1. Was a wonderful night, and we so enjoyed seeing so many new faces! Katja was pulled out for her first night tending bar, and I dare say she made quite the impression! Congratulations to Threed and Arvid for weathering that storm! We'll see you lovely folk again in two weeks - or perhaps sooner! Stay tuned! And don't forget - we do have a linkshell meant to help you keep in touch with us if you like our events!
2. Our first bar night of the month is tomorrow! Come break in the renovated bar with a few good drinks and maybe walk away with some extra coin!
3. Sorry, Duck! We were not, no! We'll be up and running again next weekend, though! <3
4. It was a blast! Thank you everyone who attended, and we hope to see you all back soon!
5. Name: Flidais Locte Type of date desired: Doesn't Matter. Gender preference: Both if Friendly, Male if Romantic. Brief description of your character: "It's not that she's not nice, it's that she's... ah, okay. She's not nice. She's mean, she's snippy, and Gods help you if you aren't a Keeper - because they're the only ones she has a tendency to tolerate! Maybe, just maybe, someone can show this guardian that life outside the Twelveswood isn't bad? Or... maybe just a sparring partner?"
6. I enjoy playing with chemistry and the like with characters, though this does not always result in romance and that's perfectly fine for me. I regularly rip my characters to shreds emotionally, so affection is just another blade to cut with. Mild silliness aside, as long as something develops naturally and intrigues me, I'm pretty okay flying with it. I only play romances with friends, though. I've had a few people get really, really creepy and that's just no good.
7. We're open right now! Joke contest starts in half an hour or so (give or take) with a drinking game later on! Come on down, bring your friends! Ward 6, Plot 12, Goblet!
8. I'll keep eyes peeled! Kiipa comes with a couple other Keepers, so there's options there as well. Don't be afraid to poke me if you see me about!
9. I'll do that! Kat's made a name for herself in the Brume area due to her habit of hiring the people there for work so they don't feel shame about getting a meal for free, so she's probably stopped by clinics and the like to see who needs the most help.
10. Gentle bump as I've updated this following a return to the personal role-play scene.
11. Echoing Odette, here. Go because they've lured you with booze, stay because the people are really awesome and one of the most beautifully diverse, yet cohesive, groups I've run across. I adore all of those I've met so far and look forward to seeing them in an entertainment capacity. Unfortunately, I will be unable to make this event... so everyone else should go in my stead and gloat about how awesome it was while I was stuck in CAD!
12. Okay great! ! ^^ I am often looking for a place to drop in with someone to RP. I just don't want to feel like I'm invading someone's space! That's why I asked Nah, it's not invading! We have a host of really fun people in the company, and most are happy to sneak down if they see new people lingering and hop in on whatever's happening.
13. If there is no one in the bar, then there is indeed an NPC tender there. Additionally, folks who would rather sit in the comfy places away from the bar are brought their drinks by the pair of mammet 'helpers' that operate during events and during times where a fleshie isn't available. That being said, between Anton and I and Suna, there is typically someone available. We may not always be right there, but the company is very good at letting people know when someone has entered the building.
14. There... still isn't a location listed.... >_>.... I've got it on the calendar but folks won't know where to go without directions. If I didn't have friends babysitting my brain space, I'd never get things done. It's there!
15. Now that is weird. My derp! I'm just so excited, and I just can't hide it.
16. Might and Magitek Presents - Meet & Mingle Night! Theme: Valentione's Date & Time: Saturday, February 20th, 9pm EST Location: Goblet, Ward 6 - Plot 12 ----- "Love is in the air, and it's so very easy to forget that affections of the heart begin with something as simple as a love for the same food, or the love of a bawdy joke! If the romance of the holiday has left you a little lonely and third-wheelin', Might and Magitek would love to invite you to our first ever Meet & Mingle Night! "In the spirit of the holiday - though the decorations will long be gone - of Valentione's, we're setting up for a humorous evening that celebrates the more playful side of l'amour, but without the strings and embarrassing morning after experience! "So if makin' new friends and memories is your cup of tea, we hope to see you on the special day!" - The Might and Magitek Management ----- The OOC Stuff: Eee! Okay, here we go again! To help smooth out this process a little more, I'm going to go down how these events are going to be handled, because the Meet & Mingle night is planned to be a monthly thing. We just decided to bring it out to play this time around! How This Works - Attendee's each pick up a 'wristband' from one of our staff on the main floor upon entering - if you plan on participating in the contests for goodies, you are required to have this band, as well as the partner that comes with it! Once you have a wristband, you can go into the tavern. The tavern will be set up special for the Meet & Mingle nights - you'll find a table matching your wristband's color and that is where you and your partner will meet. This also means you'll have some others to meet and talk to, too! We welcome couples and parties at this event, but please be aware that wristbands are handed out at random and you may end up separated from your partner and friends. This is intended and encouraged, and we will not accept requests for pairing up specific people. We want people to be extending their circles for the night - so you can bring your friends, but we want you to meet new ones, as well! From there, the evening features different events to help you guys get to know one another in fun, if slightly silly, ways. Pairings can go get their fortunes read by one of our tarot folk, can get their picture taken for the evening (which will be posted later), participate in trivia (partners or tables), or can just sit back and get to know the people they're with. Of course, we do have the absolute ultimate competition of the evening, because no Valentione's would be complete without it... A Poetry Contest! Oh yes, yes we are. Now, before you go worrying your pretty little heads about rhyming and the like, we're going to make this one ultra simple. Entrants to the poetry contest must: be a matched color pair and have their partner in attendance. No entering in singles, sorry! Each table will receive a topic that has been mentioned throughout the evening. It is the task of the pairing to create a limerick to read to their partner on stage to be judged - using not only the theme, but something discovered about your partner related to the theme! Judges will be looking at theme, originality, and - in true limerick fashion - bawdiness/hilarity. Our prizes are yet to be announced, so we'll get back to that over the next week or so. This thread will be updated over the next week, so check back from time to time! <3
17. Ha! Yeah, definitely should have reminded myself on that end. My bags were stuffed with the prizes and I realized my issue when the first one came back and it was only by handing over his prize that I had enough space! I will definitely throw up a next time to help people get back to base, so to speak Especially given that some of our hunts might... well, be larger than just the Goblet! It was busy! I think we had quite a few leave because it was overwhelming - I do hope they'll come back during quieter periods. As Anton can attest to, he and I were in Skype and I was comically frantic. I'm just happy people had fun! It bodes well for us to open up next week!
18. Thank you for coming! I'm only sorry that I was unable to stay for all the hilarity, but the song was amusing! Anton for best chef/bartender. Also, WHERE WAS THE KNIFE JUGGLING?! All joking aside I had a ton of fun and can't wait to see what else you guys cook up! No knife juggling! I'm very lucky to have Anton on hand for all of this - he definitely made this part of my pet project run easier! We'll have something fun in the theme of Valentione's for next month (which may be repeatable outside of it, too!). I'm so glad! You're welcome any time! I do know how they can be! I'm glad you had fun. The scavenger hunt was a nice little practice run for later events, so I'm glad that it was fun and there seemed to be a decent length of time in there. It took me forever to find Mhaya, a lot of those spots were really well thought out. I got lucky moving my camera to see the rooftop Dragoon (which by the way, I was super into the DRG being on the roof ) I did say they were sneaky! I knew where they all were, and would have had a hell of a time finding them had I been participating! They really made you guys work for those prizes!
19. Eee! Thank you so much to those who attended, and to those who really wished to attend but couldn't make it. It was an enormous turn out, and we sincerely hope everyone had fun. We want to express our sincerest thanks for your patience during the hiccups - we truly didn't expect as many as there were, and we were quite frantic making sure everyone was entertained! We learned a considerable bit, and hope to see everyone around for our next big event next month. That doesn't mean you have to be strangers! We look forward to hosting open tavern nights a few times a week, and we'd love to meet more people and make more friends!
20. You can trickle! I'm planning to start the contest an hour or so in, because I know mah fellow West Coastians get off work about the time the event starts. So please feel free to trickle in... we want people to mingle, and the doors will never close on anyone.
21. Eeeeeee! I'm so excited! Are you excited!? Are you ready to get stuffed and have a great time? Me too! I can't wait to meet all you new faces!
22. Might and Magitek Presents - The Sword & Skillet Tavern! ----- Everything was nearly ready. The wine racks had been filled, the stores were stocked, the counters polished and - Twelve blessed - not a single glass had been broken despite two cupboards and a shelf falling during the cleaning. She had her chef and manager, she had her staff - for the most part - and now there was nothing else more to be done than simply make sure the announcements were still visible in the cities. "Anton?" She made certain her voice had that saccharine-sweet tone that he knew was meant to alert him to a need, and grinned to herself as he grumbled over their private link-pearl. If she couldn't sleep, no one would sleep! Well, at the very least, he wouldn't sleep. "I'm sorry to wake you, I just wanted to confirm you did actually see to the announcements being posted in the cities?" There was a long pause. Too long, she realized with some amount of growing dread, and his tired voice was mostly a grumbled exhalation over the line. "Kiipa, you were handling that. You bit my head off when I offered, remember?" "I did no - ..." She felt the hairs on her neck rise and her tail fluff in the manner it had when she was defensive - or angry, but defensive suited at the moment. The curse she expelled over the pearl had him chuckling even as he ended the communication, leaving her to exercise her word bank of just about every Limsan seadog slur she could manage in the minute following. So it was that, in the early morning bells, a frazzled woman could be seen posting up a simple enough announcement - it certainly wasn't flashy or decorative except in script, and upon further inspection it was not hard to tell that each and every one had been written by hand. ----- Might and Magitek Proudly Presents: The Sword & Skillet Tavern! "Located in the cellar of the Might and Magitek Estate, the Sword & Skillet Tavern is a new establishment in Ward 6, House 12 of the Goblet that aims to provide patrons with a friendly and playful atmosphere where the drink flows freely and the food leaves you wishing you had two (or maybe three!) stomachs! "Come join us in celebrating the opening of our first financial endeavor, talk with the establishment staff about job opportunities, and leave with full bellies and high spirits. Found yourself three sheets to the wind and unable to leave? That's alright - we've accommodations to keep you safe for the night at affordable prices. "Fancy a little bit of a game? To really kick off our first night in business, we're giving you the chance to walk away with a little companion of your own! Bring your running shoes and your keen eyes, and there's a good chance you can go home with a Bluebird, Nana Bear, or Plush Cushion - somethin' to sing you to sleep, to snuggle in bed, or to rest your head! "The Sword & Skillet Tavern opens for business this Thursday at the Eighth Evening Bell - so bring your friends, bring your enemies - but please don't punch your enemies in the bar -, and don't forget to bring yourselves!" - The Might and Magitek Management ----- The OOC Bits 'n Bobs: Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! We're ever so excited to invite you and yours to our opening night and first official event as Might and Magitek! A little bit about us: we're an adventuring/mercenary company with some financial endeavors meant to not only fuel our own company story and the stories of our members, but to build up a company that interacts with the server as a whole - through stories, events, and cross-guild interactions. We want to give players of all skill levels a place to enjoy roleplay of all levels. That being said! This is our opening event, and for many of our members, the first real interaction with people outside the company. We expect hiccups and things to work on no matter how hard we plan, so your patience is appreciated! Opening Night is Thursday, January 28th, at 8pm EST. There is no ending time - we're going until it seems people are going off to bed. Can't make it for the opening night? That's okay! We're hoping to have the Tavern open several times a week, starting next week! More information on that by the weekend! Got a free night on Wednesday, January 27th? Two of our leaders are tying the knot, and you're welcome to join us for that celebration! Just get in touch with Gen Quickpaw or Tikka Swift for an invitation to their bonding ceremony on January 27th at 8pm EST! [[Tikka Ad Here]] We hope to see you there! Kiipa is well aware this is short-notice as frick, and hopes to never have this happen again - it's just been a very busy last month or so!

25. I've met a couple pretty awesome people, but I'm always hungry for more connections! Don't be afraid, I promise I'm nice... if a little scatterbrained!
