1. When I DPS I -love- when targets are marked, because otherwise I have the habit of hanging back and waiting extra long for the tank to focus on one enemy and I feel like I'm getting those invisible 'what are you waiting for' stares. It makes everything go more smoothly, and when a situation arises where I have to off-tank for a sec I feel more comfortable saying so! I am, to say the least, not the most confident DPS but I try my best to contribute more than make accidental trouble. When healing I don't pay much attention to marks since I'm not doing a lot of direct-to-enemy interaction, but it does let me know what's safe to drop a DoT on when I'm not busy.
2. I saw some edited screenies on Yoshi-P's tumblr of Lalas with cat ears and it was friggin ADORABLE.
3. I lied, THIS is S'amina's theme song. (Some salty language) sjzEAY8znzs
4. So much to catch up on. I want to do it all! Aaaaaa!
5. It liiives! For Heavenly Calyx: tdzG9kkxGt8 And S'amina Fhey: q4VTyykeKFw
6. I. Basic Info Characters: Heavenly Calyx, S'amina Fhey Primary character: Heavenly Calyx Linkshells: Member of Broken Chairs Primary RP linkshell: -- [*] II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium to heavy is what I'm aiming for. Views on RP combat and injuries: Those are the potential consequences of getting into hairy situations! They can be fun to play out AND fun to avoid in creative ways. It'll take a lot for me to accept permanent death of a character in a game where Raise is a thing. Loss of limb (or function of one) and other such heavy injuries are another matter, though I won't smile on a character being randomly rolled on the street and permanently maimed as a result. Views on IC romance: To me romance can be a fun side flavor for friendly relations built over time (or relatively suddenly, given chemistry), but they aren't the main focus of my play. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Oh goodness, I LOVE building up a platonic 'family' of friends, or even occasionally getting folk to play out blood relations. They help form a part of who your character is, and are all kinds of fun to bounce off of in positive and negative ways. I'm not so much about 'long lost' siblings, but am amenable to at least being asked about playing a close blood relation mentioned on the character wiki (or a farther off one not mentioned). I just need to get to know the player some first! Views on lore: I'm not terribly in the know about world lore, but I try to play within it as much as possible. For example the IC 'problem' of White Mages being super rare, my future WHM jobbed character is going to play off as a rather learned Conjurer, but not declare herself a White Mage in character. But I won't hold anything against declared rarities at all. It's just a personal preference. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I LOVE listening in on /say roleplay, it makes for an entertaining time! I'll take part in it as well, but the organization of /tell and linkshells make it much easier for me to find a bit of calm when conversation gets going at a hectic pace. I find myself having to think hard about replies more often than I'd like, and don't want to agitate anyone with my relatively slow pace until I get into the swing of things. [*] III. Other Info Country:USA Timezone:Eastern Contact info: I tend to give that out over /tell in game, if necessary [*] [glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow]
7. Heck, even cross-clan within the races would be nice! But Highlander Hyur/Roegadyn would certainly be something to see.
8. So, I do that digital art thing. Have a wee art dump! The pink lady herself A homestuck fantroll And an evil knight! All personal characters that I've played or am playing. More FFXIV related items as I make 'em!
9. Hello hello! Welcome to Balmung, it's a wonderfully friendly place as you've noted and I hope you stay! Some folk like to build up their character as they go along, so it's quite fine not to have everything fleshed out in the beginning. I'm sure you'll start picking up motivations and other meat and potatoes things about him quickly. :3 Being a conjurer, I'm in and out of the Twelveswood quite frequently, and I'm new to the server scene as well. Maybe I'll run across you!
10. *happy screech* Aaaaa friends and nice people abound! My work schedule is crap (aka, not set so shift/days vary) so I am on in fits and spurts aside from guaranteed Saturdays. But! I will try to get myself out there on those odd days off, and write up some backstory/make a directory profile/wiki page to get things on that end rolling!
11. Aww yiss lady Roegadyns in the house! Don't worry over the name, there's always something that can he handwaved. My gal's mum was a Sea Wolf, but she had a friendly on again off again thing with a bardly Hellsguard man, and let him have naming rights once she could track him down again to shake him down for child support tell him the good news. ...that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Welcome back!
12. This would be wonderful, especially for those unsure of where to start or who don't/can't commit to a RP linkshell or FC.

Greetings

It took me a few days of waiting to get each of my characters in, but it happened eventually! Welcome, when you get in. It's a nice place!
14. My name is Meg, and I've been playing FFXIV since before it became ARR, but didn't get very far thanks to butting up against my own impatience. I've started all over again and am anxious to not only have fun with the mechanics of the game but to get in some nice roleplay as well! My main on the server is going to be Heavenly Calyx, the lovely Roegadyn lady in my avatar. She has her mum's eyes, a tinge of her dad's coloration, and all of their self confidence combined. ...which may or may not be a good thing. Currently she's tutoring with the Conjurer's guild in Gridania in the hopes that a firm respect for life and death will give her enough grounding to keep herself out of unnecessary trouble. And maybe the chops to handle it if she doesn't feel like keeping out of it. A secondary is S'Amina Fhey, a kindly but socially awkward Seeker of the Sun lass. She's just out to prove that having a head thick enough to break rocks (as her mam says she has) isn't ALL bad. She's taken up with the Pugilist's guild to hone her scrappiness into something a little more useful, and is eyeing the Miner's guild in hopes that some literal rock breaking might earn her some cash. As for myself, I've been roleplaying since before I knew that was the name for what I was doing! I'm 31, and forever making characters in both existing worlds and original ones. There's a lot of tabletop, chatroom, forum, and e-mail roleplay under my belt, and I'm almost always happy to fling a bit of IC interaction out there once I can get past my massive case of the SHYS. So, hello!
