Hi everyone! Following the decision to make Omega the unofficial RP server for EU, we will be making a Linkshell to help keep those who are migrating to Omega: Create connections. Set up events. Oh no, it doesn't work like that Vexander, you still can partake in it in the NA, just say if you gave your code to an EU account (that doesnt mean a character on an EU server) more so someone who has bought the game in the EU, then it wouldn't work. So I couldn't use your code as I'm an EU account, but you an NA account so you can.

Answers to the best of my ability: 1: Ping may be an issue, but I have NA friends on Cerberus atm, N.Carolina was one of their locations and they said it was fine for them, ofc this won't always be the case. 2:Time zone will be an issue at first, there is no denying that but if more NA players came across, we could slowly build an international community, so it's always an option, and yes you do raise valid points, however on days people are off work and such there is always the possibility of making events friendly to both timezones perhaps. 3: No you don't need another account, it's just for item codes from promotions it effects such as the amazon maid costumes etc. You can move your main over and soon for free as well as far as I'm aware So it's a possibility. I hope I helped, sorry if any of my information is incorrect friends.

I just want to chip in and say, the whole reason we have Balmung is because they refused us RP server tags back at Launch, they have told us they were never gonna do it in a live letter back then if I recall, as we fought very hard back then for it on the beta forums. But I'm with Flynn on this also, the servers only been getting fuller and fuller, and not even nescessarily due to RPers either, the situation won't change.

You keep missing the third long term solution though. Roleplayers designate a new RP server on their own, and consolidate there. I have to agree with Vexander, we have a golden opportunity here with the free transfers, and fresh servers, we could easily convince RPers to move to the new EU servers coming out in 4.X: http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/7031c8b817c28ac6903490d80964321690505ee8 with perks like keeping your FC, levelling bonuses and more, it's really a once in a while opportunity, and I'm quite certain like EU players have put up with an NA datacentre for a long time, there will be some NA players who wouldn't mind doing the same the other way around. Imagine, tons of free housing for RP, lots of empty canvas to paint our ideal Eorzea We can make this a large community! Like on other games, RP can exist on multiple servers, it can also consolidate, both can be successful. How exciting, the new server hit the 40 mark <3 steadily but surely picking up interest, I have plans to host a niche meeting about the darker Magicks of Eorzea once a month when we move, I'm in the plans of working on the details. I'm thinking it will be something more based around characters progression in the chosen school perhaps debating their applications of it, and tales involving it through their travels in Eorzea. I miss these sorts of things I used to partake in when RPing in WoW years ago.

I'm pretty sure that much is obvious, we can't be active on a server we don't have yet however, but we can be active here, and we can be active to make the decision and get the word out.

The numbers on here aren't the actual numbers of who is interested, I myself know a number of people who are wanting to go but havn't taken part in the forums poll same with some others in here and there friends. That and there is the potential of new players, like you host public events, people get curious, good and bad attention = good attention in the end anyways. I'm personally going to be running events, sorry to repeat myself or be annoying, we just want EU players to know they have a server close to them they can go to and find RP likeminded players, and we aren't going to get this FREE TRANSFER to make this new server Accessible to all. With 59 or so people, we could easily start a community and raise awareness as we encourage new players to come to the server, or brand new players to the game who like RP to come here first, and there will be room and no character restrictions. it's like ++++++, so many positives. ahmahgosh. :cactuar:

Well, as far as I'm aware there are a few FC's moving and as one of the leaders representing them, I don't really personally care which new one we go for, so long as we go with the Majority choice. The last thing we want to be picky about is the name of a server. From what I'm seeing in the interest of the discords and what has been voted it's not going to be so, we need everyones co-operation to make this work. Hesitation will only make things worse. The best you can do is go for the choice that has been voted for, and that is all that is asked I would have thought if it were such a case. As this is a big opportunity. perhaps I'm missing the point of what you are saying though.

I should hope we don't delay the choice further by choosing one between the two through polls, we should probably just have a Mod choose one and post it on here and on the discords and w/e to get us there ASAP. Haha but that might be me wanting to get with my fellow RPers as quickly as I can.

When Cerberus was really active mid HW, we used to encourage people to RP in the citie's when the inn we hosted in a large house wasn't always open, and if people got too comfortable we'd host the inn somewhere like Costa for a fun event, and to raise awareness. Nothing is stopping us from doing the likes of that with the new server we choose, I'd be happy to help host events with others as well. Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in making a EU FF Roleplayers discord for those interested in the Unofficial EU RP server possibility? Maybe that will help us all keep communication going and help us all stay on the same page.

Because it's baring in mind the server congestion and potential new EU players with a similliar mindset, without an unofficial EU RP server, we will -never- have the chance to make one, basically this same situation happened back at ARR launch, when people look for FFXIV RP they come here, out of curiousity, people direct us here, they try to get on Balmung/Gilg but mainly Balmung as they feel thats their only option half the time. We should really think of new players mainly in this regard, hopefully Lich gets the bonuses from the free transfers also then it can also be considered, but i guess all we can do is wait for info and see where interest lies. It's nice NA players are also giving their views, I just hope we make the most out of this transfer situation to set up a potentially great community to help spread out the niche's, whatever EU server we end up on we should all consider situation comes up once in a long occassion (one being ARR launch) and it's our chance to really progress the RP community within FF together!

I would be all for that, but the problems the datacentre location and those of us outside of the server faced with lockouts, let's not get started on how the launch of Stormblood on Aether is going to be, as a raider first I don't really like the sound of giving up my MS and the like for this. As for the Lich crowd, the same is the case on Cerberus, we all have an RP community, we used to have a rather large one mid Heavensward, an LS of around 50 or so active members, we just didn't see the point of advertising here, if I wanted a small RP community I'd stay on Cerberus, but this is for the hope of a larger RP community on a new server with the enticing benefits bringing in potentially new players who will also be wanting a new start. So those voting for Lich I personally see why you all are happy, but would you all consider moving if there was a larger RP community on the new server?

@Kilieit You do supposedly get reimbursed for things like small house and stuff, they also mentioned furniture too. Thing is what people need to also remember here, nobodies asking anyone to all move over, this is just an opportunity for those who finally can get an EU community with a datacentre close to their actual country of residence.

Probably disband if the leader decides to cash in to successfully move the community over, however I doubt they'd personally choose to do that if some of you remain, instead would likely pass lead. I guess it's really something you have to debate amongst yourselves within the FC.

I'd suggest this also, since there will be bonuses guaranteed for the new servers. My lot from Cerberus will be moving over there if this actually becomes a thing! Exciting!

I've quite heard enough from here, Even if you lot demand an RP server, it is very unlikely they will ever make it Legacy, amusingly. From what I'm hearing it will be a new server, as said, there is so many OOC players on Balmung that it is hardly fair to force them out of their home so you can RP and make them follow to your rules. I don't know, I really don't know, but I feel far from welcomed here, reading what I did and how you all see Balmung and go about RP is what made me want to role on Moogle. In all honesty I've never met so many immature people in my life, instead of reasoning your basically saying go by our opinion or get out, so I'm leaving. I don't see this site thriving, I think the main RP community will be on the improved Lodestone hopefully. I see no mature discussion here, just walls of text, replied with walls of text, with more walls of text. I'd like to thank those who tried to reason with the new players and help us, but I've taken the hint that yous have no interest in helping those who wish to start their new game on a new server, whilst not asking you to move, just asking to work together. Sums up people in general I guess. I could ramble on forever, hehehe. Thank you anyways, but you've all painted a bad enough imperession for as it is and you remind me of a WoW RP server which died for the same reasons. Basically I find this far from friendly for new players, and I'm tired of readin walls of text, like I just wrote.. it's boring and I have better things to do. Have fun~ <3

My communities main concern is the fact that roleing on a Legacy will effect our experience overall, not nescessarily RP. RP isn't really bothered much by in-game progress, but I would very much like to not have to server swap, JUST to RP. I'm personally planning on speaking on the new Lodestone's forums, for discussing new players and old alike interested in creating an RP community on one of the new servers (Currently we have votes for Moogle so far.). PvP, Economy, and many other means of progress will be carried over from what is seen as a seperate game, it might work fine, it might not work out at all. The problem is not everyone from Balmung will be on this forum, and others Playing on the now Japanese servers, may want to move to their region. It is completley impossible to predict what is going to happen next, the best we can do is work together and achieve something we can all agree on. Personally, I will probably be using the new lodestone when it's launched, it's features sound perfect. I think it would be fantastic if we could all work together to make FF XIV one of the best MMORPG RP communities the internet has ever seen.
