As far as I am concerned, there is no more problems logging in

I am putting the finishing touches on Hansem background and persona, and I have been wondering where the RP was on Balmung. Haven't seen much yet even though I understand people are working on their characters... So, is there a spot you guys recommend to hang out? Thanks in advance

Other games to pass the time
Hansem Wildsteel replied to Cosmic Mage's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Wow for my part, but also investing this free time to have a suitable backstory for Hansem and creating his wiki page. -
That is a good news, honestly, the login problems are very bothersome, but the game is so good from what I saw that I am ready to stick with it.

A Brave soul in a Brave new World
Hansem Wildsteel replied to Hansem Wildsteel's topic in Welcome Desk
HEARING FROM HIM…. It had been three weeks since the mining operation me and mybrother were working at had collapsed in southern Thanalan. Two brothers divided by fifty tons of rock, with only one difference. He ended up on the wrong side of the gallery. While I was able to escape quite easily, he was not, sadly,as he was stuck in the mine. Of course many air vents were a possible escape route, but it would be extremely difficult for a Hyur to climb there. Rescue team were pilling the corpses outside the mine for days after the collapse, but my brother was never recovered, giving me a weird mix of despair and hope. Until one week ago were I heard that someone fitting his description, who looked to be suffering from amnesia, had just boarded a caravan for Ul’dah…. -
Main Storyline: A Matter of Taste, or RP Etiquette?
Hansem Wildsteel replied to Gone4everbye's topic in RP Discussion
Now, do not lapidate me please, but I will say it : This is something that World of Warcraft did exceptionnally well. Your characters were in the main storyline, but as a support cast to the main characters of Azeroth. So you never were in the spotlight alone. That is how I roleplay in FF14, If I see and fight a primal, I prefer to think that it was with a huge group of adventurer, in support of the main characters, doing something relatively minor like creating a diversion for the minions of the said primal. Anyhow, as of now, I am still pretending in game that the storyline does not exist. Also, I imagine primal being way too strong to be killed by 4 adventurers. I mean, Bahamut ripped Hydaelin apart..... -
A Brave soul in a Brave new World

ANOTHER WAY TO EXPLOIT A TALENT Met this goblin fellow today, and since an adventurer is onlyreally as good as its equipment, I Listened very carefully as he explained to me how to augment weapons and armor through material. I guess this is what will distinguish me from other rag-tags out there. Anyway, I have already amassed a considerable sum in gear inthe limited time I have been in Eorzea. So, since I wish to continue doing that, and since I have no sign of my brother yet, might as well upgrade my gear. This means that through all my conjurer training (thosespells do indeed come in handy to a warrior, even if the training is taxing) I will have to learn yet another craft, that will allow me to craft those material. Now, the logical thing to do would be to complement mymining interest, so I will be dropping by the guilds today to see what interests me the most…. -
A replacement for tuneup utilities
Hansem Wildsteel replied to Hansem Wildsteel's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Touché! Did not even think about it...lol, thanks -
I would say that my character trained to overcome a weakness but ultimately failed. level 15 is pretty much basic training, so it would fit. That being said...why would any class with a physical component be included in a black mage job is beyond me....

Hi, I run the beta of Windows 8.1 and it considers tuneup utilities as incompatible. The result is I get a program called one click starter that pop everytime tuneup does an action. Now, I would not mind too much, but that program closes FFXIV ( it causes an error every single time ) and it also prevents me from alt-tabbing out of FFXIV without getting dropped. So, anyone knows a good replacement ( Tuneup is a file and registry cleaner, and a system optimizer, basically ) Thanks a lot

A Brave soul in a Brave new World
Hansem Wildsteel replied to Hansem Wildsteel's topic in Welcome Desk
A bit more on Hansem (This is a part of background that your character will not know at first, but will help you understand Hansem ) THE WELL BEING….OF OTHERS ( HANSEM’SOBSSESSION ) Hansem, while not being the quiet type, is someone whovalues efficiency and results. He is not the biggest of talkers, and prefers actions and quick thinking. He is definitely a perfectionist. Now that he has seen the sultansworn in battle, he will strive to complete is art by learning abilities to complement his sword use (mainly white magic as he feels it is his duties to protect others.) This incomparable obsession for the wellbeing of otherscomes from a mining accident, a collapse, where he lost his brothers during the cataclysm. He felt powerless during the incident, and made a vow tonever let that happen again. But, is his brother dead? A MINER’S DREAM Hansem comes from a family of miners. He was always reallyexcited to go to the mine with his dad, and search rocks for precious metals. His family always lived off of the land, and this is why he has great respect for it and would naturally oppose everyone who tries to desecrate it. -
Despite everything that is happening...
Hansem Wildsteel replied to Apoc1216's topic in FFXIV Discussion
This is the whole thing, people are mad at servers issues why? Because the game is freakin great...even I from the limited playtime I logged saw that...this will be home for a while -
So, here they are : 1) Chat is confusing me. When you are in a city, which channel do people use (is it /yell?) as when I use say, my chat is white, and all the rest is red. Plus no one ever answer me, so I Wonder if I am doing this all right. 2) How can you move the chat window? 3) When can you use a mount. 4)What is the difference between a linkshell and a free company ( and which one is a guild? ) That covers part of it, thanks in advance folks

MMORPG background Wow, EQ2, DDO, Neverwinter, Aion, Terra (for a short while) RP experience My experience started in DnD back in 1990. I have been RPing for more than 20 years, and DMing many campaigns. I RP in all the MMO I play Character ideas/info Main is Hansem Wildsteel, a miner from a poor upbringing. He quickly learns, in this new world, that he will need to add some strings to his bow if he wishes to survive, thus training currently to handle a sword and a shield. He is looking for his brother, that might have survived the cataclysm. Mining his a passion though, its in his blood. How did you learn about the coalition? had no idea you guys existed until I was looking for a rp group for FFXIV. its nice to meet people with the same hobby. What kind of a role-player are you aiming to be? Light, medium, or heavy? Heavy, lore abidding ( still Learning the lore though ). Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? I have been immersed in all FF games since day one, except FF11 since I prefered Wow at the time. I am truly excited to finally immerse myself online in a FF universe

Well, in an out of game perspective (and ignoring this whole E/A fiasco) wasn't he doing just that with him bringing us ARR and stuff? Haha, well, yeah, he was -

Thank you for your work on recapping this... Great story, but I still have a hard time with the fact that SE made Bahamut, shining beacon of light and good, well....evil... -
The Raven's Eye Inn and Tavern (Inactive)
Hansem Wildsteel replied to Kima wolf's topic in Chronicles
This would fit my character perfectly, as he is a professionnal miner that supplement is income with the odd adventuring job from time to time, and he would be interested in a location as the tavern. Are you still recruiting? -
Logged in 90 minutes and started mining...loved it, now get me some stability darn

Adventure's Guild (event proposal)
Hansem Wildsteel replied to lady2beetle's topic in Chronicled Events
1. Where should it be How about a rotation of the three city states, one different city per week, as it is not easy for younger characters to travel. 2. When should it be Sunday is perfect. Great idea by the way! -
