Thanks everyone! The massively link helped. So there seems to be 3 cinematics? The game's opening one. One you see when you afk on the login screen, and the 1.0 on Machinima? Those were cool, and answered some questions (though rose) a lot more to me. The story seems to be well thought out. The hyur archer guy seems to be the main focus of them all. Is he supposed to be "us" in relationship to us/Red in pokemon? Edit: Reading massively link still. It's explaining a lot!

So I have a question. Who was that elf (Sorry I can't spell that race) guy, the mage that casted something and smiled at the end making the heroes disappear? I'm guessing he's the one responsibile for making me reappear?

Why would I need to upgrade my class? Why is this?

I'm completely new to Final Fantasy, and I don't understand this. But, I've been told while I'm playing "yay bard :D" when people realize I am an Archer. I rolled an Archer because I thought it was the class I wanted to play on create a character. Now people are telling me at level 30 I need to make a new class... Pugalist and get to 15 and then go back to my Archer and become a Bard? I wanted an Archer! Not a singing guy that does nothing. . Why am I going to have to level to 30, then start over to 15? I thought I should just go all the way to 50. Can someone clear this up for me? I choose an Archer on purpose. Because I wanted to play a ranger/archer. The game has not been clear on this at all.

So! I'll just follow the main storyline up! If anything strangles up later, I can do it later, the side quests, hunter's log, etc?

Oh my god, guys! This is amazing! Thank you! I feel so random like jumping about. But, this makes so much more sense. And this class system confuses the heck out of me! The game isn't really straight forward with it. The classes confuse me so much.

The storyline took me from New Gridania to Limsa Lominsa and now I have to go out to outside of Limsa Lominsa, Yellowjacket area, where I have to take a ferry to the caves. Anyways, I wanted to know will the main questline, the storyline take me back to New Gridania It felt incomplete, and my Hunting Log is still incomplete. I kept running into level 30ish zones while in Gridania's Black Shroud and was wondering do I go back there? I'm thinking I should just follow the main story questline.

I'm trying to get a grasp of the lore in this game, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. I have some screenshots as well, which I'll share as I ask my questions. Input is very much welcome. Also, just a warning to other new people like me, this thread may contain spoilers. I am okay with things being spoiled to me, so don't feel bad about it if you reply to me! Okay, firstly, Kan-E-Senna had spoken about these people who came from another realm that defended Eorzea, they look like silhouettes, so I'm guessing basically mystery heroes that defended Eorzea and took so little credit that the Gridanian people (or the Eorzean?) call the Warriors of Light. Are they from another realm? Their technology looks advance and the cinematic looked like space a bit. So, they went to war with Eorzea? Why would they take down an entire moon to try and destroy them?What is the conflict? I'm guessing there were two conflicts, this from 15 years ago (Edit: Raubahn said it was 50, who is right?), and another one from 5 years ago (the calamity?). This dragon that Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn (How the heck do you pronounce that?) was talking about, the one that tried to create an eighth hell... was this that dragon? And did the dragon fight for Eorzea, Garlean, or was it opposing both sides? Are they researchers? Overseers? Or just heroes on an adventure? Now, they referred to the Masked Mage as the Lahabrea of the Asician (or Ascians? I hope I spelled that right...) what is that? Now, they keep talking about me, my character, Drystan Ashkir in the third person, like you can't be or you are... like they know more than I do... What is this? What are they talking about? Why can't everyone see Moogles? What exactly are they? Are the Hyur a younger race? And when Kan-E-Senna stated I have basked in the mother's light, was this the blue lights I saw at the beginning and around the level five quest? When I touched a light, I saw a giant crystal? Sorry! Hello Tirra Lirra! Thank you for welcoming me to the forums! . I'm glad they did a good job with this relaunch I guess it's a good time for me learning Final Fantasy. Right? Did everyone besides me pretty much try out Final Fantasy before? Haha >< Well, I love lore. The stories of World of WArcraft made me quite happy. Really, with Pandaria it was so nice that all the major quests/story lines spoke out loud to you! I was hoping Final Fantasy doesn't have them. I heard FFXIV 1.0 was really bad, I asked around about it and the best description I think I got it was it was like 10% complete so I responded: 15 minutes of a 2 hour movie at a theater, only the first 15 minutes done, the rest is just pictures of a pretty mountain. Does that desribe it well? So far I've noticed the Chocobos have a good storyline in themselves, as they were introduced to me by the game and what they were by the game. Hyur Midlanders seem to be the youngest and most inexperienced of the races. I also like how they look. I choose based on look before story, and now quite pleased. Thanks for the welcome! Would you guys mind someone who is new to Final Fantasy? I've had experience in games such as WoW, Allods Online, Rift, and LOTRO. But, I'm entirely new to Final Fantasy, I am also gay (and love the idea of an RP friendly and gay friendly guild). I'm willing to be social for now. I'm still leveling in game and learning it.

Hello there! I'm an extremely indecisive person. Seriously, I'll probably spend the entire evening on the character creation screen before making an impulse decision. I am entirely new to Final Fantasy, have never played it before. So this is my first time. Any mentor with the patience to work with me I would love to be able to be a part of the RP community of FFXIV as I learn the game and the lore and even the story. But, the screenshots I kept seeing across Twitter and gaming sites about Final Fantasy XIV: Realm Reborn looks amazing. [align=center][/align] Anything you know that can help me, please let me know. MMORPG background & RP Experience: So yeah! Anyways, I been playing on online post-by post games on forums (primarily ProBoards) since 2001. You know how people sometimes make test forums for themselves for their own uses? I did (and got a kickass name too) when I was twelve years old exactly eleven years, seven months, and twenty days ago. That is the exact date I first experienced role play. So yeah, anyways, I did love Warcraft III, Blizzard Entertainment gave me a free copy at a Make-A-Wish party and I got used to it, sadly, I couldn't play World of Warcraft because my mom didn't think computers were worth it, she thought they were useless. So, after a while, when I was 17 in 2007 I got World of Warcraft and started playing it. World of Warcraft was my first true mmorpg. For a while I played Allods Online (and was their first 'Astral Scholar'), and I tried out Rift and even Aion, and even Lord of the Rings Online (my cousins loved it and got it for me to play with them). So anyways, here I am! I thought Final Fantasy XIV looked awesome and I was told it's easy to jump right in and I don't need to know any of the other thirteen. I still do play on post-by-post RPGs, usually Harry Potter or unique Fantasy ones. I'm still very much in love with them. Character Ideas/Info I really do not know anything about the races yet! Heck, I don't even know if this game has factions! I decided on a Hyur! I decided he should be a natural curious explorer/adventurer that the world looks so unfamiliar to just for the fact I can get used to the lore. Loving the game thus far! How did you learn about the coalition? Googled RP FFXIV server . What kind of role-player are you aiming to be? Medium of course! I love events, simply love them! The only thing I dislike about events in many games, people are often excluded. I tried to launch RP events in Allods Online, but they never really took off. But, on WoW I loved the Earthen Ring horde events and the ones on Alliance Wyrmrest Accord. Anything from real life you're comfortable with sharing? I'm twenty-four years old and I hail from California (the hot valley 100+ degrees with sandstorms, not the beaches or the forests you hear about). I've lived in New Mexico for a while. I sometimes disappear for medical issues, but I usually crawl back because I'm in love with games. I once had an emergency heart surgery and my WoW guild kicked me out for not being on time when I told them I was having surgery. I woke up days later and they called me a liar and kicked me out. So sense then I've been a roamer. . I always loved RP much more. I have three dogs. A puppy, German Shepherd. A Pomeranian Chihuahua, and a Chinese Pug. I love them all, even though the pomeranian is a little grumpy brat. I used to have a chinchilla!
