As a tank in most MMOs I played I get this and mostly due to WoW and pugs. I hate it. I quit WoW and played other games to come back to FFXIV (Well Neverwinter Online first) on a friends request only to find out I will be required to run dungeons to advance. I don't regret it but hate every time I have to go to Duty Finder for the next group activity. Doesn't matter how often I watch Youtube videos or run the dungeon its the silent judging that I believe is coming from 3 other strangers in the game. Yes I know it stupid especially when I've been told many times I'm a good tank by many people. I do get over it though as I want to continue to see this game but I do limit how often I do it. Now with friends or Company mates I don't have this issue even if the company mates are complete strangers.

Well this changes things. Do I even need to buy the expansion to continue playing if you are not close to level 50 less so than ilevel90?

I read this thread and everyone replying seems to be people who played since the game re-released or something. I just started playing this game little over a month ago. I'm just completed the level 30 MSQ and frankly it will be a lot longer if ever that I will complete the MSQ mostly because it requires raiding to complete. I will respect world changing events with expansions but things that are not shown in game but only in cut scenes I will have a hard time with. Please remember that not everyone you are RPing with are long time players who had the time and the means to play the MSQ through the current patch.

I. Basic Info Characters: Katsuni Blacke Linkshells: None II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium to Heavy but any really. Views on RP combat and injuries: Only RP combat worked out a head of time. Otherwise I find RP combat to be a waste of time because neither party will have something happen to their character they do not want. I do not mind injuries and roleplaying them. Views on IC romance: IC only romances are fine and tend to make stories more believable. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): I do not see why not. I see people play sisters or brothers, heck I seen whole families played well. Views on lore: Still learning FF world lore but its important to me. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): As long as lore explains how they work its fine with me and with FF having some sort of phone/walkie talkie magic this seems to fix it. III. MostlyAwol here (don't ask!) A friend got me into this game because of the role-playing he saw. So here I am. I've played many MMOs but only roleplayed in a few of them. I would say I'm past newbie into somewhat experienced roleplayer. I'm totally new to FFXIV and well basically know nothing of the world or its lore but I am learning it quickly. Regardless I do know how to create a character and I will try to keep things lore friendly. So you all know I tend to be one of those quiet people who need to be pulled into the mess. I will try to involve myself but at times I do find it difficult. Its a cycle thing so bare with me. I will see you in the game as Katsuni Blacke, in the mean time I will be reading the forums.
