Alright, I've finished going down the crazy idea train and thinking maybe it would be simpler to try this idea. My Au Ra came to Eorzea BEFORE the rebellion in Doma due to she was found by an Ul'dahn or Limsa Lominsa merchant/pirate who finds her and raises her as his own. She is beloved by the people who knows the Lightdragon family. (Her name is Serena Lightdragon, so non-au ra naming as she wasn't raised by an Au Ra Raen Tribe). Her father, Raven Lightdragon, is a well-respected and rich merchant by the time Serena is 20. As Serena grows up she shows talent for the Arcanima and enrolls in the guild. The citizens of Limsa see her walking around with her emerald carbuncle, Windsong. Her best friend, Michael Lightheart, is 2 years older than her but is quite protective of her. He is a trained swordsman but he's also trained in the art of conjury. He's a well-traveled and well-educated. He is soft spoken and quiet. I'm playing with the idea that she is asked to find the elemental horses/ponies as part of her training as a Summoner and with the power of the elements to take down the Garlean Empire. (Instead of hunting for crystals it's the horses of elements who give her strength) I'm drawing inspiration from the game, Atelier Iris 2: The Azoth of Destiny. The female lead has to go and make pacts with the mana of elements to be able to learn alchemy and help her best friend who is in a different land, but Serena's learning her magic through her trials/pacts. Please don't bash this idea, I am really interested in following this thought, she's a summoner but not summoner as she doesn't summon the Egis but the horses. I would use their offical names, Enbarr, Xanthos, etc. What do you think?

With Eorzea or the FFXIV world is so large that there could be say a hyur/dragon child out there! We don't have an encyclopedia and it is so hard to come up with a story to try and stick to as the lore is so widespread and not a lot on the races. (I might be struggling because I'm not a 1.0 player, I started at the 2.0 launch) I've got an idea I want to pursue and I'm working on the beginning in my head. I love dragons and the Au Ra are the perfect race for me to follow this idea. I am happy that I've got an idea that I feel excited to write as I realized I needed to write for my own enjoyment, if I post it, I know not everyone is not going to agree but I will still be loyal to the game and lore. I was so happy to have the first expansion be focused on dragons and we get a particular minion later in the MSQ before the expansion to journey with us. I REALLY REALLY wish that the SMN gets a Leviathan-Egi as I love that summons as it is like a dragon, but more water based.

I'm contemplating getting the soundtrack but I don't know if I want to go the Itunes route or buy the actual CD, there is one small problem and it is the same problem as my blu-ray FFX HD Remastered CD, I can't put the music on my computer as I don't have a blu-ray drive. I can't move from the PS3 to the computer so would it be best I buy the album off of itunes? The one on Itunes say it is partial but it says it has 119 like the one on the official site. What do you guys think? Help! Help!

What about when Dragons and Elezen lived in harmony? I got to thinking about it today and wondered in that 1000 year span did any elezen/dragons ever have children? I think from the MSQ dealing with the Inquisitor in Coerthas that he was a dragon in disguise so could that have been possible? I would love to learn more about the dragons' lore as they are one of my favorite mythological creatures and I don't always see them as the bad guys as we know that there are good dragons out there too!

Need information on my Raen, where can I look up tribes and lore. I can't find much on them. Xaela seems to be the popular race for RP. I've read there are Xaela Tribes but I can't find any sites. I've read a little of the official Au Ra lore page. Thank you guys!

The reason is that my first character (she is my oldest and first character) is at Idyllshire and is making her way to 60. I want to somehow connect them and so far it is the best I've got so far. I wish I knew more about the Au Ra or lore of FFXIV. I didn't play XIV 1.0, I started in 2.0. I have been looking at the Lore section. I really want to make a good story/RP but I don't know the 1.0 storyline. I've seen the different opening cinematics for 1.0 but nothing else.

Is time travel possible? I had an idea but I'm not sure if it is even allowed. >< I'm having so many ideas but I think I'm getting something. The Sailor Moon connection is still a suggestion but I'm trying to go another route. A chance encounter sends my main character back 2 years to the beginning of the FFXIV MSQ. She meets my original character who is her idol (like Sailor Moon's idol is Sailor V/Venus and she gets to meet her and be her best friend ) but in her future, her idol is missing and there are only stories of her legacy. What do you guys think? It intrigues me and would love to carry it through. *Raises Flame Shield* Ok, I'm ready. Let me know your thought.

There's a section here dedicated to just writing per-post. I don't know if crossovers will work too well in the face of game canon, but there's a spot for just writing. Where is the spot for writing? I've looked and I've not found it. I've seen posts for RP and character development but not actual writing. Please direct me to said posts!:love:

I've always been told write what you want to write and what you know. I've put the alt character to the side till I figure out what I wish to do with her and I'm just going to focus on my main from now on. The crossover idea will be like a normal fanfiction just from the point of view of the main character of chosen anime. The alt will be included along with any other characters I've made in my time on this game. heehee. I want to start writing and I think this is the best route to go as all other ways I've tried haven't gone anywhere. Thank you everyone who has read and replied. :love:

I am sad to say I don't RP on the server I'm on. I spend my time online talking with my FC members, doing the HW MSQ and roulettes or working on Althena. I fully intended to write a fanfiction about FFXIV and the characters I created but writer's block is in full force. I'm going back to what I know and that is doing anime fanfiction/crossover fanfiction. I've recently got inspired and hopefully I can get a story going but I don't want to jinx it. My plan when I remade her (deleted her once before) was to level the caster classes on her as my main focus but lately I got inspired to make Althena based off Sailor Saturn, she is a character that wields a glaive as her weapon of choice, but when I made her I fell in love with her appearance, she is the prettiest character I've made. I love Sailormoon/Sailor Moon Crystal and it was the show that started my love of anime and fanfiction writing.

Hey guys! Alright, I don't know if you all have this problem but I'm sort of in a slight character pickle and I need help!:?:cry: I've got two characters now as you both know. My main, Serenity Lightdragon, and my alt, Althena Lightdragon. I've been playing my main lately and I keep thinking of Althena, who is a level 26 THM, 13 WVR and 13 GSM. I love her, I really do, but I'm thinking of all I've gotta do to get her on the same level as Serenity. Serenity is another story. She still has a lot of work to have done and I love her just as much. Both look the same except one has blonde hair (My Sailor Moon Tribute) and the other has lavender hair, both have the exact same hairstyle and the same race. Althena is the alt that I'm leveling to learn the game's story again. My question, how do you play multiple characters or if you did once have multiple characters, how did you decide to go down to one?? Or am I thinking too hard? (Not sure if this goes here, but thanks for reading!)

Hello my friends! I'm considering on transferring my alt to Balmung! I think it is about time I return home for a little while. I've got my main situated in a nice FC but my alt who is a level 19 THM/13 GSM/8 WVR, I'm wanting to get some RP experience again under my belt and since I'm still trying to write my fanfiction I think coming back to the server that started it all will be a good move. Let's get some introductions started! Meet: Althena Aurora Serenity Lightdragon Isn't she gorgeous? I fell in love right after I made her. I felt compelled to play her! The most I know about her just from playing is that she is a really sweet and kind character. She loves nature and rather enjoys visiting Gridania when not being called to help in Ul'dah. Ok, got off topic! LOL. I was wondering if there are any FCs who might want to take me in? I've not RPed in a LONG TIME and rather nervous about starting as I'm not as sure of the lore and I am scared of saying something that might be wrong. >< I would love a FC who is helpful not only with dungeons/quests/raiding but with the game's lore. PLUS being social would be nice too! I live in the CST and I'm on pretty much all the time but during the week I work. Full time department head at Hobby Lobby. I can't wait to read what everyone suggests and hopefully be on the server soon.

Ok, I really like what I got and I hope you all think this is a good change. -I upgraded my 19 inch monitor to a 27 inch 1920x1080 Full HD Acer monitor (FFXIV looks even more gorgeous now) -I'm upgrading my graphics card from a Geforce GTX 550 TI to a EGVA Geforce GTX 970 (it has 4GB GDDR5, ACX 2.0 (Active Cooling Xtreme) +140 MHz GPU Clock) and replacing my 400w power supply to a 500w one. My CPU is the same which is an AMD Athlon II X3 450 Processor. All of this is foreign lingo to me and I would love to learn what it all means, but I've been told my new video card is considered beefy or beasty. So what do you think?

I wish I could build a desktop but I've not a clue where to start or what parts to get. The desktop I'm playing on now is a built one but I didn't build it, my brother-in-law did as a Christmas present to me 2 years ago. I've decided to go and buy a new video card instead of buying a whole new computer like you all suggested. I'm clueless on what to get as I don't know computers that well. Want something that can play FFXIV at max settings and not lag at all. I've already experienced twice lag in cutscenes and I don't like it at all.

Guys, I'm not sure if this goes here but I thought I would post here and ask. I need some advice on a laptop/desktop to get. I want to give my desktop I've got to my dad as his desktop is 5 to 6 years old and it's acting slow and it's freezing up. I want to get a desktop that is powerful enough to handle FFXIV with ease. I love writing, watching movies/music on the computer. I do want a laptop to but I don't know if it can last just as long as a desktop does. I run the computers hard (everyday I play. Either in the morning or in the evening.) I will look at either but I know I can order one online but I prefer to pick one up at the store. My max spending is $2500. What would you recommend? I would really appreciate the help. I'm not in a rush and if you have anymore questions, post away. Thank you!

Hey guys! Quick RP question. One of my main characters is a paladin and I was wondering how long is it plausible or believable for him to leave his best friend and then return after his training is complete? I'm thinking of maybe having him and his best friend separate when they are children and then coming back like 20 years later or is that too much time to pass? I'm not familiar with the melee lore and I might just level it to learn more but I wanted to get some opinions from expert gladiators/paladins here first.

Awww. Why is this amazing feat starting to go down after I post!:cry: No no, not good! Did anyone else see the races? What did you think!? I honestly thought I would never see another Triple Crown happen and thought it couldn't be done. I missed watching the Kentucky Derby and Preakness but I did see the Belmont. When I watched, I got the sense of deja vu as I watched Pharoah pulling away from the pack. I've been researching the Triple Crown since 1997 and I know about all 11 horses who had won and seen many clips of each of their races. The feeling felt so much like seeing Secretariat run his race in 1973. I know Pharoah didn't win by the margin that Secretariat did but it looked like he could of gotten a bigger lead if he had more time to run.

thank you for the ideas on both horse breeder, chocobo breeder, and the summoner topics. I started to think about how one poster mentioned that they were bought from the Far East, maybe the rich who bought these horses started to have them bred after so much service in the GC and that is how Serena becomes a trainer/breeder. The summoner idea just comes from thinking of FFX and of the thunder summon, Ixion, who was a thunder unicorn. I apologize for using the word egis as I was just trying to use a word that was associated with the arcanist/summoner class. I wouldn't think of them as egis but of some sort different type of summoning. What I've gathered so far from playing is that arcanist/summoners/scholars are very interested in learning on how to do battle or work with the elements they command. (Fire, Wind, and Earth) I just thought for fun to make Serena different is to have them come in a different shape. I wish these were RP ideas but they are more writing ideas as I'm not on a server that isn't RP oriented. I needed an outlet to be able to see my character grow from the adventure she is doing in-game, so I'm doing my own fanfiction for FFXIV. I've been working on this story for months (Since I came back in Feb.) and keep having each beginning I come up with change and can't seem to keep one idea down for long. It is a pain and wish I knew of a way to stop my brain from changing direction every few days. T.T

Hi guys! I would like to run something by you and wanted to see if it is possible for this sort of profession to exist in the game or world of FFXIV. For my story, I didn't want my main to just be an ordinary botanist/carpenter/etc, but a horse breeder/racer/trainer. I know we have horse mounts (regular ones, not the elemental versions) that are obtainable from doing PvP wins achievement for each GC. Horses/horseracing has been a passion of mine for a lot longer than anime/gaming and I wondered maybe the reason I'm struggling in my writing is that I'm not starting with something I know. So the question is, is it POSSIBLE for my main, Serena Jackson, to be a horse breeder/racer/trainer in the world of Eorzea? She could be the one that all the commanders of the GC's come to to have her train their horses for combat in the PvP areas or for inexperience horse riders who are used to chocobos and not horses to learn how to ride one? Another IDEA, that I am playing with is that maybe the elemental horses (I plan to get at least the water/fire ones) could be summons like the egis in the game. They are part of the Primals too, if I am reading the descriptions correctly. I really like the idea and I honestly think it will work. What do you all think?! Thanks again!:chocobo:

If they say it is alright, his character will stay, but if they say no then I'll know what to do. Thank you everyone!

Hi guys! I'm in a bind and not really sure on what to do. My 9 year old nephew has seen me playing FFXIV and he asked if he could make his own character and play it when he visits (which isn't very often now). I asked his mom if it was alright and she said it was, the last time he was here he begged me to not delete his level 5 elezen warrior (took him an hour to get to that level) until he talked to his dad and try to get him to try the game. Fast forward to 2 nights ago, his dad came over to help me with some car trouble, I asked him if he was going to try FFXIV and get himself and his son an account. Now, here is where it puts me in a bind (or feels like it.) He said that he's looked at the game but he wants to wait till my nephew gets older (he specifically said 17 years old) and he kind of insulted me by saying FF is only played by girls. (I'm a female, but I've talked to PLENTY of men on this game and I know that FF is for everyone). Now, I don't know if I should keep his character now that I know his father (my brother-in-law) isn't comfortable with his son playing the MMO (they play World of Warcraft/Warhammer the most). I'm stuck with a decision to make and I've got a few choices.... -Should I go ahead and delete him? -Should I transfer his character to my server and play him? (I've already have 2 characters already. Level 50 WHM and an alt to learn the game's story again). -If I bring the character over, should I just race/name change him? I've not had this problem before and really need some advice. Thank you everyone. I love you all and grateful I can share ideas and opinions of the game freely here.
