  1. I second that! I do hope we'll get to see more and more EU players join us in here. ^^ And, welcome :3
  2. Hey there, Daegon, welcome! Awesome to see another Dutch person around the community. I hope you'll have a good time and learn everything you wish to learn about roleplay I'm sure you'll find plenty of help here 8-)
  3. Luckily it seems most of you won't be too strict about the naming conventions 8-) I'd really like my Elezen to be named Noaleth and I suppose that isn't entirely in line with the common Elezen names. Though I suppose you can pronounce it in such a way that it sounds French..ish
  4. Male Wildwood Elezen (most likely) :3
  5. Hey there, Rhashi Glad to hear from another European. It's really too bad you haven't met very many other European roleplayers so far. It's strange how some games have a very large amount of EU based roleplayers (e.g. Guild Wars 2), while others have little. Luckily it's still quite some time till launch, and we'll probably see a bunch more show up! Like you said, we're probably just going to roll on a US server anyway, which will likely be Balmung So there will never be a real shortage of roleplay for us, though I do hope we'll have a nice little group of people from our timezones around 8-)
  6. Aladdin is totally my favorite disney movie, I think. That said, I do love the idea you bring up. My own character (Noaleth) will be a dedicated artisan/crafter (both in and out of character) and I intend to set up a trading/merchant/craftsmanship type of guild myself (if nothing similar is established). I'd like to see small trading caravans and harvesting expeditions and such, so I'm pretty interested in an explorer type of company as well :3 Although Noa won't be much of an adventurer or fighter, he'll be very interested in tagging along if he can aquire some rare materials, perhaps :geek:
  7. Sure thing! Our handles are songofelves (Noa) and hopeful.flower (Nodo). We'll add you soon, thanks! Again, anybody else in this community is always free to poke us on skype as well. Thanks, Taltale! We'll do our best to be a positive addition to the community :3
  8. This is really useful to a player like me that's still relatively new to the FFXIV lore and universe.. this is a helpful addition, for sure! Thank you for posting up the timeline and additional info
  9. Awesome, I was hoping to come across something like this, and it seems you guys know what you're doing so.. a big thank you to all involved in compiling this list!
  10. Awesome, I'll get on that soon, then Thank you! I guess we'll see you in there. Also, thanks again for all the warm welcomes, everybody :3
  11. Thank you for your input, Xenedra and Yssen :3 You may gladly have some of our RPs Looking forward to it, even ^^ That said, I'm probably more concerned about it than I should be . More than likely, we'll find our way around the time-zone difference and will probably manage to engage in some interesting interactions with NA characters as well, even if we do have to miss out on some events (but, who doesn't? 8-)) Either way, we'll probably be rolling on whatever the designated roleplay server will be that the bulk of the community will roll on, NA and EU alike :3 Be it Balmung or its succesor. I guess time will tell what server we'll all end up ^^ Regardless, I'm still interested in getting in touch with EU folk, of course. So if there are still any lurking about, I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
  12. Me and Hinagiku are looking to get in touch with roleplayers from the European timezones (GMT +0/+1/+2) I've noticed that a great majority of players on this site are from North America, so I'd like to find out how many Europeans who'll roleplay in ARR are currently active. Some games have a relatively large, vibrant and active European RP-community (like Guild Wars 2 and WoW at some point), while other games seem to shelter only a very small amount of EU roleplayers (like Everquest 2). I'm hoping there'll be a fair amount to be found in FFXIV: ARR, as timezone differences can possibly be very troublesome (especially when you can't stay up to play past midnight), if you want to build long lasting character relationships and plots 8-) Not necessarily, but it can be a barrier. So, we're curious. How many EU folk do we have in this community at the moment? Or of course, people from other countries or North Americans playing at hours more in line with EU prime-time qualify as well :3 And if you're European, do you intend to roll on a specifically European server, if Square-Enix appoints one, or will you just roll wherever the bulk of the (NA) RP community heads for?
  13. Thank you all for the words of welcome :moogle: We appreciate it. I also look forward to meeting you all in game, or chat to you sometimes. Does the coalition have some sort of chat or skype-channel in which you all hang out? :3
  14. (Warning! Wall of text may happen.) Hello everyone Over the past few years me and my partner in life and online gaming have wandered the lands of Azeroth (World of Warcraft), Norrath (Everquest 2), Tyria (Guild Wars 1/2) and more briefly a bunch of other worlds of which we’ve already forgotten the name (such as Aion, and Warhammer Online). Sadly we only stayed in Hydaelyn for a shortwhile during our travels, but now we intend on returning and immersing ourselves in her lands once again. We’re becoming increasingly weary of our travels and we’re looking to settle in a new world that will keep us enchanted for years to come! We’ve come here hoping to find the people that will settle with us. Speaking in less cryptic terms, me and my boyfriend (Hinagiku) have played numerous MMORPGs in the past :3 We’ve pretty much roleplayed in most of them, though across the board, we’ve spent most of our time in World of Warcraft and Everquest 2 ^^ I realize many people have turned into game-hoppers that don’t stay in one play for very long, but I honestly hope we’ll be able to find what (and who) we seek here. Judging by what I’ve seen from A Realm Reborn so far, I’m pretty optimistic :3 Since my partner/boyfriend will be making his post right after mine, I’ll speak for myself now ^^ My name is David, though you can call me Noaleth or Noa, which will likely also be the name of my character in FFXIV: ARR. I’ve gota major fetish for many things Elven, so as you may probably figure, I’ll likely be playing an Elezen My character concept is still vague at the moment, as I’ll be entirely new to FFXIV: ARR. What I can say already though, is that my character will be quite the dedicated craftsman Both in and out of character. By now, I’m in my twenties, and I currently live in The Netherlands (Europe). I’m looking to make a career in nursing and I’ve got a broad set of interests, such as: drawing, writing, philosophy, religion and spirituality (particularly Buddhism), lucid dreaming, Asian cultures (particularly Japan), and of course, games and roleplay Roleplay tome is a way to deepen my experience in a game and really immerse myself in a world; I love to write and create, and this is one way to express that. I can’t really classify myself as a particular kind of roleplayer, though if I’d had to say anything it’d be medium :3 I stay in character quite often, but I can appreciate OOC banter and highly value OOC friendship and community building. Linkshell idea Me and myboyfriend will likely be seeking to create our own guild/shell/company :3 Unless of course, somebody comes along with the same ideas. While we still have to flesh things out, we’re looking to create a guild for slightly less adventurous, but no less interesting characters! It would be a community of primarily artisans, crafters, commoners/citizens, farmers, merchants and scholars or priests/healers; or perhaps a township or city-community based guild. The primary idea behind the guild would be community (re)building and reinforcement, driven by the ideal of keeping or reinvigorating the (local) community and economy, making it strong and vibrant, for the sake of the people. After recent devastation and the ongoing war, that would definitely be crucial :3 Activities and events would be along the lines of: running a store/business, inn or tavern, trading expeditions, exploration and harvesting expeditions as well as charity events and casual devotional practices to the twelve. Like I mentioned, we still have to flesh out these ideas, but hopefully we’ll find at least a few people who might be interested in this :3 I realize this might be particularly difficult since we’ll be based in the EU, where less people play, but we’re optimistic regardlessly Anywhoo,I’ll keep it at that for now, lest I bore you all with my ramblings See you all on the forums! Also, I’m always interested in meeting new people so if anybody sees a reason to exchange PMs or add me on Skype, be my guest :3 (Skype name: songofelves) ~ Noa
