -

Donation went through, I believe. I'm going to go pick up my GM and run some errands, but I'll get your screenie and character refs after that. I'm cheering y'all on. :3 -

/gleefully donates because A: amazingly good cause that strikes close to home and B: amazingly good art is a fabulous bonus Cheers to those doing this! It's a great cause and matters so much to the families it helps. -
There are no words. It's just adorable. Thank you. It's T'sal's first ever artwork.
-
OMG... that's... he's so adorable in his grumpiness! Even the WIP is awesome. Thank you.
-
Oh god, these are cute enough to make even my cold sociopathic catboi perk up. I'll toss his grumpy self up here if you're still doing these later.

Seeking RP partners for T-tribe reunion
T'salmaveth replied to Therese Villefort's topic in RP Discussion
This is fun to see! I hope it goes well and I walk by at some point. Things like this are really awesome to see RPers working within the lore and the results the end of the last game. Sadly, T'sal has a very negative opinion about the tribes his parents were from. (That is mostly his mama's fault.) And the T-tribe wouldn't even know he existed, since his papa was a Tia who left years ago. Still, I'll be keeping tabs on what y'all do. -
T'sal has buko weaknesses but at the same time, they CAN be a strength depending on the situation and how it is applied. His single-minded hatred of Garleans is bad... but it also drives him forward to greater heights power and knowledge-wise as he does his research. I think his GREATEST weakness, however, is his inability to emotionally connect to people... that he really just doesn't 'understand' emotions and has gotten to a point where he finds it a bother and a waste to try most of the time. A lack of natural empathy can be EXTREMELY off-putting to others and doesn't really make him the life of any party. That and the whole 'don't touch me' thing. Poor T'sal. He's so screwed up. But I love him anyway, because he doesn't give a flying flip that he is.
-
T'sal is a 'Half'... his parents both left their respective clans for their own reasons... so he gets his first name from his Seeker papa and his 'last' name from his Keeper mama. A nod to both backgrounds and to the fact that they wanted their child to be raised outside of either in the Limsa melting pot.

Oh wow.. I was saving up to start lurking around for commissions, but I won't pass up a chance at lovely art if so offered. Thank you for doing this for people. Here is T'sal's post in the reference thread. He's a very serious keen-eyed fellow, rarely smiles and so on. Thank you again. :3

Toughest overall dungeon and boss fight?
T'salmaveth replied to Moondoggie's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Toughest battle? I'd have to say the Reserving Instance battle with the Duty Finder boss. Keeps kicking our butts... >_> -
Recent Maintenance Updates and Dungeon Mechanics Changed!
T'salmaveth replied to Aleister's topic in FFXIV Discussion
My only problem at this point is that they haven't instituted something to help check the rampant rude hateful nasty behaviour that comes in the final two storyline dungeons. Had a group that purposefully ruined the experience for my friend on his very first run of Praetorium.... demanded we skip the cut scenes so they could speed through. Fixing one case of speed running is great. Now I can only hope they do something about the other... because the jerks will move to the final two story dungeons and demand players skip their stories and, if told no, hurl untold abuse and pull things anyway. I want to call this one guy out... he's not part of the RPC or anything, but I won't because I saw people saying not to do so. We were forced together because of the DF and hopefully I will never see his little troll Lala BLM self again... but he and his one or two buddies(there were FOUR of us wanting to watch the scenes, including a healer(me) and a tank) pulled the final-final boss and killed him while my friend and I were watching the cut scene, meaning he never got to take part in that final fight. Nothing ticks me off more than that. I hope karma comes around on those players and I hope SE does something about it, in whatever way they can. /sigh -
Oh, that's very lovely. And the coloring is great. I wish I was half that good at coloring... :\ Sketchy art is always so relaxed looking. I always end up tightening up my lines and everything looks too stiff. I envy people who can draw like this. Cheers.

Three DAYS of non-stop farming in Brayflox. Just you all GUESS what my favorite set so far is? Battlemage FTW! Full... freaking.... set. Ugh. But worth it. 100% worth the time and effort to get, even if I am over-leveled like crazy because of it.

I have to admit... having worked in the industry and on the launch of a major title, I've maintained a very patient view on this. But at this point, I'm more than a little twitchy. And ready to flip a table over how it's handled. There was some seriously bad bad BAD planning done on SOMEONE'S part and I hope they are held accountable for it. I'm also more than a little angry that I have a friend who got into Balmung and is playing and it refuses to let me log in. If their idea of a 'fix' is to just limit the number of people who can be on the world at a time... this game is in for a very bad time, and I'm worried. And getting more worried as we go. I'm also exceedingly bored. I was very excited about my weekend to play.... esp since my work week is basically hell. I need my weekends to de-stress, not get MORE stressed. /flop

I may as well pop this up here... money tight for a bit so I'll have to save up for commissions. The Basics RACE ~ Miqo'te (Mixed Clan, created in-game as Keeper) GENDER ~ Male SKIN TONE ~ Pale Peach-ish BUILD ~ Slim and lithe. Has muscle definition when de-shirted but is not 'built'. HEIGHT ~ Tall for a Miqo'te at 5 fulms, 9 ilms. HAIR COLOUR ~ Deep black with burnished red highlights visible when light hits them just right. HAIR STYLE ~ Silky and thick, T'sal's hair is a deep black that he keeps smoothed back from his face. He lets it grow long, though keeps it trimmed to avoid ratty ends. (Game does not offer a long enough style right now, he should have hair down between his shoulder blades.) TAIL AND EAR FUR ~ T'sal's tail and ears are full long-hair, similar to the fur found on a black maine coon cat. IE: Long silky fur, very full tail, tufts at the top of his ears. (There are 3 different images linked for reference.) EYE COLOUR ~ Very bright silver. The Details EXPRESSION ~ Distant, disinterested, disapproving and annoyed. Those are his USUAL expressions. He can be prodded into rages, which can be scary, but those are very rare. His smiles are 'keen' and can be chilling to people though he can put on a 'pleasant' smile when he has to, though anyone who knows him will recognize it as a 'mask expression' and not real. DEMEANOR ~ Usually quiet and serious, he appears to brood heavily when alone and seems very detached from the world around him, as if he holds no interest in it. He adapts to those around him when he is in the company of others leading very observant people to accuse him of simply putting on masks and pretending to have the emotions he shows. ATTIRE ~ Crisp and clean, T'sal prefers tunics with full sleeves, tight breeches and tall boots. He tends to wear finger-less gloves to let his sharp nails free for practical use. He keeps a book attached to his belt along with multiple pouches for his inks, quills and other necessary nick-nacks. And one dedicated to his sweets... When he takes time to go down to the docks to help out, a habit his adopted father installed in him and to keep an eye out for anything interesting coming off the ships, he will strip his shirt off to avoid damaging it and getting it soaked in the work-induced sweat. POSE ~ Whatever the artist finds appropriate for their image, I suppose. In my head I often picture him sitting at his window-seat with the window open to the sea breeze looking up at the night sky with his flute resting in his lap... but that's just me. NOTES ~ I'm all too happy to see what people would be interested in doing regarding T'sal's appearance. That said, I hope people will avoid some things... particularly if they go against his personality/temperament/character. IE: Hugging, anything remotely romantic(at the moment), etc. That's just... not T'sal. WIKI ~ T'salmaveth Sadi'a The References

Well, I don't think it will do that. The code for the minipet is on a card inside of the booklet for the CD. You'll be fine. Since they sold them in other stores in Japan that didn't require SE accounts, it wouldn't make sense to auto-apply codes. You're good.
-
I know. I just... can't help it. Minipets MUST be collected. And who doesn't want a floating red beachball with doo-dads sticking out of it? >_> To put it into perspective... I played WoW since vanilla-beta and in BC when they added achievements.... I opened my mailbox and found an albino drake mount the day the patch launched and went 'huh, where did that come from?'..... because I collect... stuff. Mounts, pets.... THINGS. :dazed: I never have enough bag space. I'm just so desperately glad it is a game-thing or else I'd be on a particular TV show. (PS: My favorite song is Fever Dreams because it's just... creepy awesome. I love creepy music.)

I... I.... I did. /hangs head In fact, I had a friend order it the second it went up on Amazon.jp for me and I have it sitting next to me right now. I... must... have... all... minions... D:

The problem with that is that shows, nay screams, really shoddy planning for a world-wide launch and a world-wide game. It's lazy and bad. And they have people hired SPECIFICALLY to do community relations. Granted, I feel bad for the person/people that got saddled with it on the NA/EU side, because they probably can only say things that have been approved through the JP offices.... and if they do not appropriately have staff up and arranged shift-wise to handle a full weekend-beta that is world-wide, they deserve every bit of bad feelings they have garnered. I love and support the game, but I do not believe in giving anyone, or any company, a pass for doing badly at something. They did it. They own it. They have to accept the consequences of it. I don't need any 'white knights' saying 'it is only beta'... I've worked through beta and launch, I know how bad and hectic it is. I know that people in SE are scrambling like crazy. But they are not treating the potential customers AND the media who will be writing and reviewing this well. And it will get them a LOT of bad press. And they will have earned it. They're not new to this MMO thing, nor to have servers and centers out of country. This does not look good for them, no matter what excuses people try to use. /SIGH All I can do is hope that early access is stable at this point. And that they don't wipe the servers, I did my time getting up at 4am to be SURE I got where I wanted to be.
-
My issue is the lack of communication. The fact that the error persists is bad, yes. It's beta. I've been there. It's hell company-side... but to have no updates in over 6 hours on the only source people CAN right now(twitter, since forums are down and they don't post crap on FB) is just really bad. It's getting them and will get them bad press. And I can't really say they don't deserve it for this shoddy response to players. Even if it is beta, at least give us some status updates. Seriously.

I think I'm up to 10hours of 3102 now. I'm so happy my friends and I did manage to get onto Balmung(yippie for being up at 4am...) but now I'm the ONLY one out of them to be locked out. I know this is 'just beta'... I've worked in the game industry and on the launch of a massive MMO before. But this is just being really poorly handled. The lack of updates about it is what is really killing me. If they're trying to build up good PR/rapport with fans to bring them in/back in after how badly the first launch went, this is a classic case of how NOT to do it. It's pretty much ruining my Sunday, honestly... I guess I work more on the little story I was writing for T'sal but still... when you have no life and this was what you were kind of basing your weekend around, it burns a bit.

>_> <_< This lady right here really can't stand sea food. I have had all kinds and traveled almost all over the world and I just... don't like fish/shellfish/etc. Gimme steak. Chicken. Goat. Rabbit. Zebra(I kid you not, it was really good!) Just... no fish. (And my mother said I was an embarrassment when I lived less than 10min from Rockport in Salem, MA and refused to eat any lobster...) I DO love baking, though. I make cake balls when I'm bored for my gaming group... and I also made for them a few times... (Hand made chocolate chip cookie layer, oreos, fudge brownies....)
