The population is what now? So far the cities are still way over crowded and mobs are still in high competition ... Ofcourse every mmo has a population boom at luanch and laters players either decide hey dont like it or they cant run itwhich might be a huge contributer atm. And there will always be the doom and gloom-negative nancys that say the world will end... Case in point, aion, they merged servers yes but the population seems to b growing.

Exactly... sure beats checking 10-15 places and finding noone.., esp if your a eraly morning mid day player...

Honestly every game that comes out these days seems to be held up to some imagined status of "wow-killer". And when wow doesnt just drop dead out of exposure to the sheer awsomeness of the newest mmo ppl get their nickers in a twist. I personally came into this mmo without any nostagalia (cept for maybe uo...) and have played it like it was the first game in its series, which by design seems to be how the ff series runs. Im not hopeing its some kind of new and improved rehash of its predicessor nore am I going to sugar coat this as some ffx fanboys would. The Good (positives)[*] [*] It makes me think, And that is more than most mmos can clam. [*] It eliminates the need to alt, which can be very nice when dealing with space issues. [*] It forces people to do things that in other mmos have lost their relevance, such as walking, Nowadays its boom hit one button and your somewhere else. God forbid someone makes your pixilated character actually walk to where hes going. and what did it cost you? the energy to hold down a key, my the trials are heavy.. [*] Crafting plays a major role in day to day activities, which is how is should be imo, enough with pulling the giant sword of pwnage out of the ass of that tiny little rat. [*] Its some of the most fun ive had in a Mmorpg in a very long time.[/list:u] The Bad (negatives)[*] [*] The repair system, dear god..., I get the need for a touch of realism but comeon, my hatchet irl doesnt wear down or break after 3 trees, why should my ig hatchet? etc. [*] The lag, I know some of it is my comp, but dear jeasus not even crysis lagged this bad, LL is totally off limits for me. [*] That little hiccup you get when someone runs into you... ppl do it on purpose and they need to Die a very painful and horrifing death O,..,O[/list:u] The Not-So-Ugly (thoughts, hopes, neutrality, etc.)[*] [*] Player houseing i can decorate and hopefully customize the actuall structure ( you UO players know exactally what I mean). [*] Maybe somemore variation in weapon and armor skins? I figure they will ad more as content comes out tho.. [*] More character customizeations please... im tired of seeing the group of 20 ppl and only 3 look different...[/list:u]

yes the miners guild does seem to be popular, but every time ive gone in there its usually emty cept for a guy crafting, or just standing at the counter buying something. What i meen would be some thing like this: Veltez asdaga Gridania amphathetre 8:30 am -10:00 am est And so on and so forth. people could use the edit function to update the posts instead of flooding it with posts from the same active users. like if i were to change my mind i could do something like this: Veltez asdaga Uldalah Miners guild 8:30 am -10:00 am est And it would be possible i suppose to scan for ppl in your area faster if it looked more like: Gridania Veltez asdaga amphathetre 8:30 am -10:00 am est

might it not be prudent to make a thread with 1 post by everyone on it that they can update as they are available for rps? with loc and time? just a thought...

It is used when talking about ones character, people used toon way back in UO. Semantics aside. Sure it may not be 100% fool proof, but in the event that its not an rper, id think the person would be interested in rping and an olive branch should be extended >_>.

Walking, and useing custom emotes are 2 sure signs that someone is a rper. I dont go by names b/c im going to turn them off here ina'bit, to block all the seperstrife cloudtifa's . Make first contact is all I can say at this point, even if your RP'ing a reserved emoish toon, ask for directions or just stare at ehm useing the /em function. Itll get attention and you can always com. useing tells.

crafting wise, my only gripe is trying to lvl it up. I seem to be missing something in that reguard.

Id like for this to be a compiled list of places people can come to find rp. Such a list would need to be broken down into main citys and outlyeing camps. I feel the need for this is great come the impending masses that will be just as clueless as i am now. As i can roam around grind, and uldas for hours and not see anyone rping. Gridania: The entrance/exit walkways seem like a good spot. As do some of the more remote areas of the city.

This begs the question of what are all the standard edition rpers going to do? besaid is in the red pop wise. Judgeing by the amount of ppl i hear waiting for the 30th it might be prudent in comeing up with a backup plan.

The race descriptions are.. alittle extreme id think. You can talk to any of the races and yes theres hints of the tendencies, but not to the extremes the descriptions imply. Mother, a light elf in gridania just tells you to watch the dusks and be carefule, but she just makes it sound as if they are on hard times rather than evil traiters and criminals.

Call me optimistic, but sofar theres nothing really "gamebreaking" all ive noticed are minor annoinces here and there.

It's not much of an issue anymore now that Hardware Mouse has been activated. Back in beta, it really -was- slow, and the best way to play then was completely with the keyboard. How do you initiate rp? when everyone stays out of /s and theres no way to tell the rpers from non rpers, linkshell sheilds can be dupped and seem to be often.

Title says it all, seeing as theres no sheep in grid whats our best option to raise LW in grid?

oh i am, i always walk in grid hopeing someone will come up, just kinda end up getting ran into alot *shrug*
