  1. Jaydhe is not where she should be and someone wants her back. I can go into more in depth details but I wanted to put some feelers out there to see who is interested in playing that role. The ideal individual/s will be male Xalea Au Ra who are either Dothral or friendly with them. I know that's not a lot of information but I'm interested in finding out what types of bad guys there are out there! 8-)
  2. I. Basic Info Characters:Jaydhe Tokar, Corylena Silverstream Primary character:Jaydhe Tokar Linkshells:AAoRP, Creators Haven Primary RP linkshell:AAoRP II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium/Heavy Views on RP combat and injuries: I am fine with combat in a form that makes sense to those involved. OOC communication before hand makes it all go more smoothly. As for injuries, while my character is a healer, she also knows the more mundane aspects of tending to wounds. Minor wounds I view as getting healed completely while more major ones will take time. Views on IC romance: I am open to this but it needs to make sense and be part of a greater plot or ongoing RP. I'm open to ideas provided there is an OOC conversation before hand to ensure all involved are on board. If I, or an RP partner, are unsure, asking OOC first will smooth things out Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): This is great! Jaydhe has no idea if her parents still live or if she has any siblings, cousins, etc. Views on lore: Following lore is wonderful! Bending lore is just as okay. Downright breaking it, no thanks. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): Out of habit, anything OOC is preceeded by double parenthesis --> (( (ending with them if I remember). I'll sometimes do this in OOC channels as well since it's so ingrained. Unless the chat is specifically OOC or I've denoted it as such, anything else is IC. III. Other Info Country:United States Timezone:CST (Houston, TX) Contact info:Message me here or send me a tell. 3. Your play time would explain why I haven't seen you yet. I'm usually logged out by the time you get on I'm afraid. Except on weekend nights that is. Very interesting character!

    Hello!

Sena! You lifesaver you. I had no idea I could do that.
  5. As a creative sort myself and someone who deals with chronic depression and anxiety, I can completely understand everything you're saying. I know that when I'm at my lowest, I cut myself off from the world and hate myself for doing it. If you're not already in therapy, I would suggest you see what is available and try a couple therapists until you find one that clicks for you. If you can find relief without medication that is the best way to go but sometimes a combination of therapy and medication is the best course of action. Medication can also help since brain chemicals and receptors are often out of whack for those of us in the chronic classifications. I would urge you to be mindful of those, though and don't be afraid to tell your doctor if it feels wrong. Not every medication works for every person. Hormones can also play a huge part in this and there may be something out of balance there too (mine are!). Dealing with this stuff is hard. Really hard. But you truly can find a way to stabilize without losing your creativity and drive. I promise! So big hugs from me and you've got all my well wishes, good thoughts, and prayers. Hollar if you need someone to talk to.

    Hello!

Balmung is never open for me so I've had to create characters on another server and pay to have them transferred. That's why I only have 3 characters there.
  7. Tasi, I am/was in the same boat as you are. I'm not new to roleplaying but new to the FF lore. What I did was to do a bit of reading stuff I could find and to which I was pointed. I had a general idea of my who Jaydhe was and her background and have been solidifying it as I go. I also decided to start her off as someone who was new to Eorzea (6 months to a year there) so she was not much more knowledgeable about stuff than I was. I'd also be happy to RP with you sometime. My character is Jaydhe Tokar.
  8. One of the best ways to avoid drama is to take things slowly and make connections. Learn the feel of the server and get an idea of the areas and groups to avoid. So far I've made a few friends who have a good take on things. (good for me because I'm so new to FF lore and this RP community) I'm looking for RP and a good FC to join but I'm taking it slowly while I figure out my character. What are you looking for in RP and in the game itself?
  9. I'm in a similar boat. I'm an RP veteran from other MMOs but am newish to the world of FFXIV. I have an Au Ra named Jaydhe Tokar and I'd be happy to RP with you sometime. I'm working on her character background so it's not fully fleshed out yet. I'll do that as I learn more and get a better feel for who Jaydhe is.
  10. Hello peoples! I've been working on a background for my character Jaydhe who is a Xaela Au Ra. She is fascinated by magic and has numerous abilities though she's not had much in the way of formal training. She is from a family of master horse trainers and has a high affinity for understanding and getting the best out of any horse with which she works. She's extremely protective of animals, horses in particular (naturally!) I do have plans for her to bump into some folks that should work well with the magic aspect but wanted to define her background in more depth. That said, I tend to create histories that are wrought with peril and terror. (probably not so different from many of you!) Because I'm fairly new to FFXIV lore (I have been reading! Promise!) this is where I need your help and input. Feel free to help me expand on this and maybe it might even involve your own characters to some extent (for better or worse!) Some thoughts I have are the following possibilities: Her family tribe was small but well known for their horse training and breeding. At some point they were captured and forced into service by another tribe and she was born into this environment. Her family tribe was annihilated by warring tribes and she was among the captured survivors. Being young (around 16/17 at the time) and pretty she found herself in some unpleasant circumstances Captured by Garleans? (I'm very fuzzy on where this one might lead) In trying to determine how she ended up in Eorzea, I had a few ideas there She ended up on a pirate ship somehow and they, in turn, were attacked by the Maelstrom. She ends up in Limsa Lominsa. She doesn't remember how she got to Eorzea. This one leaves me wide open with fill in the blanks. The group she's with gets attacked by the Garleans and she finds herself freed from captivity and smack in the middle of a large group of fleeing refugees. I look forward to hearing your thoughts! Thanks in advance. Jaydhe Tokar
  11. Thank you! I just wrote a book for you.
  12. I have just started playing again after a long absence. I haven't worked out the details about my character yet but one thing I do know is that she is fascinated by magic of all sorts. She's a Xaela Au Ra named Jaydhe Tokar. I've not RPd in forever but I have a LOT of experience with it. I miss it and would love to get involved again. I posted this on the OoO thread too but wanted to touch base here too. I'll look for you in game!

  14. I have to say I'm reading this with great interest. While I don't play a villain, I do ADORE the nasty bads. I tend to want my characters to be in a massive amount of danger all the time and having one or more antagonists is pure fun for me. I do love role playing the victim but it also doesn't mean my characters are push overs or door mats either. Deep, dark, rich story lines are completely awesome and with really good RPers (no drama queens, know how to keep IC and OOC separate, communicate OOCly constantly to make sure things are still good, have the limits and expectations conversation beforehand and during), there's nothing else like it.
