  1. Some of you may have already had the (unfortunate) encounter with me before. That's alright. I still love every one of you. Took a bit of a life beating. From those of you who do know me, basically the unthinkable happened. Joined the Marine Corps. Ended up at MCAS Miramar located in San Diego. Got married (LOL SOLANA IS MARRIED!??!/1/3one). I have one son (LOOOOOOOOL WTF). Love life and things are finally starting to slow down for me enough to think about playing the game with you guys. Some things about me: Work stays at work. Home is home. I draw crap. I also sew costumes and cosplay when my time allows. www.tentenswift.deviantart.com Go go go go go. My son is awesome. His birthday is on the 26th. That wasn't about me. Oh well! On my spare time, I enjoy helping others and gaffing off on MMOs (FFXI). You will never know my true gender. That's an ongoing theme here. I do intend to keep it that way. (Some things never change. ) Some questions I have right now would probably be common things people have been asking. My love for FFXI still burns in my soul and it did play a large part in my life--I did waste half a decade and then some on it. General question then. Does FFXIV suck like I keep hearing it to be? How is armour variants going along? I mean like, can we wear silly things like event items or other cool stuff? On canirunit.com, it claims my PC can run FFXIV, however, when I play the benchmark, it's barely workable. I played the Alpha and the Beta. Those too were jumpy and glitchy. Can I change the game settings to low where I can be able to play with no trouble? I plan to take the persona of Solana. He travels everywhere with me as a character. Same guy, same attitude. Though, he has a bit more fleshed out of a personality and will probably tone down considerably to where he's a strange, yet skillful character, with his quirks of being an uneducated nitwit. Instead of the loud, spamtastic chaos that I used to do. I wouldn't hold it against me. I was pretty bored. Too much spare time. Work was slow. etc. last question. Still haet me? :C Hope to hear from you guys!
  2. Haha, you guys are silly. Going to drop some experience here. Went over the whole thread and I'm having a hard time keeping up with it. :drunken: In my linkshell, quite a bit of people were transsexuals (Male Mithra undercover!) or just flat out homo. I guess we could call that a cliche. Another one being, being half-creature. It worked for most people. I don't mind. Solana has chocobo tendencies. As long as it was explained, then I saw no problem with it. We had an Alchemist who was half crawler from a botched-up experimental accident. I never did see a problem with demons or having wings. On many occasions, you see characters turn into wyverns, become ravaged beasts from curses, become possessed, etc. etc. It's a magical world out there where many things can happen. Because people can transform and you have the experiments which appeared when Aht Urhgan appeared, it opened up a new set of what can be done in the RP world that's a bit more creative! I don't see a problem with talking animals, either. They could be enchanted. They're special beings. How would one explain the talking doll we see every so often in FFXI? What about Cardians? See? Many possibilities. Then there's the whole half-breeds. We now know they exist in FFXI. How often, we don't know. There could be a lot of them around the world! We just never ever hear about it, you know? This is why I tend to mind my own business until someone brings it up as a problem. It was usually brought up on the forum and said person in question had to be legitimate on why it was okay that they did x and y to their character. What specifically wasn't allowed in my Linkshell though, were characters who would make inconsistencies in character development. Such as, the character inexplicably hates Mithra, then the next day, just suddenly LOVES them, and then they have a sudden bound of amnesia, so none of that ever really happened to them. It's not fair to the other RPers lol. My suggestion is that many need to just mind their own business and to not be so sensitive on what people are doing. The more people worry about something that should be considered minuscule, the more there's going to be squabbling and turmoil. It's unnecessary to judge others RP and to limit creativity. :star: Going to say this though. I remember the whole pregnancy ordeal. I can see why the person involved can be upset. Nine months is a long time to be RPing something. In defense of the other party, some people don't have that patience. We don't even know if the gestational period of the races to be honest. Regardless, the person who caused the other to be upset had character development issues to begin with. She married at least half the linkshell and had like 10 babies who fell off the face of the world and was never spoke of again. I'm confused. BUT HERE'S A GOOD SUBJECT! How time is managed in the world.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSIjVnZjtpI This. Japanese pranking. GO!
  4. I like the can I has ones. They're funny.
  5. I have extensive HTML knowledge. If you can draw/explain a layout with pictures and things that you need, I can make the outline and show you where you can put stuff so you can update and change things on your own without having to worry about the codes and what-have-you. Flash is retarded anyway. I could never figure that thing out. Traydon can vouch for me and my web-siteyness. Rescue's was just a very very simple page so people can understand things like BAM!
  6. I help by posting a picture of this adorable snail. Here's my advice. Chillax. If things happen, they happen. The thing is, you can't force people to do what you'd like them to do because you have plans. You gotta be flexible. If people come around, they come around. You can only send reminders and input to those of other servers. It's up to them to show up or not. So it's best to go about your day and not stress too much about it. :]
  7. Here's the thing. Competition was made due to grudges. Let's all hold hands and sing a song of peace. Take out the people who refused to even talk to one another and then you just have a bunch of people who just wanted to RP. I like the word etiquette better.
  8. You cleared it up Cast. We'll see what happens. 0: Let's hope it doesn't effect the RPC and that people know how to communicate with one another.
  9. Your example, Kes, is an expansion of my example used in how it could be used as a problem. I don't tend to lightly put things. I won't for this case. People go out of character, people take issues out of character. The reason LeaderA and myself could have butted heads could have been over something like, "I don't like how your character talks. It's really annoying". There's no avoiding OoC confrontations, and using one's character to convey how they're feeling against another player OoC is a bit OoC in itself. Dohoho. Wasn't really talking about how guilds could be excluded, but I guess that can be used too. I'm saying if I were to leave LeaderA's group and joined LeaderB's group, and LeaderB was invited to a cross-guild event set up by LeaderA, it would be kind of unfair to have myself excluded from RPing. Say I was granted permission to go to the event, but even then, members from LeaderA's side still avoided inclusion of RP. It could be simple as refusing to respond to a response given by me. Example: LeaderA Member: Who are you people? Solana: Solana van Vernon. What's it to you? LeaderB Member: Baconmage, warrior of bacon! LeaderA Member: Baconmage! Leave this place at once! You're not welcomed here. And then it continues from there, where any input from the character Solana is sidestepped intentionally. This is more along the lines of what's going to happen with individuals and how cross-guild events will be handled with people they don't like associating with. It's one thing to ask them to leave--as they're not wanted--but to just be buttheads about it by being passive-aggressive in a sense it's a bit dumb. Like a fake all-smiles done horribly wrong. Just curious how that'll be handled cross-guildly..ish.ness. I don't know if I'm going off subject or not. LOL! It's something that concerns me is all. WhoOOoo.
  10. Sorry, I meant "guy" in a general neutral-gender way. Like "dude". Sorry. Lady. Alright. Makes complete sense. It's good to have someone who has had experience in something like this. It helps so much. :]
  11. I like this Tsumi guy. Making lots of sense to me. Dohoho. It's more like this. This is what I'm worried about. I'll try to be clear about what I'm explaining. I'll use fake-examples. Not saying it ever happened at any point. Say LeaderA and I butted heads. Say he "banned" me from the guild, for whatever reason. Couldn't get over the argument, etc. etc. Again, for whatever reason. Cue smear campaign within his own guild. Now there's bitterness between myself, his members, and what have you. Say there was a cross-guild event. By this time, I'm with another group who is involved with this event. People hold grudges. Let's not sugar coat any of this. Pretty sure that LeaderA's group would exclude any and all interactions that had to do with me. A reminder, this is just a hypothetical situation that does occur, has occurred, and might occur again, despite being in a group multi-guild setting. Even with an overseer, if LeaderA's group is overseeing this, they pretty much have the ball in their court and can blind-eye any problems that occur, placing blame on say--myself--who was attending the event. I love the evidence-only thing. That's awesome. This kind of thing happens in real life, too. It's stupid high school mannerisms. And on that note, don't join the Marines. It's high school all over again. With adults. LOL I'm not stating to oversee problems with individual groups, rather, how guilds as a whole handle "problem" members and how that will be handled during events where many people will be showing up.
  12. What I believe needs to be avoided at all cost are the fact that there will be people with biased opinions and behavior. People tend to have a shorter patience with member A or B that they've had previous issues with and I'm sure that if they have a big enough circle of person A or B hating members (despite not knowing what's happening--just being told one-sided stories), they will be removed, temporarily suspended, etc. etc. Most of what I'm reading is many people will be on a leash and this'll be treated like a dictatorship. Representatives acting on their own, lying, cheating, etc. Best make your representatives based on integrity and not just because they're "friends".
  13. I'm so manly. Check out my many manly chest hairs. THEY SAY HOW MANLY I AM.
  14. Something I drew like 10 minutes ago. lo0l. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v638/ ... ture10.jpg Sculpture of a Wyvern I didn't finish. Inspired from a Phoenix Wright cross-RP. I would only join if I had sprite animations like the large majority of the community. Hahaha. I didn't finish. (IT HAPPENS!) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v638/ ... 9-2009.jpg ME NO FINISH! It's of my friend Ridley from FFXI. Elvaan SAM. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v638/ ... nswift.jpg Nero and Weiss. No finish either. Something I DID finish! WhoOOoOoo.
