  1. Upgraded. Love it. Had some issues with nVidia drivers and then FFXIV, but those are sorted now. (Will probably clean install this weekend, as I don't like leftovers from "upgrading.") I've been using Win10 since September or so, and honestly I liked Windows 8/8.1 too. I've never understood why people always give the new WinOSes so much static when they come out; if they wanted everything to be the same, why bother upgrading? Anywho... The layout is different, but if you don't mind learning the interfact, I think you'll really like it. I'm slowing converting everyone in the office by showing them all the cool stuff I can do. (Enhanced window management, multi desktop, Cortana, Xbox One Streaming, etc.)
  2. If you're lazy like I am... https://www.soylent.com/
  3. I have had luck in the past waiting until right after the server comes back online post-maintenance. Go ahead save the character design you want so all you have to do is load, choose your birthday, diety, and starting class, then away you go!
  4. Sounds perfect! I'll look for you in-game!
  5. I'd be more than happy to be In-game pen pals with you! Send ol' Bosch Schmidt a message sometime! Should be fun to see what we can do with a twitter-like 200-character limit.
  6. Greetings, everyone. I'm Crossarchus, and it's great to be here. I'm fan of structure, so I'm going just jump right into the template here! MMORPG Background My first MMORPG was Star Wars Galaxies. I started at launch, and I wasn't very good at it, but it was a lot of fun. I didn’t realize what I was doing most of the time could be considered to be RP. I would generally do my very best to interact with people as though I were an NPC. I wanted to know as much about the universe as possible and use that to enhance the experience of the other players. This is my first experience with FFXIV. RP Experience The first MMORPG I ever "officially" RP'd in was Everquest II, and I've been doing it ever since! I still like to keep that "I'm an NPC" mentality, but that doesn't mean I don't like to interact. I just generally prefer to be reactive, I like to play support roles, and I am generally slow to get into RP as I can never seem to do enough research on Lore. Character Ideas/Info I'm an alt-oholic for sure, as I never know what sort of character will fit in or support a community. Though I do lots of lore research, I don't do a ton of character planning beforehand. I like to know the basics, start with an archetype, and then whittle their respective personalities down from there. How did you learn about the coalition? I learned about this community from a YouTube video that came up after searching for "FFXIV Roleplaying Servers". What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? I'm definitely a heavy role-player, preferring to be in-character as much as possible. I don't mind OOC chatter though. I think it is good for people to know the player behind the character, after all. Work, School, Hobbies, etc. I keep pretty busy. (I don’t believe in boredom.) I've a full-time internship and I'm a university student as well. I row competitively and I've been taking blacksmithing/metalworking courses at a local arts center. I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone and eavesdropping on your RP as soon as the servers will let me in!
