There was a post a while back on the beta forums that tested some stats. DEX was proven to have no effect on accuracy itself; it just lowered the enemy's evasion chance. There is a distinct difference in game between evade and miss. Your accuracy is based on your weapon: every weapon has an accuracy stat. Dex also increases parry rate but doesn't increase evasion. Evasion is attached to armor. Edit: Forgot to mention that DEX was also shown to increase Crit chance. It was believed that strength increased all DoW attack power, but whether or not that is different for Archer has yet to be determined. I didn't see any hard evidence either way in the beta forums. All this information is only current as of closed beta 3... whether or not it has changed in open or will in release is currently a mystery to me.

I dunno, I think knowing Chinese is pretty important when you're playing an MMO... How else am I supposed to harass the RMTs? ä½ å¦å¦é£ä¹è: å大éé¥çæ¶ï¼å¥¹åå®äºï¼ Sorry... that's a really lame your mother joke I came up with when I started learning Chinese. It basically says that your mom is so fat that she ate out communism. In China, the communistic belief that everyone gets the same as everyone else is called 'everyone eating out of a big pot'. So it says, your mom is so fat when everyone ate from the big pot, she ate it all! ... it works better in Chinese... =X

Katt finally finishes the meal she was cooking, and looks around at the other chefs. Not entirely confident in herself, she submits her three course meal... spaghetti squash strips topped with a creamy tomato sauce sautéed with garlic shrimp and a basil leaf on top followed by grilled miso sea bass on top of a lentil salad and finally a mini red velvet bundt cake for dessert topped with dark chocolate sauce and spun sugar for garnish. Katt wipes the sweat off her brow and for the first time since the competition started, takes a look around the room. She finally notices that Tai is missing and how many people have entered the establishment. "Wow...," she thought to herself, "I really do get entranced by cooking."

I wasn't in a role play ls when I played FFXI but about 3-4 years after I had started the game, I found out everyone thought I was a girl... even people who I had told I was a guy when I started...
-
((I don't know how I' was supposed to continue... DAISHI was doing the other chefs and I couldn't really continue the competition without him... guess I'll get stop that story and become a part of the new one...))
-
Ahh... was wondering why the other chefs weren't doing anything...
-
The servers I'm hosting from might have been down for maintenance... *shrug*
-
o_O works for me... what's going on with you?
-
@ Stanzie I trade you loves for beta invite yes? *hugs* Just teasing.

Katt, a little confused why Alam backed out of the tournament, pumped herself up. She quickly grabbed a basket and rushed towards the ingredients grabbing shrimp, sea bass, spaghetti squash, garlic, carrots, lentils, tomatoes, butter, flour, sugar, eggs, and various produce, herbs, spices, oils, wines, and dairy products throwing them into her basket. She then rushed towards her station to begin cooking.
-
"I am ready chef!" she responds vehemently.
-
Katt stares blankly at the scene that just unraveled in front of her... "Wow..." was the only word she could muster forward.
-
Loki is still there... I sent her a PM, she responded that Loki is just very observant. When she says observant I think she means playing FFXIV Beta... Anyway, we need some crazy guy to start our "MAAAAAAGGGGGNEEEEESSSSIIIIIIUUUMMMMM CHEEEEEFAAARRUUUUUU!!!!" battle!

Katt waits patiently for the competition to start, growing slightly impatient. "Well, all good things come with a price," she says, "and I suppose today's price is patience."

Haha, no problem, I didn't know if it was a character quirk or not. I just wanted to tell you now so you wouldn't be embarrassed by it later. Better to get the names wrong now than after the game goes live. "I want fish! What will you have Nana?" Good , I already have the courses picked out.
-
Nana is pretty overbearing but I like it. I fell like she wouldn't be as fun if she weren't. Overall I think she is a great character. Not quite sure how my character feels about her yet though... I would like to point out though... we're called Miqo'te not Mo'qito... you've almost been calling us boogars in spanish... >_> http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/moquito Edit: You know technically Siben and Loki are still on scene... Editx2: I've been having a lot of fun with your characters as well

Katt startled by Nanapariri's response says, "Well, the prize isn't necessary. It's well worth it just getting a chance to try my hand in the kitchen against such fine chefs... assuming all preparations are complete head chef, I think we're ready to start." ((Edit: I think we need to know the rules of the competition though. How many courses? 3 or more?))
-
((It's funny, when I wrote the bio for my character... she had two talents. Writing and cooking... didn't expect to get a chance to RP cooking ... this'll be fun!))
-
Katt took the apron as one of the chefs handed it to her, "Hmm, when does the competition start?" she asks the head chef. "I'm in the middle of a conversation with Nanapariri right now, but I do love to cook so I may actually be interested in joining in... you know, Katt turns towards Nanapariri, how about I make dinner for all of us?" motioning toward her table and Tai on the other side of the restaurant, "Consider it my treat." ((Woohoo time for some Iron Chef RP!)) ((Edit: I feel really bad that my character is so easily distracted Nana  ))
-
((I don't even know how to respond to that DAISHI  but I've been trying to post this since before the other thread was locked... )) Katt gave an alarmed glance at Tai, "W-what the hell just happened?" she wondered to herself. "I better be careful, if her mere introduction can effect Tai that much, I don't want to know what else she's capable of..." At that moment, Tai was assaulted by the chef's of the kitchen. Katt giggled before returning attention to her table. Katt smiles at Nanapariri, "You may call me Katt, it is a pleasure to meet you ma'am. I thank you for the offering of a meal, but I'll have to pass. I'm not accustomed to borrowing the money of people I just met. Besides, I've brought plenty of gil to last me this trip. If you could, ma'am, just state the reason that you called me over." "But it seems something exciting is making its way into the Bismarck, it may be difficult to talk here."
-
She waves to Vaelyn, "You have a good night then," she responds smiling, noticing the Lalafell call over to her. Katt began to turn towards Tai to see his response, just in time to see him plop himself down at their table. "Well I suppose it wouldn't hurt to listen to her" she thought to herself, making her way towards the table and sitting herself down next to Tai.

I actually read a recent study somewhere that proved that you could run pretty much any game just fine with just 3 GB of ram, I'll see if I can find the study. Also, as Kashemia said, if you go over 4 GB you'll want 64 bit. 32 bit can only assign memory usage up to 4 GB, so you end up with about 3.5 GB available ram... So, Kashemia, you should be able to get a 2GB stick of ram for less than $50 and won't even need to worry about upgrading to 64 bit. 4 GB should be able to play the game just fine, especially if that's the only aspect you're worrying about...
-
"You can call me Katt," she responds laughing. "I'm just in town for business. Was supposed to pick up a manuscript for my Dad, he runs a publishing business over near Ishgard, right next to my mom's library... funny story how they met actually, but that's a story for another time... " she comments offering a hand. ((Love the new avatar Sham))
-
Katt gave a questioning glance at the Lalafell, "Well, I have been wanting to write a book, but my parents own a publishing..." she hears a loud crack behind her, seeing a Duskwight fall out of his chair. "O-O-One second please!" she exclaimed as she ran over to the Duskwight's side, "A-Are you ok, sir?" ((Maybe Sham and I just don't sleep? lol...))
