1. Stupid faulty Java script coding... I mean...I would never use teh uber leet hacks! lol Seriously I was laughing at it and how ridiculous it was getting. Leave Askier's other eye alone! He's already sporting one eye patch now! O suuuureee, blame the guy responsible for organizing the whole thing..real mature! lol
2. EPISODE 3 RECAP WHEW, WHAT a night! SHORT VERSION: SPIES RECOVERED TWO PARTS MAKING THEM THE WINNERS. Next week's event will be a game of: "Lets find the bomb in Uldah". LOOOONNNGGG VERSION: For the heroes, things didn't look good. Only two heroes answered thecall to arms...at first! My, oh my, things took some interesting turns last night. Askier and his spies all met at the Coffer and Coffin and divided into two teamsof three. Team one, under command of Delial Grimsong and consisting of Kanaria and S'honji, headed to The Silver Bazaar for package number one, where they encountered the two heroes but let the heroes retreat without conflict and recovered the package. How letting the heroes go was a mistake! Meanwhile, Askier's group went to Crescent Cove and recovered the item there. Once in possession of his item, Askier went to kidnap Erik Mynhier's sister, Siha, who he had tricked into coming along with him by acting as a friendly and charming merchant, (Siha's words here! lol) but then the unexpected happened! Askier's other agent, Grieving Hound, betrayed Askier, just at Kahna and the other hero (whose name I will get the correct spelling from Kahna) arrived. Askier, suddenly outnumbered 4 to 1, tore off his armor and swam for it. But the night was not over though! Askier, wet and half-naked, rendezvoused back in Ul’dah with Delial’s team where they secured the two items and then proceeded to location number 3, the graveyard near Camp Drybone! But Kahna’s team was already there and it had grown in size now! Frustrated at Hound’s betrayal, his inability to secure item number 3, and his need to kidnap Siha, Askier and company fought, but not before there was a classic, western standoff! S’honji went down early in the fight but Delial held her own for a long time against numerous opponents. Askier went against Hound for a while before Osric jumped in and Askier beat him down before Hound beat Askier down and forced Askier to use a smoke bomb and flee, rescuing the downed Delial before he went. Through it all, Kanarai never suffered a single wound and looked all dainty on her unicorn as the spies escaped. But Askier has two of the three items. Enough to finish his magitek bomb. The device has been worked on all night and now hums with magical energy. It will take one week (conveniently lol) to gather the power it needs to level the city. Next week’s event will take place in U’dah at 8pm. I hope everyone can make it for the finale. This has been a ton of fun and a few shout outs are in order! First, to Kahna and the other hero (whose name I can’t remember how to spellnow that I slept for 7 hours but will add as soon as I get it!) for being brave enough to ride out even though it was only the two of them at first! And then for Jana, Daphine and Osric for joining the party at the graveyard! Second, to Hound and Siha. Hound, your betrayal made this whole event completely different and was perfectly timed! As for you, Siha,… you got lucky…lol Third, for Delial, Kanarai, and S’honji for helping me out last night and recovering item number 1 for Askier. This event would not have worked without everyone and thank you all so much! It has been a delight and an honor to run this event the past two weeks and I am thrilled I’ve gotten to meet so many new people through it! I can’t wait till part 3! Also, note, I will be on sporadically over the next few days since I am out of town attending a wedding this weekend. But Askier not being seen much kind of works since he’s baby sitting his bomb! Lol Oh, if anyone has any screen shots or comments about last night, post ‘em! Lol
3. Episode 3 Episode 3 will takeplace tomorrow, May 1st, at 8 pm CDT. The spies will meetat the Coffer and Coffin by 8. Theheroes will meet in Ul’dah (location incoming). Askier will send the spies to the three locations to retrieve theparts. Once the spies are at all three, I will send a tell to the heroes telling themto go. The heroes will then have tenreal world minutes to get their characters to where they believe the parts to be. If the heroes arriveat the correct locations in time, the spies have a choice, they can either fight the heroes for the items, where the winners walk away with the item, or the agents can drop the items and simply run, allowing the heroes to retrieve it. If the heroes do notarrive in time, the spies at the location leave with the item and take it back to Ul’dah before going to help their fellow agents who might be in combat. Remember, this evenis dynamic and will change the flow of the entire event. If the heroes obtain 2 items, next week’sevent will involve the spies trying to evade the heroes and head north. If the spies possess2 items, next week’s event will involve the heroes trying to stop the bomb and find it. Combat will be thestandard rules and I will have a dice roll room on rolz.org again called “Sage of the Winds” for everyone tojoin. If you have any trouble joiningit, just grab a normal dice and start rolling. Lol. Hope everyone isexcited. I have had a ton of fun rping all the special events over the past week and am eager to see everyone again tomorrow!
4. I really should stop talking in movies. . . My sentence in hell aside though , You all feel like they're fair? Was a little worried I might have made them too vague. Just wanted to make you heroes all work for that possible early win. Lol
5. Hey Faye! Also, myself and some others on Balmung are running a episodic Garlean event and is a good chance for you to meet some fellow Garlean agents in an attempt to bring down Ul'dah. We have already had the first episode but there is plenty of time to join in before next Wednesday's episode. Feel free to check the link below. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=6892
6. 4/23/14 - The event this evening was a success. First off, I would like to extend my deepest condolences to Erik, who was unable to attend due to a death in the family. All our best to you. Secondly, in Erik's absence, a thank you is in order for Kahn'a Od'hilkas for stepping in and leading the heroes at the last minute and doing an excellent job considering how little time he had to prepare and how much info I threw his way. Third, combat seemed to flow smoothly and I want to thank Jana for the wonderful advice about Rolz.org So what happened? Well, in summary, Askier's package arrived ahead of schedule and was hidden without Askier's knowledge, wasting valuable time. Only moments before our heroes entered Vesper Bay, Askier received a linkshell message from his agent telling him the package was already there. Without the package in hand, Askier had to suddenly face down the heroes as they present him with a damning document. At first our villain tried to deny the heroes' claims, but constant, and rather clever verbal assaults by the heroes stressed him and he made a break for the package, his allies holding back the heroes long enough for Askier to retrieve the package and decode the riddles. Unfortunately, his almost clean escape was stopped and he was badly injured. He was saved at the last moment when his chocobo rushed in and dragged him to safety. Askier now hides, nursing his injuries and wounded pride as the heroes must now uncover the secrets of the new message Askier dropped after the got the snot kicked out of him (Seriously, he took an arrow through the foot and a book to the eyeball. Does that sound like a good time? lol) The heroes, meanwhile have sworn to stop Askier and are working to decipher the riddles. So where are the riddles? HERE IS THE DOCUMENT ASKIER DROPPED Askier, I'm bring in the shipments one week from today, same time. I'm bring one, two of my agents are brining in the others. As normal, the riddles hold the key in case this letter is intercepted. Ha, like that will happen. Anyway, I'll see you next week hopefully. -Rynsur Part 1 On the coast near the sea, There are buildings tall and free, Standing wooden in the sun, By the ferry, boxed for fun. Part 2 Close at hand shall this one be, In a box, on the dock, by the sea On a mound of silver does it stand, The shouting place loud with demand. Part 3 Not by sea, but in the earth it lies, Dug, not shipped, for death to provide, All round, no one stood, Dry ground is no good. So what now? Now the heroes have a week to crack the code and prepare for Episode 3, the rules of which will be forthcoming. I want to thank everyon who participated tonight. I felt it went well and was a ton of fun.
7. 4/23/14 - Alright all, tonight is Episode 2. We will be starting at 8pm CDT. The heroes will meet outside of the gate to Vesper bay. Erik may not be able to join us tonight due to RL obligations, so if he is not on, look for Kahn'a Od'hilkas by the gate. If Erik does not get on, Kahn'a will be helping orchestrate the hero side since Kahn'a is in service to Erik IC. Spies will meet Askier inside the town and will be milling around until the heroes enter dramatically and we will run with it from there. I hope this is an enjoyable event tonight and sets us up for more fun next week. The letter Erik intercepted that is proof against Askier is as follows: Askier, You have done well thus far and you prior report was encouraging, though this will be our final directive. You are to proceed to Vesper Bay and recover the package Rynsur leaves there and then decode the riddle detailing the arrival locations of the final three parts for the device and use them to complete Ul’dah’s destruction. There will be no acceptance of failure. Either you complete your assignment and return a hero or your life, and that of your sister, is forfeit. We will have eyes watching you.
8. - 4/20/14 - Episode 2 will begin at 8pm CDT March 23rd. The spies will meet directly inside the city of Vesper Bay while the heroes will congregate outside and move in when they are ready to confront our spies with a letter Erik Mynheir has received, which will be posted on Wednesday for all to see, that implicates the spies. I hope everyone has a good time and am looking forward so seeing everyone!
9. Getting a good group going here, and finally another spy! Not so one sided now! Lol. Want to thank everyone for the interest in this so far and am really looking forward to this. Note, if you are unable to meet Erik or Askier prior to the date and still want to participate, you are still more than welcome to join in. We'll just say you're a last minute recruit or an agent sent to help out by higher orders.
10. This website is perfect! Thank you for the info. I'll be sure to set up a dice room then for the event!
11. The event was amazing and I want to thank everyone who organized this for the wonderful time. =D

14. "A song I sing, of the desert Jewel, Ul'dah, the city, home to no fool, She reigns mighty in the desert lands, What force could oppose the Jewel of the sands?" Saga of the Wind Swept Sands http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130623151657/finalfantasy/images/2/2e/Uldah_ARR_01.jpg[/img] “Saga of the Wind Swept Sands” is a joint, community based episodic rp event (Could that title get any longer?) being run my myself and Erik Mynhier on Balmung. The story will involve a band of heroes attempting to stop a group of Imperial spies from destroying the city of Ul'dah. Our hope with this event is to bring to community together and have some fun and, hopefully, make a story we all can remember fondly. Okay, you have my attention. So how does this all work? We are breaking this rp event into weekly mini-events to make it more manageable for everyone and to try to accommodate as many people who want to join in. My plan is that each episode will take roughly one to two hours so people can fit it into their busy schedules. Each week, everyone will log in at a set place and we will run the story from there. These will take place on Wednesday nights starting at 8pm CST. There will be two sides. The heroes and the spies. If you are interested in joining either group, post below or send Erik or I a message on these forums. All races are welcome for either faction. Once we have the set amount of players, we will give a set date for the first event. At the moment, Erik and I are planning to start this event AFTER the ball Erik his hosting in Ul’dah tonight, which will be a perfect place to relax, meet other people and have a good time. Anyone wishing to join the spies, tonight would be a perfect time to meet Askier IC and reveal you serve the Garlean Empire as well. If you are unable to attend the ball, there will be plenty of time to meet either Erik or Askier before the first episode. There are five planned stages for this event. (Warning Spoilers ahead.) Stage 1 is registration and a meet and greet. This will take place at the ball and with side rps occurring between the ball and the first event's start date. Stage 2: Erik will receive an in-game letter that is supposed to be for the Garlean head agent, Askier. Erik will gather the hero participants and go to confront the spies with the direct evidence. At the confrontation, the Garlean agents will escape, but not before the Erik takes possession of a certain document Askier leaves behind detailing information about the arrival of the last three parts of the magitec bomb and when they will be arriving. Stage 3: The race. The three bomb parts all arrive on the same day at three places. These three locations will be described with a short riddle for each. The heroes will have a set amount of time to decipher the riddles and then get their characters to the locations. The heroes will need to split up to find the devices in time. If the heroes arrive at each location before the time runs out AND there are more heroes than spies, the heroes seize the part. If either the heroes fail to arrive in time, OR if there are more spies than heroes, the spies take the part. At the end of Stage 3, the side with two parts wins, leading to either: A) The spies take the parts to Ul'Dah and set up the bomb. B) The spies are forced to flee, their plan in ruins Stage 4 then becomes either: A) If the spies have more parts, a race against time to defuse the bomb as the spies defend the bomb ferociously. B) If the heroes have more parts, they must hunt down and capture the fleeing agents who will be taking various roads north. Stage 5 The heroes will interrogate the agents they capture and then dish out their punishments accordingly. It is very possible some agents will escape capture and might attempt to free their brethren. That was a lot of text. So about dem Rules: 1) IC knowledge does not equal OOC knowledge. For this role-play it is imperative that you don't use OOC information. I don't think this will be a problem though. 2) Please note that the Garlean characters are people's characters and we ask that they not be killed unless permitted by the player in (OOC) 3) Combat: There will be fighting in this. Rules are below. 4) Have fun! I want this to be a lot of fun, and there will probably be a few hiccups along the way. I ask that you be understanding and go with the flow. I've never done anything quite like this before and if it goes well enough, I'll try another. =D 5) Registration. Once registered, I will put your name on a list for your chosen side so players can rp together. Please note though that for stage 2, there will be a finite number of entries who can participate directly since it requires some pretty personal role play in a small space, though all can watch. Other than that, there will be no limit the amount of players in this event. 6) We request that any orders Erik or I give during this event either IC or OOC, be obeyed without to much arguing simply for the sake of keeping this thing organized. 7) Garlean agents, please understand that as much as your character doesn’t' want too , they will lose. This event is designed this way intentionally to give everyone a fun story to tell, but heroes win in stories. Plus we can’t actually destroy Ul’dah. Lol. Please note this going forward. Combat: to make combat a smooth action and to remove level gaps from the equation, we will be rping combat. However, to keep things from getting bogged down, we will be using the following rules. 1) Combat will take place as a back-and-forth. One side will go, making their attack (or attacks, if multiple attackers) first. To see if your attack hits, please have a simple, everyday house die with six sides nearby. Combat will be based on dice rolls with Attacker and defender trying to role higher than the other. When attacking, you will post how you want to attack and roll the dice, adding the dice roll to the post: Ex: -Tom rolls his dice and then posts in game : Adin draws his sword and lunges forward, trying to impale his foe with the pointy end. (( rolled 4)) It's important that your post says what you're trying to do, not that you hit, because the defender will roll and then post what happens. Ex: - Ali rolls her dice and gets a five. Since the result is higher, she takes no damage. Ali posts: Meera steps to the side and avoids the attack, grinning. ((Rolled 5)) Now that Tom's attack is resolved, it is Ali's turn to attack. In the likely situation of multiple attackers on one person, all players on one side attack first, each going in order from left to right making an attack and letting the defender defend. Ex: -Tom keeps missing so Fred joins in. Tom is on left so he goes first - Adin attacks ((Rolls 3)) - Ali rolls and posts "Meera dodge." ((5)) - Fred rolls and posts - Torin attacks with an axe swing. ((6)) - Ali rolls and scowls as she posts - "Ali is struck with a glancing blow on the shoulder and blood rushes out. ((rolled 3)) Now it's Ali's turn to attack but she can only attack one so she must be careful. But what happens when you are hit? You lose a hit point! All heroes have 2 hit point, all agents have 4 (this is subject to change based on player numbers on either side.) Once you have 0 hp, you are knocked out, or forced to flee, player's choice. Healing classes can, instead of attacking, heal a wound on someone. Note, can only do this once every three rounds to prevent over healing. 2) No one player may be engaged in combat with more than 3 opponents simultaneously. To indicate you are in combat with someone, walk up to them and unsheathe your weapon. Once a player has 3 people standing in front of them, no other player may enter the fray until a player is beaten. An example of said formation is below with "O"representing one side and "X" the other O O O X 3) But what if a friend is in trouble against three people? You may run over and engage one of the enemies one on one by walking over and standing in front of them with your weapon unsheathed. Whisper them you are engaging them and both you and the person you've engaged move a few feet away to show your ally is only engaged with 2 people now. Visual example below. O O O = O O O = O O O X = X X = X X 4) IMPORTANT: During combat, your emotes should be no more than a few sentences long. This is to keep combat flowing quickly and from jumbling up the chat window with long posts. So what next? Well from here, we all enjoy the ball tonight and Erik and I will start getting this all set up for the first Event on April 23rd. Any updates or further information can be found below and, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Hope you all have a great day and look forward to role playing with you soon.
15. ((The Rough draft of the final version that would appear under the events page. Please give me thoughts and edits so I can iron this out and post =D.)) Do you seek adventure, excitement, and intrigue in your rp? Then you are home at last. The Garlean Empire has grown weary of the city-statesmocking it and has dispatched agents to bring down Ul’dah by means of a magitec bomb. Will you defend this mighty city,or help turn the sands to glass? This event, entitled “Saga of the Wind Swept Sands” is a joint, community based episodic rp event (Could that get any longer?) beingrun my myself and Erik Mynhier on Balmung. Our hope with this event is to bring to community together and have somefun and, hopefully, make a story we all can enjoy fondly. So how does this all work? We are breaking this rp into weekly events to make it more manageablefor everyone and let everyone who wants to participate hop on. My goal is that each episode will take roughlyone to two hours so people can fit it into their busy schedules. Each week, everyone will log in at a setplace and we will run the story from there. Before this beings, we request that all interested partiessend pms to Erik if you wish to be on the hero side or myself if you wish to be a spy. All races are welcome foreither faction. Once we have the setamount of players, we will give a set date for the first event. At the moment, Erik and I are planning tostart this event AFTER the ball Erik his hosting in Ul’dah, which will be a perfect place to relax, meet other people and have a good time. There are five planned stages for this event. Stage 1 is registration and a meet and greet. This will take place at the ball and with side rps before and after. Stage 2: Erik will receive an in-game letter that is supposed to be for the Garlean head agent, Askier. Erik will gather the hero participants and go to confront Askier with the direct evidence. At this time Askier and Erik have alreadymeet and the board has been set. Stage 3: The race. The three bomb parts all arrive on the same day at three places. These three locationswill be described with a short riddle for each. B) The spies are forced to flee, their plan in ruins Stage 4 then becomes either: A) If the spies have more parts, a race against time to defuse the bomb as the spies defend the bomb with their lives unless restrained or knocked unconscious. B) If the heroes have more parts, they must hunt down and capture the fleeing agents who will be taking various roads north. Stage 5 The heroes will interrogate the agents they capture and thendish out their punishments accordingly. It is very possible some agents will escape capture and might attempt tofree their brethren. So about dem Rules: 1) IC knowledge does not equal OOC knowledge. O O O = O O O = O O O X = X X = X X 4) IMPORTANT: During combat, youremotes should be no more than a few sentences long. This is to keep combat flowing quickly and from jumbling up the chat window with long posts. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free tocomment.
16. As long as it's not on a Friday or a Saturday, I should be able to make it =D Long as work permits, you can count me in for sure. After all, I can't resist free food. =D And there are darker things to consider between us too.
17. No need to worry, still working on this event. Just been crazy busy with work and working things in game out. will have final draft ready for everyone to see around Sunday or Monday. =D
18. Thanks for all the feed back on combat everyone. After some thought, I've decided combat will work something akin to this: Combat: to make combat a smooth action and to remove level gaps from the equation, we will be rping combat. However, to keep things from getting bogged down, we will be using the following rules (Which are still subject to editing) 1) Combat will take place as a back-and-forth. (( rolled 4)) It's important that your post says what you're trying to do, not if you hit, because the defender will roll and then post what happens. Ex -Tom keeps missing so Fred joins in. All heroes have 2, all agents have 4 (this could change based on player numbers.) Once you have 0 hp, you are knocked out, or forced to flee, player's choice. Healing classes can, instead of attacking, heal a wound on someone. Note, can only do this once every three rounds to prevent over healing. 2) No one player maybe engaged in combat with more than 3 opponents simultaneously. To indicate you are in combat with someone, walk up to them and unsheathe your weapon. Once a player has 3 people standing in front of them, no other player may enter the fray until a player is beaten. An example of said formation is below with "O"representing one side and "X" the other O O O X 3) But what if an ally is in trouble against three people? You may run over and engage one of the enemies one on one by walkign over and standing in front of them with your weapon unsheathed. Whisper them you are engaging them and both you and the person you've engaged move a feet feet away to show your ally is only engaged with 2 people now. Visual example below. O O O = O O O = O O O X = X X = X X 4) During combat, your emotes should be no more than a few sentences long. This is to keep combat flowing quickly and from jumbling up the chat window with long posts. That's what I have for the moment, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
19. I wouldn't worry to much about it. We are here to have fun and if you enjoy the style, I think people will respect the color choices and just go along.
