  1. I spotted this prompt recently and thought it looked interesting. Similarities: 1. We both love coffee a little too much. 2. I, like my character, love poetry. We can't write it to save our lives, but that only makes us love poetry even more. 3. K'oda and I both are compulsive list makers. Crossing things off that list after completing a task is soooo satisfying. 4. We are both gay. 5. We both play the violin. 6. K'oda and I are both blonde but not natural blonde 7. We both love to fly. Myself obviously in airplanes and he in airships haha ^^ Differences: 1. K'oda is quite calm and even tempered, but I freak out about everything. 2. I admit I'm not a very good keeper of secrets irl, but K'oda is like a vault. 3. K'oda can play cello and piano as well as the violin, but I only play one instrument. 4. I can only wish that I were as organized as K'oda. 5. While K'oda is quite formal and proper, I'm afraid I'm not quite that polished and composed haha ^///^ 6. K'oda isn't superstitious at all, but irl I can't ride across train tracks without crossing my fingers and lifting my feet. :3 7. K'oda has adorable cat ears and a tale, but me, try as I might, I can't seem to grow either. =^. .^=
  2. Personally, I'm all for romance but it all seems so trite sometimes. Also I don't appreciate the pressure to experience some sort of perfect "fairy tail romance". Admittedly I'm not very experienced with these things, but I think there can be romance found everyday between two people. It's the little things that matter ultimately, but again that's just my opinion. True romance is a luxury that K'oda can't afford. That can be understandably confusing and is quite contradictory to some people, seeing as companionship and romance are rather large facets of K'oda's trade. But all one needs to do is look closer to see that the romance K'oda creates isn't real. Or rather, it isn't genuine. It's like a beautiful sculpture made of ice; alluring, even enchanting but ultimately cold and temporary. Eventually the spell melts away and then there is no hiding from the truth. In the bright light of day, he is alone. Deep in his heart he holds out hope, but in the forefront of his mind he knows not to give in to such fantasies. He's no fool, and won't delude himself. There is no room for such pleasures in his life.
  3. *bows cordially* hello and welcome to Balmung.
  4. I. Basic Info Characters: K'oda Tia Primary character: K'oda Tia Linkshells: Heart of Darkness, The Guilded Rose IC, Primary RP linkshell: II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium to heavy, very heavy lately but I don't expect it to last. Views on RP combat and injuries: In all honesty, I've not had much experience with rp combat. I'm open to it, even curious, but it doesn't seem to come up often. And if conflict does arise, K'oda has other ways to quell the danger. IC rp injury falls into a similar category. K'oda hasn't really been injured by anyone else, but did break his leg when he was young and was mildly poisoned once. Neither event was at the hands of another, rather the blame all fell onto K'oda's shoulders in both cases. Again, I'm always open to ideas but won't be allowing K'oda to die or be permanently injured/scarred/maimed for some time, if at all. Views on IC romance: I couldn't help but grin at this section. Those who know K'oda know his views on such things. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): These kinds of ties can enrich one's rp experience significantly. While not always necessary, platonic relationships are usually quite enjoyable and most welcome. Views on lore: Personally, I'm in favor of adhering to the lore where applicable. It helps me to immerse more effectively. However, I've always found that lore can only take one so far. There are usually a lot of grey areas or simply no lore at all that deal with certain subjects and scenarios and then it's up to the player to fill in the blanks. I love to see the creativity in a person shine through when the lore leaves them grasping for clarity. Creative liberties must be taken eventually, and honestly, I'm grateful for that. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): This is quite simple and straight forward for me. /say is for rp naturally. Although I usually speak in /em haha link shells are flexible obviously, some being IC and some OOC for networking and socialization. /FC for me is almost always OOC and is more for chatting and organizing amongst FC members. /p is the same as linkshell, sometimes IC but mostly OOC. 13. *polietly bows his head, bringing his right hand to his chest and tucking his left behind his back as was customary in the house he was trained in* Hello all, I am so pleased to be able to introduce myself. I truly hope I'm not overstepping bounds or coming across too bold. It's simply my nature. With regard to myself, I am a former servant of the House of Urumet. More specifically I was personal retainer to The Lord's eldest son, Aruktai. Regrettably, and through circumstances I am not at liberty to disclose, my master was cast out of his noble home. I naturally followed, but now find myself in a most nebulous situation. _________________________________________ OOC- Hi hi! I'm Rylan and I'm new to these forums. I'm not new to ffxiv but haven't tried any of the rp. Until recently, I wasn't aware of this community. But to be fair, I didn't really look either haha My friend and I transferred to balmung recently, and while I am interested in rp he is less into it. His character is still part of my story however, his is the basis of my characters former master. I confess I still need a lot of help with lore, which I try to stay true to always. If I do post anything that conflicts with the lore, please tell me. I don't know how to introduce properly on here, so if I have left out anything, please tell me. Ask any questions also, I am looking forward to a lot of rp and friends I hope! ^.^
