  1. Hello everyone! If this isn't the right place for this thread, please let me know and I'll delete it. Essentially, I'm looking for someone who wouldn't mind doing a paid commission of the characters of myself and a friend of mine. This would be a waist up shot of both characters. I'm looking for someone who can draw either a shot of them as they currently are (Young adults, late teens/early twenties) or as younger children (Around the age of ten-twelve). I'm looking for a more realistic style (Defined noses and lips, no straight lines designating mouths, etc.) with an emphasis on color (The characters both display a lot of cool colors, but that doesn't mean they have to be drab). Please include references in response to this message or through PMs. My budget for this is 80$-100$ Cheers!
  2. I don't mind switching too much (I have a hotbar off to the side where I keep a bunch of my gear sets anyway), so I'll probably just wind up doing that - use the Allagan set for glamour gear since I really like the aesthetic and have the jackcoat/some Othardian glamours as different RP outfits for different occasions - Assuming there are some Othardian/Doman/Mhigan outfits that I like enough to pursue when they're ridiculously expensive.
  3. Option 1 is actually red too, but it's a much darker red. That's why I like option 2 more myself - the fabric dyes a much nicer Rolanberry red whereas option 1 just looks very weird when it's a lighter color. And I know that I can keep both, this is mostly just me looking for one that she'd wear a majority of the time.
  4. Hello all! So, with Stormblood ... eh, 3 and a half months away, and Yoshi-P confirming that RDM is going to get caster gear (INT primary stat), I'm starting to gather together a few potential glamours for my RDM. I have two so far that I'm kind of pleased with, but I'd love some help on more/feedback on what I already have. The criteria I've come up with are as follows: Before I go on, yes this is all subject to change - I know there'll be lots of glamours in Stormblood, and I'll be super excited to see what options are available - especially since I play an Au Ra and we'll be going to Othard. This is just me trying to nail down a few looks from the available items. Having a concept in mind for how I want my character to look ought to make subsequent glamouring easier. 1. Legs open in the front. No robes that'd need to be pulled on overhead - I want as many overcoat/cloak/pants looks as possible. Knee-length skirts are fine, I just don't want something that'd be too restrictive. Can't have my character pulling off all of those fancy sword strikes and combos and tripping over her own robes. 2. Modest skirts to pants only. There are a lot of skirt options in this game that, because they're paired with a longer top, are... less than modest, to say the least. My character's not exactly the type to go around in something that short, especially since she's got the gator tail which looks like it demolishes most of those super short skirts. 3. No extra-elaborate fancy collars and ruffled sleeves. This is meant to be everyday travel/combat/exploration gear, not something to wear to a fancy ball. I know, I'm violating a RDM aesthetic rule when I say this, but I also wanna stand out a little bit. So, the two looks I have so far are as follows: Archaeoskin Jackcoat of Gathering: This, coupled with the Dinosaur Leather Shoes, which are basically sneakers, really fits the roughing it aesthetic I'm going for, but I worry that it's a little TOO generic. Considering it could fit any class, not just casters. Plus, I don't like how the rope in the back (can't be seen in the shot) clips with my tail. But tail clipping is something I'll have to learn to deal with, I'm sure. http://imgur.com/a/7jq7n This next one is a more Allagan-inspired RDM using the Replica Allagan top and High Allagan pants/boots. If I had to pick, I'd say I prefer this one because A: It's caster-specific and B: It doesn't have as many additions to it like the Jackcoat does. http://imgur.com/a/XkmEH So, of these two, which do you prefer? Also, any thoughts for additional tops/boots/pants that would fit those criteria? Thanks in advance!
  5. I want to bear your children. Which comes off as incredibly awkward, considering the context in which that post was written.
  6. The issue is I already used the one they said I get on my Miqo'te for a completely arbitrary appearance change.
  7. Hey, So - I know this is a repeat of a thread I did about a month ago, but I was wondering if there's been any headway on these alleged additional Fantasia phials and name changes we're supposed to be getting? I'm aware that they're coming, that they're not included in the next batch of Veteran Rewards... but any information I try to pry up on the topic reverts back to stuff back towards the beginning of the game's launch. Does anyone have any more information regarding this?
  8. My interpretation of the story was much different. From what I saw, you are sent on a mission to get the actual relic from whateverplaceitwaslast, and then have it basically repaired/added to. You get a bow, for example, to be the 'base' for the original relic to be rebuilt upon. He's not forging replicas, he's reforging the relic itself using what you bring him. It's interesting how different interpretations of the story come about! And there are so many of them. This is where the Relic quests get so darned confusing. Because, while there is only one Thyrus, only one Curtana, and so forth... there are apparently multiple Stardust Rods. And, though I've been led to believe this isn't the case, I swear I read that the Omnilex was part of the standard Scholar uniform. Gae Bolg is a title for a lance, not one particular lance. But that's just roleplaying with very finite resources. Just because there's more than one Stardust Rod doesn't mean everyone can have one... and then when people start laying claim to them, bad things happen. Hence why I like the replica/ "Like X but not" theory, for sanity's sake.
  9. Wait... Aren't Dragoons a military organization in and of themselves? So would it not be possible to have a character trained by a Dragoon? Not to derail my own topic or anything. As other people have said, I want to be perfectly clear that I am not planning on playing with "The" Omnilex - especially because "The" Omnilex is probably pretty well sunk in the Sapsa Spawning Grounds, somewhere. A book of similar power? Sure. Insofar as a book can have -power. Pretty drawings? I don't know. That just opens up a whole 'nother can of worms about whether an Arcanist's math skills and handwriting determine their combat capabilities. Now, as for the fairy thing... I do plan to play my character (who is going to be female, for the sake of pronoun confusion) as having one. Maybe even having some sort of rapport with it. However, as someone has suggested, I will keep this particular aspect of my RP out of the community. I have a fairly nice little plot cooked up with some friends, but for spontaneous RP? My Scholar isn't going to whip out her fairy and make everyone admire it, don't worry. My FC pretty much just defaults to the "It's been a while since these jobs were first brought back into the fore - so they're becoming more and more available to the public," thing.
  10. Dawn Vigil assisted you in its acquisition, right? Personally speaking, I would start from there. Write a little IC snippet about how your character was part of an anti-Primal team sent by the Scions. Or that they helped him recover necessary magical components for the tome from Primal territory. Gerolt's dialogue seems fairly clear enough that the items he fixes up for adventurers are high-quality replicas, not the one-and-only original prototypes, so don't worry too much about that aspect. If anyone gives you crap for RPing your relic, that's what the blacklist function is for. You earned it, you RP it however you see fit. I really like this idea.... I never thought to incorporate something like that. Assuming Dawn Vigil are cool with that, I think I might be using this idea.
  11. Was it? I was led to believe, through the quest, that there were multiple copies. Which was then somewhat redacted by having to go get "A compilation of tales about -the hero- who wielded your weapon." Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly aware of how roleplaying such a weapon would be seen by the greater community. I'm sorry if it wasn't made clear by the body of the OP, this post is about how best to execute roleplaying a weapon that's in the same ballpark.
  12. Hey guys, So, after going through a -weird- Botanist fugue for about a month, I'm back to playing my good old fashioned Scholar. And I'm within reach of my Relic Weapon too! (As in, one bottle of oil to put out the hottest fire in all known creation close). So, I've been thinking about how exactly to roleplay this sort of thing (And feel free to open this thread to a discussion of other Relic Weapons as well). So, I'm asking my fellow Arcanists/Scholars/Summoners - how do you treat your Grimoires (And please correct my spelling) in terms of roleplay? When it comes to the lore behind the Omnilex, it's described as -the- complete military history of Nym... But what does that mean in terms of use in combat? Is it actually a chapter book full of information on various battles, or a bunch of geometric diagrams to focus aether around? Also, if anyone has a compilation of the lore behind Nym and the Scholars, please send it my way. I'm currently working on developing my Scholar into someone's sort of mentor character - and I need something to reference! Pretty much all I know is that there was some kind of conflict between a bunch of magic using factions, and the Scholars sort of kicked ass. And that a Scholar/Marauder team is described as an excellent combat unit.
  13. Thank you guys so freaking much. Even though I spent the majority of Phase 5 in the lava - heh. Stupid finnicky Landslides.
  14. What food do you guys suggest I bring? (Undergeared piddly Scholar here) Also, is the Mumble information available somewhere else on the RPC site? Because I didn't see it in the thread.
