  1. Coming back after a year+ hiatus and wanted to do a little updating on my entry. Glad to be back!
  2. Just a quick update: The final IC dungeon run from Nov. 3rd had an interesting turn of events. You'll have to RP to find out what exactly. There will be an RP meeting Nov. 5 early enough in the evening to give people a chance to get involved. Exact location and time are yet to be determined (maybe FS?). There may also be a follow up session on Friday if enough people are on and want to participate. Lament has announced that Sunday, Nov. 10th, there will be another IC dungeon run. As previously stated, we're trying to get these going a little earlier now to make sure people can participate and not feel rushed, starting at either 7 or 8PM EST. No dungeon location has been announced yet. As always, all are welcome to these events. Drop a line with any questions.
  3. As I type this, the third IC run of the night is on going! Tam-Tara Deepcroft was the chosen dungeon so that a wider range of levels could come on out. A big thank you to everyone who participated to make this yet another successful event, and to Lament for once again putting it all together. We're continuing on with the story started during our last IC runs. We're always looking for newcomers; several people joined in as of tonight and had a blast! Before this, however, a meeting occurred at the Lichyard in Thanalan in order to further the story line. Details - The Lichyard was checked in order to see if any new graves were popping up that may coincide with the crossed off names on the list. - During another dream sequence, one of the group members, U'deala, died in battle and could not be reached after everyone had awaken, creating further proof that if you die in the dream, you die for real. - The record keeper at the church "revealed" that nothing out of the ordinary was found. - There didn't seem to be a link between many of the people pulled into the dream; it appears they show up at random. - There are still no clues as to who is doing this or why. No one can tell if there are numerous forces at work, or simply one, though it's suspected there is only one controlling the dreams. - Several who were pulled into the dream state shared their experiences there, commenting on how "wrong" things felt (ex.: they did things that were unlike their normal personalities, there was an oppressive darkness/fog, creatures and monsters varied based on the viewer, etc.) - The group who met up at the graveyard have decided to check the Forgotten Springs for information on U'deala, the best lead they have now, but it will take "several days" for everyone to get there. The RP session for Forgotten Springs has yet to be scheduled; more info to come! More IC dungeons will also be scheduled, now at earlier times for people's convenience. Due to their nature, people can join these dungeon runs at any point during the story to start getting involved, so if you've missed everything up until now, it's not too late to get in on all of this! You don't even have to know anyone IC to be included. RPers outside the LS/FC are also more than welcome. If you want to get involved and have questions, contact Lament through a PM here or on one of her characters in game. Myself and others in Wings can also be reached by the same methods as well. Until next time.... sweet dreams.
  4. I second the idea of this occurring less often, as much as I love RP events. There's a concern people may be getting burned out on these; the numbers last night were small, though to be fair, I'm sure a good amount of people were off at Halloween parties and such. (I understand there may have even been one in game, which could draw numbers away.) I'd recommend (and I'm awesome, so my opinion matters!) going to one day a week, and if numbers pick back up again, maybe go back to two? Regardless, I'll go however often it's held assuming I can make it.
  5. I have a hard time with this mainly because I am terrified of being seen as annoying or irritating. And folks will tell me that it's okaay, they don't mind, etc. but I just can't. ~___~ Personal anxiety issues are really hard to break, yo. I have the same exact issue. As much as I'd love to continually RP out a storyline with people, I find it a bit hard to initiate it. (To be fair, my character also has difficulty starting up conversations.)
  6. Always interested in RPing with new people; drop me a line some time. I tend to be on between 6-11PM EST.
  7. Great fun! My character is also pretty anti-social, but don't mistake that for my being bored. Thanks to all those who put it together.
  8. I've always loved RPing while in a dungeon group in other games. Great fun! I'm in, if it happens.
  9. Interested in going to this, but I'm still not knowledgeable on all the location names. What city is The Coffer and Coffin in again?
  10. I. Basic Info Characters: Risheid Millen, Wyrek Emberdawn, Turev'ir Majaal Primary character: Risheid Millen Linkshells: None Primary RP linkshell: None II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): I'm looking for mid to heavy RP, either mostly IC with a touch of OOC, or complete immersion. Views on RP combat and injuries: I'll take hits, but I need to dish them out, too. Not every punch needs to kill, likewise, it shouldn't have zero effect at all. Anything too crippling, on either side of the fight, should be checked with first. Views on IC romance: So long as it doesn't become the ONLY aspect of the RP, and if it fits with both characters' personalities. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Absolutely! But again, check before hand. Anything that could add to the a deeper story. Views on lore: This is the backbone of the kind of RP I prefer. I've been gone for over a year, so I'm a bit rusty on my Eorzean lore, but the best way to brush up is to dive right in. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I came back to a dead LS, so I'm looking for a new one. I try to stay to only one or two so I don't miss too much. Completely open to RP or OOC ones, so long as each are separated from the other. Emotes are fine, but sometimes, they get a bit difficult to keep track of, especially when they drag on. Above all, be mindful of what you say where. If you would do something privately or in secret in real life, use a chat function that reflects that for similar things in game. III. Other Info Country: United States Timezone: Eastern Contact info: Please message me here anytime or in game.
  11. Thanks for the speedy reply, Olofantur. This answered all of my questions and more. Looks like I have a transfer to put in place.
  12. Hello, all. I just found out this place existed yesterday, but I'm glad I found it! Started playing a month ago with a friend on Cactuar, but he's since stopped playing and I've been missing some good ol' role play for some time, of which said server is severely lacking. Anyroad, now that server transfers are available, I wanted to get some opinions from the established role playing community here. Firstly, is it worth it to leave, in your opinion? What I mean by this is, is there actually a large amount of people role playing on the two chosen servers, or is it few and far afield? I don't want to end up switching, only to find more of the same boredom as my old server, you know? Second, is the legacy aspect of Balmung a factor in any manner? I'm leaning on going there over Gilgamesh since it seems to be the primary spot for role players, based on what little I've read, but I don't want too much of a change from what I'm used to. Any input would be incredible valuable and welcome. I can't wait to get back into this aspect of the game once again. Thanks all, Risheid Millen
