i believe it would take a role of interaction more than status. For example, like the tavern in Jeuno that only allows certain people on certain days, what if certain places needs certain believers to be able to gain access. That will make you find someone with that affinity. Also, it could be a sidetrack like what happens in tetramaster in ffxi. You can have your fortune told and such by how you draw the cards. I really thought it would go along the lines of having shrines around the world. If your party or yourself needs assistance (MP or HP) Depending your god you will pray for help and boom! you get restore . . . maybe I would like a lot having actual zodiac signs we could relate to and put on lighters

*Fires Gargor as spokesman* Winer of the RPC Award is Aguacatin with 7 votes. Congratulations to Aguacatin for his/her efforts. Expect soon your trophy to adorn the RPC Awards room as it waits to be given to the winners of the upcoming celebration. --------------------------o Takes the design and delivers it to the RPC Award Crafters to make replicas of it. The expression of awe and admiration shines like a star peeking from each and every one of the skillful master crafters. Immediately, they take the design and study it, inspecting it delicately to replicate perfectly every detail. "Great handwork," a hyur said scratching his chin timid to touch it. His blond short hair shined to the light emitted by the impressive artifact destined to be the symbol of greatness. "Indeed it is!" a Lalafell said as she searched for tools in a giant bronze tool box. Her body hidden inside a long dark brown coat with a hood covering her head. A sinister white mask with a wicked expression hid her face to anyone. From the distance, footsteps were heard in the distance approaching quickly and confident,"Mortis! Mimi! Stop wastin time. Getto work!" she said as the Hyur and the Lalafell hurried preparing the giant workshop to start the project. "Yes Ma'am!!!" Mortis and Mimi said as they began ordering the other workers. The tall Elezen came from the shadows of the corridor entering the giant workshop. Her skin was pale as if it was tenderly caressed by the moon's light. Her hair, soft white, accompanied the beauty of her skin. In her neck a thick collar hung holding a gold key at it's end. " We'll hav da item ready n'Time. No worries."

I say if you want to go high quality you can always alliance with one of the big podcasts in ffxi and make a proposal for a small segment of 10-20 minutes to start with. They can offer the equipment most of us can't pay and we offer the topics, hosts, etc. (like the small shows from FFXI) Make it convincing! Do declare how big our community is and can be and how much publicity they can gather just by a small segment of 10min  I believe a low quality audio guests can be acceptable as long as the host and segments are well done, so a simple skype call when talking with more than one is enough, no need for everyone to be high quality.

We want to thank all those who have participated so far and hope to see more people submitting as the deadline grows near, and we are glad we see some enthusiasm around the RP Community; however, it seems there have been some confusion around. For those having doubts on the RPC Award event and how it would work here are some of the FAQ we have received and might help. 1) Are you hiring for a real event? No, we are not hiring anyone for a Real Life event. Mason was awesome enough to suggest he would do an actual sculpture if it was possible. We do not have the time, money, nor network to create a Real Live gathering of the RP community. 2) Where is the Event taking place and do we need tickets? RPCAwards is a simple award show originated ingame(as many Linkshell have done before). The difference is we in Alexander like to incorporate little events making road to the ceremonial event fun ( we make games like designing the award for example) This said, we do not create a real live event of Role Players (Unfortunately) for reason specified in (1) 3) Why do we need real information? No, Real information is not required to participate. Name can be RPC names. We usually go and check what names are in members or in the achieve/directory thread 4) Is there going to be live music in the awards? No 5) Is this event sponsored by SE (Square Enix) We wish lol but no 6) Will we get the award for ingame furniture. lmao, We wish even more but still no. Sorry 7) How will I get my award if I win? There will be a page designed by one of our members where the winner name will be placed in a trophy case, with time all the trophies will be in the same page side by side. Ej. 2010 space in the shelf has the winner name and 2010 trophy with a little memo of the winner. 8) Will there be more events like the Award creation one? Yes, as many as humanly possible. *We wish most doubts are cleared and we wish all participants Good Luck.

For the moment we want one per submission per person to keep the chances equal. However, if you want to ask people which of yours is better is not a problem. However, for now is only one per person submission. Good Luck and thanks for the enthusiasm little mammet. -Ram Beholve :afro:

In alexander we had a lot of daemons/animal morphing. Specially from a little group up in the Xacabar and the glacier. Also a lot of anime knock offs RPs were made. They were fun at first but it was kept done (specially Naruto and Wolf rain) We only had 1 Hybrid in the whole time I was there. She started as a girl mithra and grew up becoming a warrior, then a scholar, then a high official, she was betrayed and last I knew she was a shaman in a hidden nomad group. (just an example of how exciting can something be when is rare.) prison breaks were rather kept by days (needed to be certain amount of time jailed before trying or coming up with a escape. The regular time jailed was three days. if they wanted to stay longer they could; if no one online when he or she wanted out , then with a valid RP sent via pol {I wonder if we will have POL} he or she was able to escape) We also had a little problem with RPing water. When someone wanted to escape or leave the RP he or she usually dived into the windurst river (for example) and swam away. We had to put dangerous fishes in the waters so if they tried that they had to RP how they avoid them all (no "didn't found any fish" allowed) Pregnant woman! . . . never had one RPing a full role, the few we had already had children around. Religious (a.k.a. Gods/semiGods) These were banned for the most part for three reason: 1) They usually wanted or ended being omnipotent 2) They wanted to change the lore of Altana and Promathia 3) Some tried to get tricky with foresight or God signs. EXCEPTION TO RELIGION: There was a group called Wedding Bells. They had a religious RP and offered Wedding Ceremonies (which were awesome they did an amassing Job) followed by the party (which was even more awesome). From that RP many small slices of life happened where there was Bachelor Party, Bride panicking, and for some reason a featherless chocobo festival . . . (don't ask happened once :silent: ) They did charged fees for the ceremonies depending on what the people wanted and how cheap was in the AH (fireworks, wedding dresses, rings, places, etc.) . . . good times good times (sighs)

If I am not mistaken, It was retracted. They are saying Invitations start on 1st and open beta test site is the 11th. No more information beyond that it has been given officially as far as I have read. Anyone can retract on this if anything found. Everything else is speculations. The e-mail is stated as "people says." I believe info is in ezeorpedia or core. Also, is funny they said in the so called beta email instead of " go to Read Me under the Play Guide thread in the forum." which is how they usually talk, or used to :lol!:

I honestly don't see why make exclusive rules for freelance RPers when they are from the coalition if they wish to be. I mean, they will follow the same rules and want the same output, they just will lack a second set of rules dictated by the individual guild. I believe they need no less nor more privilege just because they prefer no affiliations. However, if actions will be taken, I agree 100% with Tsumi. I second a Freelance representative (a link between the complains and the RPC if ever needed) As the rooster/database deal spoken, I don't think we need one since we have a forum to update as pleased. Unless some PHP or C++ program is customized to post and display data as its either updated or automatically changed it can be not only hard but tiresome ((Fight for vote rights!)) :lol!:

My side is the same. Most remain in FFXI and don't want to risk investing time unless they have more information on FFXIV (Which make some sense). Moreover, we can do little when trying to persuade when we have to say we don't know every class available nor even what server we are in. I believe some of those detail information can gather more people, the less risk taker. So far all we can do is remind them and wait unfortunately.

Taking from the comment from the post, if they are Greek based (speculatively) There could be not only temples but shrines. Small villages (maybe nomads Elveens) with portable shrines or set stones where rituals and such can be made. Probably seasonal routes leading to shrines where events will be placed. . . pretty much like FFX where some temples were elaborated and others were even forgotten yet everyone recognized the "all summons" but not everyone prayed to all or the same one.

As it's already discussed, religion is a tricky one. In my time in FFXI it wasn't touched after the release of Zilart which seemed to bring a lot of interest. We did had some intent to incorporate some religions but were failures for the most part (really awefull) as I stated before few groups remained consisted. Wedding Bells took an approach between the SE wedding service and the individual nation. For example, Sandy had it catholic style ceremony with a offering to Altana; whereas Bastok had a military ceremony for the most part. Windurst was the most elaborated where a character was made as chosen by the sybli to bless the couples. A trial/pilgrimage was done from windurst waters to the full moon mountain where everyone asked Fenrir to bless the union. Beside that a lot of RP between the "priests" was generally done specially the "Campaña Devota" (Devoted campaign) where the priests and all Wedding bells group joined in some kind of conference to discuss religion in FFXI (took forever those RP) In my opinion, the factors that hurt or help a religion whether is the followers and fame. One religion that stood for a while was the Gods of Sky (byako, which was the most famous in the ls) Somehow they linked Byako with Altana and Promathi. I quote "Byako was the first pet of the omnipotent Altana and Promathia. At the early age, both siblings fought for safekeeping the mighty beast but as they grew older their interest on the Byako diminish. Still loving the great beast, Byako was given immortal life and a gift from both Altana and Promathia." (this was believed by a small tribe living in Zi'Ta) The reason this kept on was because the majority accepted/liked/believed what was told and so it was proclaimed. As in the quote bellow, I totally agree upon that. PS: didn't know about the saints which would surely make interesting plots along the lore . . .

I predict that instead of a mog house, the DoL will have a Ranch or farm assisted by moogles. There he/she can farm in gardening, or pastor the sheep . . . then an adventurer needs a stack of sheep meet and he has to send his son to kill the poor sheep and pack it in small rag bags so the DoL can sell it. (I think)
