Hey guys! We are only a month away from the expansion! EEK! So excited! This shall be my first expansion for the FF series and wondered what are my fellow RPers/players doing to get themselves ready. I've completed the entire storyline but confused on weather I should continue my relic or just focus on raising gil or maybe making an alt to play for the time being? Some pointers would be awesome and maybe knowing what you all are doing I can plan too!

....how does your character get them? I've got some recent inspiration from the anime classic (well, its remake) Sailor Moon and I thought maybe Serena's healing powers could be awakened in her by the assistance of an animal familiar. I like the idea of the unicorn being the one who awakens her powers when it saves and heals her, in doing so it awakens her healing powers and THEN have something bad happen to where her emotions cause the healing powers to fully become accessible and she saves someone important. (Friend/Lover/Mentor). She was born with her powers but only the Earth/Wind/Water abilities are what she can channel but healing is something that eluded her. Is that possible? I tried to find more lore about the unicorn and WHMs but I couldn't find much except they are from Coerthas and that they were poached to near extinction. I've been taken what many of you suggested by getting ideas from things I read/watch/listen/play. I've gotten many ideas just can't pinpoint just one. hehe. How does your character get their powers? Are they born with them, or did something like an event trigger them to activate suddenly? I am enjoying reading everyone's thoughts and ideas here on the forum and glad I decided to stop lurking and join in the fun! :lol:

Hey guys, I have some questions about story/RP/writing. I've read so many ideas and I was wondering how do you come up with them? I need some direction as I used to be able to do it myself but now I can't seem to come up with original ideas of my own. I've got two characters I adore and I want to write more about them. Help this fellow Rper/Writer out, please?

I've seen there are some threads dedicated to couples and for screenshots but not really any dedicated to the character themselves. I've been lurking here for a while now and I've read several of the forum topics and it got me thinking that wouldn't be fun to have one topic where people can show off their characters? I'll go first! Meet Serena Lightheart (Currently Tsubasa Lightheart, I was going to make her a lalafel but after being one for about an hour, I realized that I just couldn't handle the camera angle at all. Kept getting motion sickness) Serena is a 27 year old young woman who lives in Gridania and has trained in the art of conjury but has taken interest in the art of summoning. She is a kind and gentle young woman who only wants to see the world she lives in safe for the ones she loves. In-game: Currently single (but in my fanfiction, she is the wife of Michael Lightheart, a paladin character based off Michael Jackson of the BAD album era/Ryo of the Wildfire of Ronin Warriors)

I play on Balmung and I found a nice guild and I really don't want to up and move, but the character restrictions will not let up. Anyone have a FC who wouldn't mind welcoming a new character to their home? I've been playing for about a week and I've got my rotation for both attacking/healing down on my 50. ^^

Yeah, writing stories. I've got a paragraph written on my ipad and a few ideas written on paper. A few of my brainstorms are still in my head and take place in early levels, like during the first fight with Ifrit or during the beginning quests to bring the two leads together. I've wanted to RP but not sure how to go about it and many of my ideas are more the written form than actual RP.

Hi everyone! Yunas here. Got a question but I'm not sure if this goes here or not but I wanted to ask about fanfiction. I've written several on anime but none of the MMO type. I've got two characters in mind and a little written on but I'm a little stuck. My main character is a level 50 WHM but I've not played her in 2 years (came back a week ago.) but I've forgotten the story before all then. I've gotten several little brainstorms while playing my 50 but to maybe get a cohesive idea going, do you think making a new character and leveling from 1-50 again might help make more ideas start or should I just stick with the 50? I know I can watch the CS in the INN but after doing the random duty:scenarios that it is just not the same. What do you all think? Also, do you think the writing will help with maybe with roleplay too? Thank you!

Hey guys, thank you for the suggestions. I've been checking at every possible chance to hopefully get Serena Lyon made on Balmung/Gilgamesh. (Both are still locked), so far no luck. I don't know if I'll be able to check tomorrow after the maintenance. I can't stay up till 4am as I've got to work. :cry: What other servers do you play on that might be a good secondary for a returning player? I know I don't want to play alone (did a lot of that in Wow and I really didn't enjoy it that much) would like an FC who is nice, considerate, respectful, helpful (be able to help me get back into the swing of things easily.) Who wouldn't mind someone asking a lot of questions. Just all around fun group of people who can make my short time on the game during the week enjoyable. Hope to hear more soon!

Hello fellow RPers! Yunas here. I've just returned to FFXIV and I've been away for TWO YEARS. :surprise: I am looking to start over but no idea on what the RP servers are or what could be a good server I can start fresh on. I play on Balmung but I can't seem to make a new character with the character restrictions in place. Does anyone have any suggestions for this returning player? I live in TX so a server in the U.S or CST would be good. I do love to write but RPing I've not experienced yet in FF. (I've got plenty in World of Warcraft) I already have a character in mind that I want to start writing a story for but would love to get some RP included to maybe have some allies/friends to help enjoy the journey. I do have a level 50 WHM that I've been playing for the last 3 days and I've remembered both my attack/healing rotations, but the problem is that I feel disconnected to the storyline. I know I could watch the cutscenes in the INN as I was suggested but it wouldn't feel the same. :cry: I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hello fellow RPers! I'm not sure if a topic has been made of this but I am so curious! I'm wanting to make an RP character who I can level 1-50 and who can help get my writer's side to kick in again. (I'm also working on a FFXIII/FFX crossover fanfiction, taking it slow and not rushing it.) I'm trying to come up with a story but also not sticking with the game's story. I used to be so good at making different stories but I've gotten rusty and need a push! So, my fellow RPers, how did you come up with your characters and their back story? Did you create them before you made them in the game or did they come to you as you created them or played them? I made a topic earlier asking about a back story but I think I was so clueless that I just put the basics and might have confused everyone. lol! Thank you and can't wait to hear from you all! :lol:

I'm not a player of 1.0 but a 2.0 one. The idea I have is that 3 friends leave their tiny village to train in Gridania and Ul'dah. A Conjurer and lancer and a swordsman. They meet a year or few years later. I know from what my friends tell me that between 1.0 and 2.0 is 5 years. I don't want to mess up the lore. Exactly, how many years lore-wise for my idea to work? Any advice would be amazing! Thank you so much! I'm so happy to be here and I hope to make many friends!

Thank you, Kaaran! ^^ Now, I have a part 2 to the question! I have two toons I want to combine into one as both are Conjurers, one is 50 and the other is level 16. Didn't think I would like my alt more than my main and I'm thinking of using a Fantasia on her. My problem is that is it possible in the 5 to 6 year span to have a lalafell turn into a hyur or use the lalafell as the child form of hyur RP toon? I had the crazy idea that one year before the calamity, Tsubasa Lightheart (Lalafell 50) was training with Master E-Sumi-Yan but when Louisiox teleported all the inhabitants to safety could that short time transform her into a 20 year old hyur who can talk with the wind and earth spirits and even summon them? Does my problem make sense at all? >< I struggled last night to post this without it being confusing. hehe

Hello! Name's Victoria but you can call me Tori for short! I've been lurking on here for a few months and I thought it was about time I made an account and see what I could learn. I have a quick question regarding the lore and since I want to keep the backstory I'm working on true to the game, I thought I would ask you guys. My question is, how long is it really between 1.0 and ARR? I'm not a player from 1.0 but from ARR and I have an idea but I want to be sure I'm not going to be messing the lore up if I decide to post for all to read. Thank you again! P.S.
