  1. I did not, I must have missed that post. Should I send him a PM now (or is there someone else to PM) or is it too late?
  2. I've been very interested in doing this, but I haven't been sure exactly where to start, nor have I heard anything from anyone in game...apologies if I missed something, did I not sign up correctly?
  3. I've always imagined Lillith to have a basic grasp of reading and writing, not a highly educated one, but enough to get by in the military, and know if she's getting screwed over in a mercenary contract. Unless it's a merc contract written using a lot of big words...then she's kinda screwed. Does that make sense?
  4. Lillith has one mount, and that is her trusty Chocobo Kainami, over whom she gets very defensive. Kainami is a bit of a...special Chocobo. The Miqo'te came across it while entering the stables to receive her company mount. The troublesome chocobo had broken free of it's handlers and ran full tilt into Lillith, sending her sprawling to the ground. Instead of continuing in it's persuit for freedom, Kai stopped, leaned down and pulled Lillith back to her feet by tugging on her tunic with it's beak. It then proceeded to simply stare at her. Lillith stared back, and found that this mount seemed to be suffering some type of disability, while one eye stared straight back at her, the other went askew, looking in a completely different direction. This chocobo was walleyed. "Kweh." It uttered in a completely monotone voice. The handler of course made a big fuss over the incident and tried to get Kai back into it's stable but the big bird kept stepping away from the handler, each time ducking behind Lillith. Laughing, she began to stroke the mount's back and insisted she would take this steed for her own. This, of course, lead to several hours of the handler explaining why it was a very, very bad idea. Lillith didn't find a reason for worry however, and dismissed his warnings, taking the mount for her own. Much to her surprise, Lillith learned that Kainami was fast, fast enough that even with the disability it could keep up with normal chocobos, and could even go neck and neck with a Chocobo bred specifically for speed. On the down side however, Kai appears to be incredibly simple minded, prone to flopping on the ground and rolling about in the dust, walking funny, standing and staringly blankly with it's tongue hanging out of it's beak, "petting" people by flopping it's head against theirs, and chewing on hair. Kai also seems to only be able to make one sound, a very flat, mono toned Kweh. Kai has a particular fondness for the hair of one Meta Xi, who has a slight aversion to the strangeness of the bird. Despite this however, Lillith is fiercely loyal and protective of her Chocobo, whom in term is just as protective over it's Master, often rushing to defend the archer should she find herself in a situation she can not handle.
  5. It's time like this I am so glad I am doing a 30/30 split on my Novus for Crit and Det T_T
  6. I would love to participate in this As a mercenary, Lillith is always traveling about, so if there is a means to make some quick coin off of her knowledge of the land...why, she would participate indeed!
  7. Lillith's weapons are fairly simple in both design and origin, even though her goals are anything but. Her main, and really only, weapon is a large, yew bow. It is of Gridanian design and is actually the bow her father used to wield. Upon his retirement(he is still alive and well, living in bentbranch), he passed the bow to Lillith, explaining that it had seen him through his share of hard battles, and it was his hope it would do the same for her. So far, it has. Other than that, she carries a hunter's knife, used for skinning, chopping, boning and generally doing anything her Bow can not. It's less a weapon and more a survival utility but it is visible on her person none the less.
  8. Mmm. Lillith's arrows will not doubt enjoy the taste of Crow flesh :3
  9. Awesome! I will have to check town hall then, and see what trouble I can get into. =^.^=
  10. Hi everyone *waves* Though I am still working on Lillith's Wiki, I'd love to get a chance to start getting to know everyone a bit better, and having some IC meetings with you all. I currently have a decent bit of time to float around on the internet while at work. I can't sign onto FFXIV but I am available for play by post. It doesn't have to be anything to terribly intensive, but it be nice to have a bit of fun If anyone is interested, feel free to post here or send me a PM. Thanks!
  11. Damnit Meta get back in the kitch---oh, a new RP thread? I would love to join in on this! And I totally second the idea of an undead dragon. Kinda like the last boss of AK you know?
  12. Alright, now that I've had a moment to think on it, let me do one for Lillith! Whoo! Comments and critiques are welcome! Strength 12 - She's a bit higher than average, but only as a result as her military training and life as a mercenary. There is also an issue of power to weight ratio, she is 5'2 and 125 pounds, even on her best day she'd lose an arm wrestling match to a Roe. Dexterity 18 - Lillith's entire motivation in life is centered around becoming the best Archer Eorzea has ever seen, with her primary goal being to surpass the Godsbow in both talent and renown. She's been training since her youth in Archery and while her skill with a bow is certainly impressive, she still has many paths to walk before she becomes peerless in her ability. As a Miqo'te she is quick and athletic, making some of her more acrobatic trick shots easier to manage. Constitution 11 - She's quite average in this department, though her military training has giving her slightly above average endurance, she is a ranged fighter and has not been properly trained to taking hits. While she can defend herself in close range using her bow in a physical sense, this style of combat relies heavily on her ability to dodge any close range attacks, not take them. Land a punch in her gut, and you'll wind her for sure. Intelligence 11 - Lillith knows her way around a book, and is good enough as a leatherworker to mend her armor, but she is certainly no scholar. Her intelligence is just barely above that of common folk. Wisdom 14 - Lillith has quick wit and in a dangerous situation she has enough sense and experience to make decisions that will lead her party out of it alive, but while the wisdom she does have at this point has been earned through a life of combat, adventure and exploration, she is often held back in this department by her horrific apathy. Charisma 15 - She is quite fun to be around and doesn't have issues jumping into the thick of things and making new friends, but she often speaks her mind without regard to how her words could offend somebody, not so much because she is dense but more so because Lillith has no care for whom she does, or does not, upset. She can tell a lie if she needs to but as a character trait she tends to avoid it, considering telling to truth to be the much more entertaining avenue. She's not bad to look at, though certainly not the most beautiful in Eorzea it doesn't keep her from getting by in the bedsheet department.
  13. Yeah, these stat number are a little broken. ._. I would dare to say a mary sue is present BUUUUUUT... I'm not that much of a jerk and don't very much care either way. Not that I think people who pull mary sue cards for little reason are jerks but if you're character is nearly perfect in all stat values then thats typically a sign of a mary sue. I may be wrong thugh as I have never RPed with Coat ICly. As a person who has DM'd several DnD and Pathfinder sessions, these numbers look perfectly fine to me, especially if it's a mid leveled character, and I don't see anything on the front page about this being a level 1 based character >>;
  14. I am sooo excited for this! I've been wanting that Yukata since I started playing back in February I hope what they are saying on the official forums is correct in that what they are showing as available to buy from the vendor is just a generalized example and that they actually will have all the color variations of Yukata to choose from.
  15. It is but... without any healers i'll have to postpone the event! D: When I get home from work, I can check with my FC to see see if there are any healers who wish to come along. I know of two who like to roleplay but I don't know what their schedules or plans are.
  16. I am also in favor of Balmung I can always find RP there pretty much anywhere I look.
  17. Is it still possible to sign up for this? *pushes fingers together*
  18. There's a dev post on equipment and lore that goes into this a little. Darklight gear, for instance, may be replicas, given "the sheer quantity she [Rowena] seems to possess." Personally, I think it's safe to assume -- or at least say -- that any gear you buy with tomestones are either well-made replicas or restorations in the style of those legendary pieces of equipment. *nods* Then that confirms my thought, it is possible to have armor styled like pieces of legend but they themselves are, obviously, not the exact piece. My thanks for the link!
  19. Ah, well whats the difference between the two then? @_@ The difference is: "Dragoon" is just a title. "Dragoon" in XIV lore, literally means an Ishgardian Knight who has slain a dragon. (And has proved it.) They are not speshul, they do not have powers. They don't even have to use a lance. All they've done is killed at least one dragon. The Azure Dragoon is a person chosen by Nidhogg's Eye to bare the Dragon King's influence. With the extreme exception of the MSQ PC, this only happens once per generation. It is not a gift, it is a curse. The Azure Dragon must wear ritual Drachen Mail, which helps repel the Dragon King's influence, but it is ultimately their own personal willpower which prevents them from succumbing to Nidhogg's Eye and committing terrible atrocities. Warrior actually isn't that bad. According to Curious George, the ancient art of the Inner Beast is still being taught by the Hellsguardian villages beyond Agalatia's Spine in Farreach. Travel there, and you may find the path to unlock your own Inner Beast. It is true that the art fell into disuse in Eorzea, but mainly for the same reason as Bard. There were no great wars fought for nearly a century. To clarify, moogles have nothing to do with learning to become a bard. All they do in the Bard Quests is help you convince Johantel to get off his bum and stop feeling sorry for himself. Cuddly, fluffy, moogle plushies are good for that sort of thing. Black Mages are interesting in that, yes, they learned to open Voidgates, but that isn't really what Black Magic is. "Black Magic" by definition, is actually just a technique to more effectively cast destructive magic. The mother of Black Magic, Shatotto, wished to ever further expand her magical prowess, but was ultimately limited by her own aetherial reserves. That is to say, to wield the power Shatotto desired, it would kill her. So she discovered a way to drain the planet's aether instead of her own. This technique was called Black Magic. Likely receiving its name because the land around the caster would die with every cast. From 1.0, we learned that Black Magic is not taught. It is learned through rigorous study, reading, and experimentation. It is not an exact art. It takes years, possibly decades to master. And even then, things can still go horribly wrong. As for its connection to the Void, we now know that Black Magic can be used to open Voidgates. Thaumaturgy also has this ability, however, the sheer amount of aether required for the process likely makes this impossible for a Thaumaturge to do alone. Which is why you need Black Magic, to siphon the world's aether for the job. For obvious reasons, this job has been forbidden since the War of the Magi, in which Black Mages, White Mages, and Scholars waged a magical war so devastating, it nearly killed the planet, prompting the Elementals of the Twelveswood to summon a flood to cleanse the taint of all magic from the world. Sigh... White Mage is complicated. In 1.0, you were granted access to Succor (White Magic) by an Elemental named Oha-Sok. And it is because of your purity of heart (or possibly Hydaelyn's Blessing) that Oha-Sok entrusts YOU to return Succor to the dying planet. She even becomes your White Mage Robe so that you might carry Her power with you. In 2.0, they've all but abolished Elementals being of any consequence any more. Ugh. Hatred. Anyways, you are gifted the White Mage Soulstone of A-Towa-Cant, an extremely eccentric, dead Padjal. The two Seedseers, begrudgingly accept Cant's choice of successor mainly because they need a third whee-White Mage to strengthen the Hedge and are just too lazy to ask their big sister or E-Sumi... Anyways, in BOTH quest lines, you are quite sternly warned/threatened that should you ever abuse the Succor granted you, you're in for a world of hurt. Now, while both versions are fairly exclusionary, I'm of the opinion that if you can prove beyond any doubt that your character is pure of heart, you can wield succor. I personally prefer the 1.0 lore on the topic because A) it's better written and B) it does not discount the influence of the Elementals. Because Succor is the Elemental's Magic. They gifted it to Mankind in order to balance the destruction of Black Magic. It is the Yin to Black Magic's Yang. But ultimately, the world could not support the aether needed to heal what Black Magic destroyed. I'm going to end this here and get some sleep. Hope this helps! ^^ Thank you! This has been incredibly informative and it has helped In the end, I am more than comfortable continuing with my RP here, once I get a chance to catch more events! Though, there is one thing I wanted to respond to in this post and this post: Besides White Mage, Dragoon seems to be the second most debated class brought up here, so I have a question: What about a person who is playing a Dragoon, with the armor, but has specifically specified it is the armor purchased with Myth tokens? Rowena's wares are a very real thing IC, and we've even seen changes to her area BECAUSE of her dealings with the players. Yes the Drachen mail has special powers, but at this time that doesn't stop people from make replicas as we've seen in regards to Rowena's wares. Also, and I know I'm going off of topic for my class but I adore Dragoon to no end so I want to inquire. Don't we two Dragoons in the game itself? Isn't the person who trained you a Dragoon with their own soulstone they pass to you and then, we have the Azure Dragoon themselves? And....don't we technically only take the helmet from the Azure Dragoon? (or whatever the last piece of eq was from the level 50 Dragoon quest. I don't remember )
  20. This thread has brought about some fantastic discussion, and I am truely glad that I poste dit to begin with! It seems like, for the most part, people agree that there are quite a few ways to play various different classes and not break lore, that's very heatening to know and it's definately got me looking forward to roleplaying with everyone here all the more!
  21. I want to thank everyone who has responded to my thread so far. I really did have some large concerns, but everyone so far has been quite wonderful, and I thank you for your opinions and the way you've cleared up my concern.
  22. It's better explained in the quest itself, but I believe the Azure Dragoon has some Super Speshul Mojo involved with him. There is only ever one Azure Dragoon at a time. I feel the same way in regards to Dragoons as well. The are regular Dragoons and then there is The Azure Dragoon, which I see as someone who has become a pinnacle of what a Dragoon should be and so the title is passed to them because they display the abilities and talents of the very first Azure Dragoon.
