If it only had been at a more European-friendly time...
-
Still happily looking at her recovered far-too-large wizard hat, Midaja didnt even notice the other woman leaving her, but the word "wrench" settled down somewhere in her head, and she was just thinking about visiting said place, when she saw something that wiped the smile from her face immediately: a large crack in her precious hat! "Oh no... Mum will be furious about that..." she murmured before putting the cloth back on her head, pulling it far down, so her fluffy ears plopped out of the holes in the upper part. Nonetheless her ears and tail twitched gladly as she was heading towards the Wench, taking a deep breath of non-boozer air before stepping inside, quickly spotting the now known white-haired Miqo'te and the crazy alchemist, engineer, whatever man. Walking over to them she asked: "Hey, is the big muscleman still anywhere around? The tailor one?"
-
Being even more confused after being interrupted in her thoughts again, she watched to other Miqo'te woman up and down before spotting the headpiece. "Ooooh, yeeees, thats mine, thats mine!" She clapped into her hands and, for the first time today, let a feint smile appear on her face. "Can I have it? I didnt hope for someone actually bringing it back to me... This whole town seems all together to be much more thievisch than Gridania..." she said in a more lost-in-thought maner.
-
With a low sigh Midaja slowly returned to the setting of the prior events, blinking a few times as everyone went off, especially the rather heavy built tailor, and with them her chance of getting a new hat immediately. So she just stand there, in the middle of the street, starting to think. After a few minutes she seemed to have made her decision and turned right, only to be surprised by a hyur woman standing there, having arms folded and looking quite sternly. "Hey, girl, what do you think you're doing, standing in the middle of a crowded street with your big ears not recording anything? Move you're ass! You're blocking the way!" and with one finger she pointed at a big chocobo. Not saying anything the young Miqo'te stepped aside, watching the elegant bird passing by. She blinked a few times, having forgotton what she had intended to do.
-
"I.... Er.... Well..." She eyed the newcomer up and down, having a brief look at his assortment. "I can hardly believe your a weaver, you seem rather... Muscular and made for harsh work." Blinking a few times in confusion as she was handed the vial she now seemed lost in perplexity. "Wow, I didnt expect to find such helpful people out on the streets", she smiled for a short moment, "but I'd really prefer wearing a hat. I love hats, especially mine. Which... Is... Now dangling on a pole at the pier I suppose. And if I cant find mine, I want to have a similar one!" Folding her arms to emphasize her monologue she became aware of the vial still in her hand and gave it back. "And I dont think some liquid against heat will help my brain not to protest against solar radiation." After a brief sigh she curiously looked at the highlanders craftet cloth again, seeing a beret and a few other caps, but not what she was looking for. "Neeeeeow, there some kind of cute, but not what I want... And well, maybe I should try to find my own hat, before I buy a new one. I think Ill just... Go looking for it and then come back." And with no more words, but an expression in her face, like she just had the best idea of her whole life, she dashed away.
-
"Oh", she returned her attention to the others, "so it was you distributing those slippery flyers lying on the ground? So you're part of this crafter coalition? Do you have some good weaver? Maybe I'll need one soon, if my hat doesnt reappear as suddenly as it vanished..." She covered her head with her arms. "I don't like the sun, it makes my head ache." She blinked, returned to a normal stance and cocked her head, her pink eyes lost in thought. "But I doubt that you're interested in my quirks."
-
Raising one eyebrow she answered a simple "No, thanks" to the Hyur's offer, but now seemed much more interested in the conversation going on, "and if you" she pointet at the other Miqo'te "could have another, bigger place in town for the same amount of money you could just ask someone to share the bill, he getting the space you dont need. If it really is so hard to find a rather small location for an adequate price, and with your talent of drawing everyones attention, Im quite sure you'll find someone to pair with." Scratching her ear she added "Well, to make a deal with I mean..." while talking she was already scanning the area for her hat again, one hand resting on her temple.
-
With her hands covering her sensitive ears Midaja slowly walked past the source of piercing noise, shaking her head while trying to ignore the pulsative ache haunting her mind. She closed her eyes and quickened her pace towards the inn. Not watching her feet she slipped and fell landing nose-first on the cobblestone. "Ouchie..." Her large wizard hat was lying on the floor, fully revealing her black and red hair. She turned around to see the cause she stumbled: some weird advertisement parchment. Having a quick look at it, the young Miqo'te quickly lost interest in it, since there was no hint of where to get further information. So the decision was made to pursue the last thought: heading back home. Unfortunately her hat seemed to have disappeared and since she couldnt find it nearby, she walked over to the now a lot quiter pair of a Roegadyn and a Miqo'te (now also accompanied by some Hyur man). "Excuuuuse meeee? I think I just lost my hat, has anyone seen it?"

"Naah, ah merely wanted to say thaat ah aint in danger as long aas I don' fall 'sleep ata table with some ragtag meanies eeh? Aaaand then I r'membered that actually...", and she looked at the black kitty, narrowing her eyes, "Iiii absolutely dunno you mh?" Her cheeks still fierily flushed she shook her head, crossed her arms on the table and settled her head on them. "But if you think, thomeone being cap'ble of controlling magic would be safe from...", she turnd her head to the Hyur, "whatever danger yo'r sister might be in... Then I shouldn't have to worrrry." As the waitress approached them and poked her on the shoulder, Midaja immediately sat up and her tail went pointing straight into the air before she turned around and looked at the startled waitress who spilled half of the water when she had jumped back in surprise. "Oh... Soooorry... Yes, thank you...", she said sheepishly, took the bread and began nibbling on it.

While she listened to the black Miqo'tes story she began to wobble a bit on her chair, her face getting some kind of a dull expression, eyes following the hypnotic movement of the black tail twitching around while Koti spoke. She seemingly wanted to say something after the other one finished, opened her mouth but got interrupted by the roaring thunder, catching her off-guard and letting her wince at it. Regaining her forces after Rain had spoken, she folded her arms. "Aaam not strayin'! Ah can perfectly watch for myselff, not a child anymore eh. Aand for that storm out theere, the more it rains, the... The less the chance to get robbed on the streetsh mh? All those p'rates and thieves all gonna be drinking their filthy rum in a bar with..." She blinked several times, looked at her drink and then beamed at her two fellow companions. "Errr..."

I had French classes for 9 years, English 8 years, and Im sooooo much better in talking English than French And dont be so sure about every European speaking English... Im always surprised how many german people just dont care about English and as a result how many of them are hardly able to communicate on a higher level then "hello, my name is xyz, how are you?".
