  1. Has anyone heard of this being made before? I was thinking of either commissioning it to be made from wood or perhaps having it 3D printed somewhere. I'd really like to get my hands on one.
  2. If I end up having the time, I'm in. Not sure if I'll be fighting or not.
  3. Sounds fun. Can expect me to make it!
  4. Really enjoyed hosting again! Can't wait for the next.
  5. Shadows give me maybe 2FPS increase. Disabling all gives me about 7. Using laptop settings at that resolution gives me 60 FPS easy but I still suffer the 'lul' from particle effects. Out in no-man's land I will get 60FPS steadily. Also I just remembered, this game isn't technically SLI ready yet correct? nVidia has some drivers the the games way of rendering doesn't fully utilize multi-GPU configurations? E1: How would two PCI-E 3.0 16x cards not be filling the bus speed of a 2.0 motherboard?
  6. I'd rather piggy back off this topic than start a new one. What is the number one bottleneck for multi-screen gaming? I'd like to think it's the GPUs and video memory available but that doesn't seem to be the case with my current setup. CPU: i7 930 @ 3.8 Mobo: Rampage III Extreme GPU: 2x EVGA GTX670Sced 4GB Memory: 12GB Dominator GT SSD: OCZ Vertex 2 120GB Game Resolution: 6040x1080 In most situations at maximum settings I'm getting at least 25-30 in Limsa and 45-50 everywhere else. The one thing that bugs me are the particle effects for instance zoning points (the blue warp thing outside a dungeons respective physical entry point) and walls after starting a boss fight cause 'warping' to happen where the game luls than catches back up in a sense. FPS isn't really impacted as it's all smooth but the game literally just luls. One thing I know is my motherboard isn't PCI-E 3.0 like the GPUs. This I understand bottlenecks but how much I'm not sure. I've been waiting for DDR4 memory to hit the market and do a Mobo/CPU/Memory update and that's soon going to be an option. Wanted to know if there's anything to be done in the meantime?
  7. Thanks for the responses! I actually meant to suggest it being connected to my character through aether. Like, his mood affects his aether flow which then changes the color of the mask. In regards to what school of magic, I was thinking conjurer and healing magic. Healing is positive which is associated with light and light affects how we perceive colors. So loosely I think I could explain that there is an aetherical bond where Sylvains bodily aether bends the 'light magic' imbued into the mask. By default he currently has just a regular white one which has become damaged ICly and he wants to get another crafted and make it 'better'. Where it is physically bound to him and also enables him to convey emotions through it. Long term, Sylvain will have the following colors accessible. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet, White and Black. Might add a pink to imply embarrassment or affection but color theory wise that falls into violet.
  8. I'm curious to know if there is a form of magic that could be cast on an apparel item that would change its color to reflect the mood of the wearer? Exact Context: Sylvain wears the Ash Mask nearly 24/7. I'm curious if there is a form of magic I can reference to that would be cast on the mask giving it the ability to change color and reflect the mood of Sylvain. Added Question: Is there a magic that could essentially bind it to him physically? I wouldn't say permanent binding but that only he would be able to physically remove it. Similar to excalibur where only Arthur could remove it. Thanks!
  9. This very much reminds me of FLCL for some reason. Love it! And as others have asked, I would like to see you start taking commissions!
  10. Awesome idea! Sylvain will help in any way he can. I'll be on regularly this week and will try and find you in game. I saw that someone during another event had music going and I'd be all about learning how to do such a thing or help someone else create a playlist for the night. I could totally see having certain audio cues to help move the night along without really breaking immersion? So many ideas.
  11. To add on to Zhavi's post about the name mixup. Oh such a story. STORY TIME. Last night, I was on a bit early. I decided hey, I'll just check to see if he's on just in case he's on a bit early. I search 'Sylvain' and a name pops up. The name that pops up is Sylvaintel. I send this person a tell -- "Hey, are you ready to rp?" The person responds. "Sure, just give me a little bit." So I send him to the Wench, have everything set up, we start to rp. The beginning is a bit slow, as Zhi is setting him up to do her bidding. But then they start talking. The character seems a little different from Sylvain's wiki. I figure hey, maybe the wiki is out of date or something. Time passes. The guy starts talking about how he's a cook. I start thinking, this is really weird. I don't remember this being on the wiki at all. So I bring up the wiki while I'm waiting for a post, search 'Sylvaintel' on the wiki. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT WIKI. I'm like uhhh. . .did he edit it? I check the edit. Last edited a week or so ago. Now I'm starting to feel like something is off. I go back to my PMs, look at the name. Have a sinking feeling in my gut. Click the wiki link in the profile. Headdesk, headdesk, headdesk. I don't know what time it was when I searched your name again, but you weren't coming up -- and I was panicking at that point. I didn't know if I'd messed up the times, or if you'd come in gone, I'd missed you or misspelled your name, what. All I know is that I messaged A COMPLETELY RANDOM PERSON to rp and he just ROLLED WITH IT. Not a question, not a blink, nothing. Please forgive me. I did not mean to stand you up for your doppelganger. He's probably not even the right race, knowing me. Many, many apologies. All in all.. I ain't even mad.
  12. I. Basic Info Characters: Sylvain Tristelle Primary character: Sylvain Tristelle Linkshells: Rendezvous Primary RP linkshell: Rendezvous II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Light to medium. I'm still trying to wrap my head around lore and verbology (Not a word but I like the way it sounds). I'm OOCly a timid/shy person who doesn't actively seek new connections despite wanting them ( such is life? ). Lastly I'm still pretty new to the server and haven't really done much diving into the RP hotspots but I hope to do so soon. Views on RP combat and injuries: Haven't done any sort of /emote combat yet but I understand the premise. I'm open to it and will do my best to keep things reasonable and accurate. In regard to injuries, I'm fine with deep wounds that would scar but limb loss would be a bit much for me and definitely not up for dying just yet. Views on IC romance: This became an issue in the past so I try not to mix business with pleasure in the respect of not opening a door that may get slammed in someones face. Unless I have an OOC connection with that person it's very unlikely I'll act on anything. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Not really prepared to grow additional branches in the tree just yet. Views on lore: I do my best to follow it and if I'm ever confused or wrong about something I'm 100% open to OOC corrections. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): IC or OOC in any medium is fine but I prefer OOC to come through /tell unless it needs to be said to the group as a whole. III. Other Info Country: US Timezone: EST Contact info: PM me here, I'm active daily. Primary Hook: Sylvain is dedicated to helping others. He will do good or bad to help as long as the 'status-quo' is maintained.
  13. Good to have you! Have no doubt, you are sure to find something going on here you'll enjoy.
