I'd be happy to! Alternatively, just let me know your preference while I'm matchmaking. I'll probably be sending a lot of whispers to people anyway to sort out the RPers from any non-RPing spectators.

You can’t escape this poster, residents of Eorzea. It’s there in every city state, pasted on every bit of wall where bill posting is legal. Or not strictly legal, but tolerated. Or just where there weren’t too many lawmen around to stop the culprit. A few have been torn down (even a few that were posted legally, in Gridania. Such is the fate of any poster with a duskwight on it) but whoever’s been sticking them up is clearly undeterred. …and if you’ve somehow managed to escape it despite that, then don’t think you’re off the hook. It also comes in flier form, being handed out very enthusiastically by a masked duskwight in a red maid’s dress and a jester’s cap.

It's largely that the connection is the other way around. The elementals probably don't care about duskwights - the game goes of of its way to main the point that the redbellies have a lot of very capable conjurers, and like you said they've lasted this long without being greenwrath'd. The connection is people in Gridania saying that the elementals have a problem with them. This comes up in some levequests (there's definitely a mining one (infuritatingly enough, not one that's on my list right now) that can be summed up as 'so the Duskwights are trying to make Gelmorra livable again so the redbellies can live without being criminals? Suddenly the elementals hate the ruins of Gelmorra and we need to smash them up!') and in NPC dialogue, I'll try to find/screencap. The short version is that it's less 'the elementals have a problem with duskwights' and more 'gridanians say the elementals have a problem with duskwights as an excuse to make thier lives difficult'. (I've also heard a lot of people talk about how the Gridanians aren't xenophobic at all and that their dislike of the duskwights is entirely elemental-related, but I'm not sure where they got that from ingame and I suspect that it's not the case.)
-
The Lancer quest (in which a Duskwight who confessed to a crime was punished disproportionately harshly while his non-duskwight accomplices went unpunished), as well as Buscarron's quests (which state that his place is the only one in Gridania that will serve duskwights - whether the canopy is an exception or whether that's a case of 'make exceptions for the PC is unclear), make it pretty clear that it's the whole of Gridania. No doubt this was caused over generations of influence by the wildwoods, but the end result is pretty much the same.
-
I have to say I'm a little confused by this - should people like the duskwights be spontaneously turning into wildwoods in order to be allowed into Gridania? The major problem isn't unwillingness to change, it's the fact that Gridanians don't want them around at all.

I really, really like Sounsy's take on the WHM problem. They're all creative solutions that keep the actual job as unique as the lore intended because to use them you're building your character around being a white mage, but just saying 'oh and she'he happens to be a white mage nbd. Love or hate the lore, it's there and to just plain ignore it is really, really inconsiderate to fellow RPers. It's not impossible to work around it, and the restrictions can create some really interesting and unique characters who might have otherwise been 'just a white mage'.

I don't see why RPing miqo'te as catlike has to be comedic/cutesy, really. Cats do more than purr and 'nyaaaa~'. There's a lot of genuine character and drama to be got out it. I'd also be careful with playing out enhanced senses to make sure you're not accidentally godmoding, depending on the people you're with. The only sense miqo'te have, in lore, that is inherently sharper than those of the other races is smell. While I can see them having sharp eyesight and hearing (especially directional hearing, as someone mentioned in this thread), they're not going to see something a wildwood can't or out-hear a duskwight (assuming identical circumstances for both characters. obviously they'd see better than a blind wildwood) since those races are, in lore, the ones with the sharpest eyesight and hearing respectively. Sarja, my keeper, is deliberately beastlike - her family have been victims of Gridanians being Gridanians for generations and have chosen to respond with 'if they're going to treat us like beastmen then we're damn well going to act like them'. While she's very intelligent and capable of doing the respectable person act (and often does when it seems advantageous), Sarja has been raised to think of herself as a beast and will act appropriately when left to her own devices. This does include some of the standard cutesy fare - emoting with ears and tail, purring and rolling her rs specifically - but also things like happily eating meat raw, biting and scratching when threatened, using demands and allowances for personal space to establish control, giving gifts of food as a statement of 'look you're a shit hunter and obviously can't take care of yourself' and so on. Frankly if people had laptops in Eorzea she's probably sit on them and refuse to budge until petted.

My half of Asyun's two images is done! Apologies for the delay! My last tablet nib wore out and I've had to wait on new ones for a while because of the post around the holidays. Hope you like it! (Ansemaru is having irl things and has been away from home for the holidays, I believe. I may be taking on some of his images once I'm done with my own backlog, if he's still having difficulties. Thanks for everyone's patience.)

That doesn't make it any less rude/presumptuous to put up something like this about other people's characters, especially considering the subject matter. We didn't agree, OOCly or ICly, to any of this at all - literally the only thing we agreed to about this was to talk to this character - and we should have been asked before this was put up.
-
What the hell? Lansquenet agreed to talk to your character. That is not the same as agreeing to take part in slavery. If you could actually work things out and agree on stuff OOCly before god-moding people into involvement in your plots that would be really great, thanks. Actually asking permission before saying people's characters are doing things is the polite thing to do!

Unfortunately, it does need to be said, even if it seems like it shouldn't. There are people who don't understand this - there were quite a few on Gilgamesh, though I've yet to run into any on Balmung. They are the ones who any negative feelings about ERP are aimed at, both because of their complete disregard for the comfort of others (and, again, for the law, since they're doing this in the open where minors can see it) and also because they become, for a lot of people, the 'face' of RP in general. They attract trolls to all RPers because people respond to RPers from then on with the same amount of care for people's comfort as they saw them displaying.
-
...okay, so either the term 'get your rocks off' means something entirely different in the UK than it does wherever you are or you are admitting to some very odd things. That said, ERP is fine as long as it's kept private. And honestly I don't see where this stigma is, beyond the fact that people would rather it be kept private to allow younger players to participate and because some people really don't want to see that shit and should be allowed to avoid it.

Sadly it looks like no amount of emergency commissions is going to get us housing with those prices, so no. I'll try to get around to putting up a normal commissions thing at some point. And Ami's image is done! You can send money to Cendrillon Braids once the game's back up. I'll PM you the full PNG image when you do! EDIT: just now realized I've forgotten her face markings. I'll add those in once payment's done!

I have you flisted and can usually get people to come online for interviews, but it's been busy with holiday and other IRL stuff. I promise I will be able to get to you shortly!

SPOILERS - Will the 2.0 finale become the RP "present time"?

I imagine that around the time Operation Archon was announced it'd be pretty widespread knowledge that the Gaeleans had done something to spur the Alliance into action with such sudden haste. That said, I doubt the specifics would be widely known and I certainly doubt anyone but the scions and the main character would know how close the Alliance actually came to giving in.
